Re: best of in General Therapy? Topics
By and large I hate Best Ofs, Greatest Hits and stuff.
It’s usually a record company swindle to get you to buy stuff you already have, and they throw in a couple of tracks you haven’t got.
Megadeth’s Capitol Punishment is an example as well as 10 Year Plan.
Ban them…until the band is no more I say. Then do one. Or give me loads of b-sides and rarities.
I want all the Therapy? stuff I ain’t got like b-sides and so on, but I can’t find them, and I ain’t got a burner. Boo-hoo. :-(

Do you mean the logo or the ” Heavy Fuckin’ Metal” tag line? The logo is based on Marshall amplifiers’ logo.
I love my T?-shirt. he he.
T? artwork.
Most consistently bonkers album covers by a band I’ve seen.
Babyteeth. Bloke with turd coming out of mouth into other blokes ear.
Pleasure Death. 2 blokes with corrugated iron hat/mask thingies.
Nurse. An upside down eye.
Troublegum. Weird bloke with a skin disorder looking in dustbin.
Infernal Love. Most normal cover. Band wearing dodgy facial hairpieces.
Semi-Detached. Bored couple in 60’s kitchen full of tapioca.
SPYF. Shouty bloke with 4 animal masks on.
Shameless. Blue bunnies at the theatre/pictures.
I love-em. :-)
Phew!!

the worst thing about T’vision is just how unappreciated they are - can’t think of many bands that have released 5 albums without at least 1 being substandard and they managed it (although I’ve not listened to Formaldehyde much).
I’ve always thought this about Terrorvision.
Great band.
Bloody great name for a band too I reckon.
All the chat in the 90’s was like “who’s best? Blur, Oasis or (insert band here)” and I’m like…what about the Terrors? Great gigs too.
Having said that, their last album “Good To Go” had to have the WORST album cover ever. Yuk! Even worse than Paranoid !

Re: Sp-yf in General Therapy? Topics
I don’t understand the “I like this band, but hate your band and you suck” thing AT ALL.
People on this board more than others are the most tolerant people I’ve discussed stuff with. That’s why I bother. I know I don’t post much stuff anyway, but all this negative stuff…bletch !!
Check out the Metallica boards if you want to see some purile drivel.
“Hey man, u r a looza cus you like Pantera. They suk.” etc ad infinitum…
Some people on this board have mentioned bands I may not like, but what the hey. They may not like bands I do.
Black Sabbath
Megadeth
Soundgarden
Manics
Terrorvision
The Almighty
blah blah…
SPYF shit? yeah…whatever…

Re: they could have been big in General Therapy? Topics
I’ve got a theory that most bands (nearly all) can only make about 6 decent albums before the rot sets in. Sometimes less.
Old style Sabs with Ozzy being the best example. First 6 albums are fantastic. Technical Ecstacy = OK. Never Say Die = worse. My Opinions here OK.
Now then…some bands buck these trends and get better, and some fall apart after 1 album or so (GnR anyone).
Some bands start off releasing dodgy stuff then get better. The Almighty. The Cult.
But even they probably will never make more than a half dozen “good” albums. I bet it’s virtually impossible.
The Rolling Stones keep releasing stuff, but is it “any good”.
As for Therapy? my fave albums are SPYF Semi-Detached and Troublegum.
Shameless falls a shade under them.
They may never hit the highs of whichever is your fave album, but they will have a good laugh, a good time, and give us some good tunes, trying.
I wish them all the best. They’re not a bunch of pretentious nobs like some bands (Lars Ulrich) although Met do indeed rock.
My actual Fave Therapy? track is Fat Camp. One of their most recent.
I like them being unpredictable.

“And you poured Eros maggots down my throat, until I choked ”
That line from Bowels of Love off the Infernal Love album.
It’s about the only track I have to skip past now.
Yuk!

Re: 667th thread. So that Satan doesn’t get us !! in General Therapy? Topics
Is there anything we can discuss on this thread to keep ourselves amused?
Here’s something…weird experiences (kinda goes with the 666 theme)
When I was a kid, I remember watching a horror film about these brains with spines attached that went around strangling people (yeah !). They made a weird gurgling sort of noise.
The next day I was watching morning TV and I could here this same noise !! I was frozen stiff for what seemed like ages. Petrified I was.
After a while I turned my head round to see where the “monsters” were…and spotted my mum’s wine making kit fermenting and bubbling away which she had moved into the room and I hadn’t noticed.
I was scared for a while though.
Wish I could remember the name of the film.

I used to play bass in a punkband.
I’ve never had any lesson so was the same for the drummer.
We played so gigs and everyone enjoyed it because we’re fun to listen to and fun to see.
We we’re looking for a second gitarist.
We met some guys who could play every solo of metallica but couldn’t play our songs properly.
they could only play with a cd but not with a band.
Improvising was a strange word for them.
Being a good gitarist doesn’t have to mean you’re a musician.
Some fine words.
I’ve had 6 lessons on bass in my life, and I learned nothing. He just wanted to run through various songs.
After I’d played along to various CD’s (Sabbath, Therapy? etc) I though “get in a band, jump in at the deep end”.
Never looked back.
A mate of mine once said “loads of people are brilliant in the bedroom. Gig? Nah!!”

Re: Fyfe Ewing in General Therapy? Topics
As least this thread hasn’t gone down the lines of the endless Kirk Hammett is god/suck/whatever threads that rage on the Metallica boards. I’ve always “preferred” Graham’s drumming, but the drummer in my band says Fyfe is pretty amazing, Teethgrinder very difficult/impossible and Stuart Copeland his fave.
Buzzweasel…there are some twats in music (musos posuers etc) but I’ve always kept my feet on the ground (I hope).
I wish everyone could loosen up too.

Re: Stereotype T? Fan? in General Therapy? Topics
All I can say is that the Therapy gig I went to in Woverhampton in early 2000 had the widest variety of people there I’ve seen at any gig I’ve been to, except for perhaps Hawkwind.

Hope you voted for Jewel Cases in my poll. :-)
They would make more sense for just CD singles, as they’re supposed to be cheaper.

Re: Getting into it. in General Therapy? Topics
Girl at at work (mmm…) lent me Troublegum on tape in 1997. She said “You like Rock music don’t you. This band rule !!” They do !!Blew me away really. So much power and feeling. Semi Detached came out in 98 (I think?), bought it. Fantastic. Then I went out and bought Nurse. SPYF came out in 2000 (my fave T? album), then I’ve gradually picked up the first 2 mini albums and Infernal Love. I actually bough Shameless from a dealer in Germany, cos the CD’s over there are in Jewel Cases not Digi Paks, and at the time it came out, every shop in this part of Earth (Central England) only had it in CornFlake Pak. Damn !
But I outfoxed them…Buhahaha (in mad scientist voice).

Re: Worst Therapy? Songs in General Therapy? Topics
I only really dislike Bowels of Love.
There are 1 or 2 others on the Babyteeth and Pleasure Death releases that aren’t that good, but I think that’s mainly down to production, and some of those early tracks sound a bit muddy.
Re-release ‘em I say, re-mixed etc.

I want to know how they’re doing on the search for a drummer?
Or maybe they will use a guest drummer(s) if they can’t find a permanent replacement.

Not got any old singles you see.
Only got into T? around 1997.

I’m with Infernal Man on this.
I went to see Therapy? in Feb 2000 at Wolves and picked up a bass within a month.
Never looked back.
I think T? still rock as well.
