Re: What distortion units do have? in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
I’ve never had any probem from the local Belfast music shops-in fact, they’ve all been really enjoyable to visit. Awww.
I use a Gibson Voodoo V (Yes, a GIBSON VOODOO V!- I love my guitar:)) through a Daelectro Black Paisley and then through a GuitarPort, into my Dad’s laptop, into my horribly bad PA head, to my mystery 20 year Carlsburg cabinet, with the torn speaker hanging out of the Cab and sounding fantasic! God bless you, Line 6. Now, I’ll need to buy a new speaker…

Re: Hey guys its tab request time ;-) in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
I was fiddling around with that opening riff- does this sound more right? I couldn’t hear the high-pitched 14th fret on the G-string on the CD, I think.

Re: New Songs in Therapy? Live
I’ve head Panic! and Plebians. Both sounded damn good to me. Didn’t Micheal say they’d only written 19 new songs (‘only’!)?

Need ‘Stories’ Tab! in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Title: Need ‘Stories’ Tab!
Well, not need, but this song is doing my head in! I just can’t work out the main riff! And Scobophobia just made things worse- there’s like one short shot of Andy’s fingers- between chords I might add- and then its gone again. If you couldeven tell me what strings are used… I’d be ever so grateful. BTW, I already checked suicidepact.com, and it is definitly on the wrong tracks.

Re: Guitars in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Just go and see what feels right at the shops, then buy that, or another model of that, or something that has been described as similar but better/cheaper depending. That said, check out Parker guitars, if you’ve got the money, because I don’t, and I want one! That said i’m very happy with my ‘GIBSON VOODOO SERIES FLYING V- LIMITED EDITION, NOT MADE ANY MORE’. Sorry, I like to broadcast that.

Re: HELP ME in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Get either a line 6 ‘POD’ or the ‘Guitar Port’. They can do all sorts- and give VERY weird effects when needed. Plus, they mae my PA head that I got at an auction with 4 cabs for 30 quid sound like Marshalls! Up yours, big spenders!

Re: Searching for T?-covers in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
It’d probably be easier listing the songs we HAVEN’T covered. At least 1 track from every album, I think… at least once.

Re: Misery (acoustic) tab in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
If you’re looking for pure simplicity, go for either God Kicks or Diane (just stum the chords along, Am F G etc. etc.). If you want to try some riffs, go for Screamager or Jam Jar Jail (easy solo too, if you’re up to it).

Re: Guitarist & Bassist Wanted For The Dangerfields in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Hey, caught you guys supporting T?, and I’ll probably see you supporting The Misfits (fuckin’ yes!- Marky Ramone and Dez from Black Flag as well, COME ON!). You guys played a damn good set, and it was probably the loudest thing I’ve ever heard to boot!
By the way, did you guys record in Einstein studio in Antrim, because I think I heard Frankie mention you when my band were recording there…

Re: Preferred Plectrums? in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
I use the Big Stubby for bass. I have HORRIBLE control if I try to play with my fingers- pops every note (not good). For guitar… depends what I’m playing, but the grey dunlops are fairly standard, so that’s what I tend to stick to. Or gibson mediums, because they came with my guitar.
The guitarist in my band only ever uses the tiny little plectrums, like the type used for jazz lead, except he’s playing ‘So much for the 10 year plan’ etc. with them- he won’t use normal sized picks for anything.
Also, I never for caluses (damn my spelling!) on my fingers. Even after 6 years of playing guitar, acoustic, bass… even double bass, my fingers are still pretty soft, but I’m used to it, and it doesn’t hurt anymore.

Re: Hey guys its tab request time ;-) in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Its realy weird, the bit after the 2-note hammer-on. Its pretty much just harmonics (Touch the strings really gently and slide up), but I can hear full notes being played at the same time. 2 guitar tracks?

Re: My Band in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
I’m in a band, but we havn’t played any gigs yet. I think almost all the songs we practice with are Therapy? songs. Screamager (of course- but we start off in Black Sabbath’s ‘Paranoid’, then when the solo is supposed to kick in, the Screamager drum intro does instead- works great, try it), Potato Junkie, Stop It You’re killing me, Knives, Misery, Dancin’ With Manson, Teethgrinder, Meat Abstract, Diane (punked up with power chords) and probably many more. Our bass player (who you may know as gwared on these very message boards) is getting a bit annoyed at playing T? all the time and not expanding horizons or writig anythig, so we’re gonna have to keep writing more.
By the way, we can’t thnk of a band name- I came up with Machination, but the guys think its too ‘clumsy’-what do you think?

Re: Good Therapy? Sound in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
I can get a perfect ‘Misery’ sound by using a Line 6 guitar port and… using the preset ‘Green Day- Basket Case’ distortion from the website. Really. Honest.

Re: Belfast Bruce Dickonsons rock show in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
Yeah, I’d like a copy of the show, too, but I got exactly 0 bootlegs of Therapy? to trade with.

Re: 1st May 2004-What a show!!!!!!!!! in Therapy? Live
I saw CKY in Dublin a few months ago, so it was over here-ish. Cost me (and by ‘me’, I mean my parents:) over 100 pounds, but it was worth every penny, cuz they rocked. I’ll admit Funeral played a great set- they were tight, enthusiastic and energetic, but its just not my cup of tea, I’m afraid. Don’t worry, I’m sure CKY will be back after the new album and the new Sleepaway Camp film (and Deron’s little known about role in ‘A moth to the flame’)- maybe they’ll play Belfast this time around…

Re: 1st May 2004-What a show!!!!!!!!! in Therapy? Live
I was there with gwared and a few other chums (One of my mates barged in and I ended up in the second row instead of the first… grr!). Anyway, amazing show (definitly in my top 2… out of the 3 gigs I’ve been to, but I still can’t imagine anybody on earth topping either T? or CKY). Funeral didn’t do anything for me, I’m afraid (except the Black Sabbath cover), so I pretty much just waited for them to finish. And then… HA HA HA THERAPY?! Amazing set. Dangerfields are OK, but yeah, nobody was ready (random trivia-my band recorded in the same studio as them). Damn good night, happy memories… never see the likes of it again until the T? guys come home again. God bless us, one and all. Except Spides, they can rot in hell.

Re: Idea for show(s) in Therapy? Live
Ahem… I think you’ll find that Belfast is the only place for a show of this nature…
It’d be pretty frigging cool though- Evil Elvis and Fat Camp are great. I would have put Dancin’ with Manson on the list, but they played it this tour, so… Innocent X and Loser Cop. Or Wall of Mouthes, of course… Jam Jar Jail! O.K., more stuff off Babyteeth and Suicide Pact is what it boils down to.
