13 tales I seem to recall.

Re: what is the one album you regret buying? in Other Bands & Artists

Some album by the Dandy Warhols.
I took it back and the guy said, “What’s wrong with it? Is it scratched or not play properly?”
I said, “No. It’s rubbish.”
Money back no problem.

Re: who would you choose in Other Bands & Artists

Reform - The Almighty
Bring back - Randy Rhoads I think. Tough (impossible) choice though

Re: Your Worst bands in Other Bands & Artists

I must agree with Hooch there. The Smiths are poo.
I don’t like a lot (any) of these “stare at your shoes” bands.
Or those “American High School” bands.
Lumpy Biscuit suck.
All those “Grunt Metal” bands. What is all that about anyway. Right load of old crap.

Kiss are the worst though. EVER!

Re: Anyone else dissapointed by Weezer’s new single? in Other Bands & Artists

Written purely so it gets played whenever a TV company need some backing music for a programme about Beverly Hills.

Re: Anthrax in Other Bands & Artists

I prefer John’s vocals too.
The album they released with the new line up covering the old faves was brilliant. Those old tunes rule, and with John singing them, they’re much more powerful.

Re: Anthrax in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Anthrax rumour (merged)

I’ve read some guff on the web today about John Bush leaving Anthrax and Joey coming back in the band.
And also…Dan Spitz and Frank Bello coming back. Sounds like a hoax to me.
You guys heard anything?

I like Span.

Re: New Megadeth in Other Bands & Artists

Kick the Chair is the best track on the album, and a great track on it’s own. the rest of the album is OK.

Such rubbish.

Re: One hundred albums you should remove from your collection in Other Bands & Artists

I’ve got 7, and there’s some right old crap in that list anyway.

Nine inch nails ferchrissakes.
Morrisey (is a twat). Jeez.

Re: worst band on earth? in Other Bands & Artists

Oh come on…
This is easy.

KISS.
Never in all my life have I heard such insipid drivel.
They are the suckiest band who ever sucked.

Re: Black Sabbath in Other Bands & Artists

Dennis wrote:

Hmmmm, funny how other artists of the time managed longer albums then, huh?!

I think that vinyl in the early 70’s could stretch to 20 minutes per side maximum. Then they managed to stretch to 25 minutes or so. But who cares. Never mind the quantity. Look at the quality.

Anyway…

Buy these 6 first in this order of genius…

Sabotage (well, duh!)
Vol 4
Master of Reality
Paranoid
Black Sabbath
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

Then you could pick up Technical Ecstacy when you feel rich and Never Say Die when you feel a bit completist because apart from a few tracks, it’s poor.

Re: Iron Maiden in Other Bands & Artists

I voted for Paul.
Bruce is a great vocalist but I just prefer the first 2 albums. Not only are the songs better but I prefer Paul’s vocals.
This might sound stupid but Bruce’s voice is “too perfect” for a metal band.

Re: Best Live albums in Other Bands & Artists

I’m gonna go for AC/DC If You Want Blood.

I wish there was a live AC/DC DVD with Bon Scott.

Terrorvision. What a great band.
Great gigs.
Great songs…although Tequila was crap.

Reform?

Yeah!!!

Re: Worst Album Cover… in Other Bands & Artists

This is the worst album cover I’ve ever seen.

Great band, but this cover sucks…

Terrorvision…Good To Go

Re: Graveltrap in Other Bands & Artists

Perhaps it was just the one track I’ve heard then. Although it had a typical pop-punk verse, it went all over the place in the middle. Great stuff.
Song is called SRJ or something like that.

Re: Muse in Other Bands & Artists

I tried to download it off the Muse site but got nowhere, and couldn’t remember the name of the track.
Worked out OK then.

Cheers Michael

Graveltrap in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Graveltrap

Apart from Graveltrap being an absolutely great name for a band, has anyone heard anything by them.
I’ve only seen/heard their video on ScuzzTV.
Very good I thought.

Re: Muse in Other Bands & Artists

Question…

What was the internet only single called?
I thought that was Stockholm Syndrome, and that it wasn’t going to be on Absolution.

Re: Bands that get gradually worse in Other Bands & Artists

I’ve got a slightly different theory, but you’re basically right mate.

My theory is that most bands have got 6 good albums in them, then they start either getting worse or just churn out the same old stuff.
It is usually their first 6 albums that are the best, but this isn’t totally true.

e.g.
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
AC/DC
Black Sabbath
Megadeth (although Kill the King rules)

Bands that completely disprove my theory are…

Therapy? (What can I say. Never the same. Is it me or do T? get better.)
Anthrax (just released arguably their best album. #9)

err…

Re: a quick question in Other Bands & Artists

I would…but if the gig was like £20 then I’d think hmmm.
I’d have to know a little bit about them.
i’ve bought albums without knowing anything about a band other that “They’re a bit rock/punky/metally. Vocals a bit like Bon Scott meets Ozzy” or whatever.

I liked their first albums when they were rocking a bit more (Bartender And The Thief is still my favourite song of theirs), but with JEEP they became dull.

That’s just what I think about the ‘Phonics.
And I agree with Irish lady about Kelly’s voice. It’s a great rock voice.

Re: Alice Cooper’s new album (in case anybody cares) in Other Bands & Artists

Hey Stoopid is one of my fave Cooper tracks.
I’ve heard Brutal Planet and, good though it was, nothing stuck on me.
