Re: Hitler was a tax dodger!!! in Chit-Chat

Even more worrying than the actual things Hitler was responsible for like killing millions of people and laying most of Europe to waste (which is bad enough) is the fact that he was probably the first and only politician to actually do the things he said he would when he rose to power.

If you think about it that’s pretty scary.

Re: There’s a funny smell in here… in Chit-Chat

I’ve just been round my mates house.
I don’t know how, but his dog smells like it’s dead, but it still moves…

Re: bands like therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

No-one really sounds like T? but I always think of The Almighty when I hear some T? licks and vice-versa.

Jonestown Mind by The Almighty has a very T? ring to it I think. And Mr C himself is on that track… :D

Re: Hitler was a tax dodger!!! in Chit-Chat

And he was a teatotaler, vegetarian and anti hunting…not that that’s bad, but he was.

Re: New Megadeth in Other Bands & Artists

Kick the Chair is the best track on the album, and a great track on it’s own. the rest of the album is OK.

Re: One hundred albums you should remove from your collection in Other Bands & Artists

I’ve got 7, and there’s some right old crap in that list anyway.

Nine inch nails ferchrissakes.
Morrisey (is a twat). Jeez.

Re: worst band on earth? in Other Bands & Artists

Oh come on…
This is easy.

KISS.
Never in all my life have I heard such insipid drivel.
They are the suckiest band who ever sucked.

Dennis wrote:

Hmmmm, funny how other artists of the time managed longer albums then, huh?!

I think that vinyl in the early 70’s could stretch to 20 minutes per side maximum. Then they managed to stretch to 25 minutes or so. But who cares. Never mind the quantity. Look at the quality.

Anyway…

Buy these 6 first in this order of genius…

Sabotage (well, duh!)
Vol 4
Master of Reality
Paranoid
Black Sabbath
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

Then you could pick up Technical Ecstacy when you feel rich and Never Say Die when you feel a bit completist because apart from a few tracks, it’s poor.

Re: Jeans poll… in Chit-Chat

Other.

You should have put a colour option in.
Mine are black and very cheap off the market.

Re: Iron Maiden in Other Bands & Artists

I voted for Paul.
Bruce is a great vocalist but I just prefer the first 2 albums. Not only are the songs better but I prefer Paul’s vocals.
This might sound stupid but Bruce’s voice is “too perfect” for a metal band.

Re: Do men ever leave for the other woman? in Chit-Chat

I did once. Big mistake.
I should never have had the “other woman”.
I ended it and stayed with the missus after a couple of weeks.

I’m gonna go for AC/DC If You Want Blood.

I wish there was a live AC/DC DVD with Bon Scott.

Re: Favourite buffet snack item! in Chit-Chat

Scotch egg.

They rule so much.
Whenever we used to have a buffet at my old job, the rest of the office had to protect the scotch egg plate from me in rugby scrum fashion.

I love ‘em. Yumm.

Must go shop get scotch egg.. *drools*

Don’t see how growing up like that could mean I know nothing about the countryside. Am particularly incensed as was back there at the weekend and went for a run (along the road, wasn’t even in a field) - load of hunters out either hunting or exercising their dogs, which meant running through a pack of 20 or so hounds, which was not the nicest of experiences.

Hi CE.
Sounds exactly like where I grew up.

I was talking to a guy at work the other week about fox hunting, and he said that more foxes are killed on the roads than hunts kill each year. Which kind of makes the hunt a bit crap I say.
What kind of “essential service” is outdone by accident.

Re: Scopophobia (DVD & CD Collector’s Edition) in General Therapy? Topics

Well said Dennis.
I think that one of the reasons a lot of illegal downloading of stuff off the internet goes on is because the record companies pull stupid tricks like this.

I’ll state here and now (not that anybody cares) that this is a rip-off. Here’s why… We’re being penalised for being loyal fans. I’ve bought a few cd’s within days of release, only to find it re-released with extra stuff on later. The Stereophonics album JEEP was the last time.
We buy stuff as soon as it comes out, then a few months later someone strolls into HMV and gets bonus stuff for being a “casual” fan. Not that I dislike casual fans, but this stuff burns me up. It’s effin wrong.

Re: Therapy? at the Bulldog Bash in Therapy? Live

I go to the odd MAG do now and then. As the years pass I go to less and less, and lately I haven’t been to one for ages.

I’ve got a Yammy 900 and I prefer the naked look to the fully faired race replicas. Basically because I couldn’t afford one. :D
A few of my mates have got Harleys, but they do nothing for me.
I’d only own Kawasaki, Yamaha or Triumph.

My problem with the “bash” is that I’ve been singled out at a few in the past for “attention” and had my bike targetted for “free shopping” by bikers who belong to certain “societys” if you catch my drift.

Re: Therapy? at the Bulldog Bash in Therapy? Live

If you ride bikes and you understand the world of bikers you may have an inkling why.
If not then it’s very hard to explain.
Do you ride bikes?

Re: NANE - Best T? album by a mile! in General Therapy? Topics

NANE is growing on me a lot.
Great sound.
Great tunes.

As with nearly every other T? album it’s got it’s own sound, and is something that will get played a lot. :D

Re: Therapy? at the Bulldog Bash in Therapy? Live

I remember wanting to go to that, but didn’t. I don’t go to that event no matter who’s on. And it’s only 20 minutes from my house. And I was pissed off, but I will not go to that event. :(

Re: I can hear that “St. Anger” influence in the new album… in General Therapy? Topics

If anything…the drum sound on StAnger is copied from Troublegum. That “pingy” style. So T? got there first and did it better. :)

Re: NANE - Best T? album by a mile! in General Therapy? Topics

Only had 1 listen so far (bought it today) and it’s certainly a different album to the last few. Early Therapy sounds in there. I need to listen again, but I’m not dissappointed. Will it replace SP-YF as my fave album? Dunno about that.

One thing I LOVE is the sound of Andy’s guitar. Particularly on perish the Thought during the verse bits. Fantastic. And the overdubs in that track are superb.

:D

Then the toffee-nosed gits will try and ban something you like for no good reason.

Re: Likely fox-hunting ban in Chit-Chat

Well I haven’t posted for a while but this looks like a nice juicy topic to get stuck into.

I have no real strong opinion on fox-hunting, but I lean heavily towards banning it.

What I want to know is…do any of you guys know the numbers involved here.

1/ How many foxes do hunts kill each year?
2/ How many foxes die in traffic?
3/ How many people do the hunts “employ”?
4/ How many foxes are shot or killed by other means?
5/ Are they the “pest” they’re supposed to be? How much livestock do they kill?

Cheers
