Re: There’s a funny smell in here… in Chit-Chat

I’ve just been round my mates house.
I don’t know how, but his dog smells like it’s dead, but it still moves…

Re: Hitler was a tax dodger!!! in Chit-Chat

And he was a teatotaler, vegetarian and anti hunting…not that that’s bad, but he was.

Re: Jeans poll… in Chit-Chat

Other.

You should have put a colour option in.
Mine are black and very cheap off the market.

Re: Do men ever leave for the other woman? in Chit-Chat

I did once. Big mistake.
I should never have had the “other woman”.
I ended it and stayed with the missus after a couple of weeks.

Re: Favourite buffet snack item! in Chit-Chat

Scotch egg.

They rule so much.
Whenever we used to have a buffet at my old job, the rest of the office had to protect the scotch egg plate from me in rugby scrum fashion.

I love ‘em. Yumm.

Must go shop get scotch egg.. *drools*

Re: Likely fox-hunting ban in Chit-Chat

I grew up in a village with one pub, one shop (closed 1986) and one bus-stop for a bus that came once an hour. We were surrounded by fields on all sides! Don’t see how growing up like that could mean I know nothing about the countryside. Am particularly incensed as was back there at the weekend and went for a run (along the road, wasn’t even in a field) - load of hunters out either hunting or exercising their dogs, which meant running through a pack of 20 or so hounds, which was not the nicest of experiences.

Hi CE.
Sounds exactly like where I grew up.

I was talking to a guy at work the other week about fox hunting, and he said that more foxes are killed on the roads than hunts kill each year. Which kind of makes the hunt a bit crap I say.
What kind of “essential service” is outdone by accident.

Re: Likely fox-hunting ban in Chit-Chat

Then the toffee-nosed gits will try and ban something you like for no good reason.

Re: Likely fox-hunting ban in Chit-Chat

Well I haven’t posted for a while but this looks like a nice juicy topic to get stuck into.

I have no real strong opinion on fox-hunting, but I lean heavily towards banning it.

What I want to know is…do any of you guys know the numbers involved here.

1/ How many foxes do hunts kill each year?
2/ How many foxes die in traffic?
3/ How many people do the hunts “employ”?
4/ How many foxes are shot or killed by other means?
5/ Are they the “pest” they’re supposed to be? How much livestock do they kill?

Cheers

I’m leaving now people. Catch you around. in Chit-Chat

Title: I’m leaving now people. Catch you around.

Well, I leave work this Friday. About bleedin’ time. I’ve been “under the axe” for 12 months now.
My internet access will dry up.
I’ll be at the Wolves gig, and as soon as I get a job where I can check in and chat to you guys I will.
My PC at home is dead, and it doesn’t look like that will work for a while.

So I’ll catch you when I can.
Be safe now you guys and gals.

Sabs. ;)

Re: I’m looking for recommendations for good (horror/mystery/sci-fi) short stories? in Chit-Chat

Isaac Asimov wrote some very good short stories.
Can’t remember the book titles now though. :(
I think that there has been various “compilations” of his short works.

White Psycho wrote:

ok Rene isn’t going to be too happy at this so apologies in advance but it would have to be my Megadeth albums [ducks]. Sorry but I really can’t stand them!

I think that there’s a lot of samey sounding tracks on Deth albums, especially the later stuff, but Sweating Bullets, Holy Wars, Kill the King etc just rule. :)

Re: Average Age in Chit-Chat

If my 40’s are like my 30’s were, I may have to have a big lie down for a year or 2. :p

I voted for Trigger Inside to play on SCUZZ TV last night and didn’t get it. I feel like sabotaging something now.

Re: Age difference in Chit-Chat

I’m *cough* 40… and my missus is 32.
We’ve been together since I was 30 and she 22.
We’ve never found the age gap a problem…although it does mean that she tends to like cheesy 80’s hair metal bands. :D

Re: Worst actor ever? in Chit-Chat

Jenny Seagrove is the worst actress/actor I’ve ever seen.

(I get confused with all these new fangled gender neutral descriptions)

It’s just that every time I saw his face in that movie I could almost hear him saying ’ Now then, yoong alien - sit tha’ sen doun an ‘ave a nice coopa tetleys. Tha’ll feel better tha knows.”

Not really what you want going through your head during a sci-fi action thriller!

Aye. Champion.

Ah. See what you mean.
Soz mate.

By the way, this Alien 5 had better be an improvement on Alien 4.
Aliens 1 - 3 were ace movies, but 4 went way downhill for me.

Title: I read a book once; Green it was.

Brian Glover rules.

I remember him as the guy in Alien, and the Tetley guy.
Seems unfair to typecast him so to speak.

Alan wrote:

‘Diamond’ Dave Thompson is the lad’s full name.

If you have the Bizarre Festival 1998 on video, he’s the guy wearing the Chelsea shirt who introduces the band at the start. He also sings “Iron Man” on the Shock Treatment bootleg from 1994, so he’s been around a while!

He’s kinda small, chubby, has a goatee, and is from Belfast.

Sounds like the guy I bought a t-shirt off at the Wolverhampton gig way back in 2000 or so.

Re: Who is “Diamond Dave” ? in Chit-Chat

Aha! So it’s not Mr Coverdale or Mr Roth then?
Because I’m sure I’ve heard “Diamond Dave” used in context with them.
Perhaps not.
I really ought to stop thinking about drivel like this and do something a bit more constructive with my life. ;)

Cheers Iris.

Who is “Diamond Dave” ? in Chit-Chat

Title: Who is “Diamond Dave” ?

Daft question, but here goes…

I see the name Diamond Dave here there and everywhere, but I never know if they’re talking about…

1/ Dave Lee Roth
2/ David Coverdale
3/ Some other bloke called Dave…who’s a Diamond of some sort.

Anyone know who DD is?
