Not yet, I’ve been trying to get it recently, but older Anthrax albums are quite hard to find (although I haven’t made that much of an effort yet, TBH)

I like Stomp 442 quite a lot. I’ve had Sound Of White Noise for ages now, which is excellent, and their new one We’ve Come For You All is absolutely brilliant! Have you got that one as well?

Weve come for you all is awesome.

I only need to get State of Euphoria and Persistance of Time

The last CD’s I bought are:

Anthrax - Stomp 442

Got that album a few months ago.
John Bush’s voice rules and Stomp 442 is a great record.
Have you got Volume 8 Rene?
I’d put it on a par with Stomp 442.

Should have it soon.

If I can ever find it I will probably get it then.
Cheers

Re: The Cult in Other Bands & Artists

I’ve got “The Best of Rare Cult” which is a the best of the 6 CD collection or something. Some good stuff on there.

I haven’t got the Self Titled. No good I take it?

Re: The Cult in Other Bands & Artists

Bit late with this reply, but I’ve been on my hols.
The Cult rule.
What a great band.

You like the last album Beyond Good and Evil? Great stuff.

Re: The Darkness Rock!… in Other Bands & Artists

His vocals get on my wick.

They just seem like A.N.Other band to me.
Nothing special.
Wouldn’t call them shite, but not my cup of tea.

Re: best solo ever in Other Bands & Artists

Don’t know if it qualifies as a solo, but the outro to Kill The King by Megadeth takes some beating.

you freely admit that you took the name you so furiously protect from a fanzine..in your own words, you “stole” it,

I don’t think that is how Metallica got their name.
The version I heard was that Lars was in a meeting of some kind, and this guy was trying to think of a good name for his fanzine. Someone said Metallica. Lars said “No”. He then used the name for his band. Which isn’t stealing it. He put the other guy off the name, then had it for himself. Smart move I reckon.
I could be wrong though. That’s just what I heard once.

Re: Anthrax in Other Bands & Artists

WCFYA is waaaaay better than St Anger.

I can’t believe that after the hype surrounding Metallica’s new album, it has come out like this.
It’s not the change of style I mind. I’m just a big a fan of old Metallica, The Black Album, Load/Reload.
St Anger comes across as “lashed up” to me. I dunno. Just how I feel. It’s not that the songs are long. It’s just that they’re repetitive, and don’t go anywhere “new”. 8 minutes of the same riffage and structure.

They rule.

The new album is awesome.

Better than High Anxiety? Phew…it’s close.

Re: You’re not fooling anybody you know? in Other Bands & Artists

I don’t think that the UK entry were out a semitone or so. I think they were just crap, and coundn’t sing.
They’re making excuses up, but they were rubbish.
I’m glad. Eurovision sucks. They should have decent bands on. Why are they always rubbishy “bang bang a boom” type songs?

They do indeed ROCK!

Re: cover band in Other Bands & Artists

I’m in a “covers” band. I guess you’re on about what we call “tribute” bands around my way.
I don’t mind either, but I think tribute bands shouldn’t do bands that are still around.
Where as covers bands do anything.

Re: Orange Goblin in Other Bands & Artists

Their website http://www.orangegoblin.com has some MP3’s you can download for free. They rock.
They’re kind of like a mix of Sabbath and Budgie with James Hetfield vocals I’d say.

Caught a snippet on the news late last night.
No details though.

Waho!
Britney eh?
Well, good luck to Fred I say.
I’m not a fan of either though, so I don’t really care too much.

Re: Metallica on tour!!! in Other Bands & Artists

Saw Maiden ages ago in about 1988. Fantastic.

Any of you guys seen the Metallica Cunning Stunts shows on DVD or Video?
Lars comes across as such a nob. Jeez.

Re: Metallica on tour!!! in Other Bands & Artists

Bob Rock is playing the bass in the studio.
I wonder if he’ll tour with them?

They’re supposed to be doing Donnington as well!

Ocean Colour Scene in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Ocean Colour Scene

I went to a pub just down the road from me last night to see a local covers band who I know. Tried to pinch their drummer for my band once actually. Tee he.
Anyway, I got to work this morning, and someone said (who was also at the pub) “Did you see Ocean Colour Scene? They were there.”
I says, “What? playing!” being a bit confused.
They explained they were just there for a drink and what-not.
Missed that one then.
Boring story now over.
You may go back to your lives.
Just glad it wasn’t some band I actually like.

Re: led zeppelin in Other Bands & Artists

A fine band for sure. Like some of their stuff, but not keen on the folky stuff they did really. Just not my cup of tea.

More of a Black Sabbath man myself.

Re: Nickelback in Other Bands & Artists

Many years ago in the mists of time…the late 1970’s/ early 1980’s…me and my mates were all into Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Priest etc.
Everyone hated us. Punk was BIG then. And there was Ska music, disco and all sorts. We loved Rock and Metal and that was it. Sabbath at one time were the most hated band around. Now (with some people) its like “Oh yeah I love Sabbath man. They rule. They invented Metal” or some other such line. Now I find it hard to believe that loads of people love Sabs, when years ago this just was not the case.
The bit about Sabs “inventing” HM is bollux. HM came about via loads of sources. Hendrix, Budgie, Purple, Zep, Sabs and loads others. If anything (and I hate very narrow genre definitions) Sabs are a hard rock band. Zeppelin…rock band. AC/DC…rock band. Priest…now that’s “more metally” if you like, but they didn’t invent it. They developed what was already there.
As for Therapy?…who cares. They rule !!

Can’t remember the point of this post now. 40 next birthday. Need tea and biccies.

Oh yeah…If you like a band, then great. If you don’t, then fine.
Unless it’s pop-music (Steps, Atomic Kitten etc) then…well…oh dear. :-)

Re: Nickelback in Other Bands & Artists

I like them.
OK, they aren’t the most original band in the world, but there aren’t many of those about anyway.
How you remind me is a bit generic I suppose, but there’s stuff on the album that’s far better.
I reckon that if “that song” hadn’t got so big, there wouldn’t be this debate. It would be just another song, and Nickelback, just another band, who I would still like.
I think the popularity of that song has led so some people hating them.
Too Bad.

Re: Terrorvision in Other Bands & Artists

What a great band.
Saw them twice at Wolves in about 1998 and 2001.
Always a good gig.
