Re: Electronic drums - Roland in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
You should be able to go into the “brain” and change the volume of the cymbal pads by going to edit(not sure which you have but most of the Roland “brains” work the same)and hit the cymbal pad and there should be a + or -.Hit the pad and hit the + button up til it reaches a louder volume.usually around 13 to 16 should be the number(or maybe higher). You can control all your individual pad volumes that way.
As far as the beaters on the pedals they should be as close as possible together that way both feet are getting the same throw from both beaters.
hope this helps.

Re: Drum Kits in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)
Have you checked E-bay?I’m not sure what kits they have in the UK as far as starter kits go but you can’t go wrong with Pearl,Pacific,Mapex(shudder),Sonor and Tama. They all should have decent hardware as well(1 to 2 cymbal stands, hihat stand, snare stand and kick pedal).Zildjian,Paiste,Stagg,Sabian,Meinel, etc all make great lower line cymbals as well. They also have box sets usually a 16”crash,14”hats and a 20” ride that’s pretty reasonable.

Mapex had to start selling their kits overseas cuz noone in the States wants to play them…big sellers in the UK,I’m not sure why…not my drum company of choice but I’m sure they take care of Neil so that’s all that matters

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics
I just got OFCA on import yesterday and once again I’m not digging Neils drumming.I really liked his playing on HA but slowly his stuff is going the Fyfe way with sound and the high end snare. Also the drums seem to get buried in the mix on the album.Don’t get me wrong he’s a good drummer but his stuff isn’t doing it for me in T?But then again i’m a big Graham fan and his drums were always up front and sounded good…Neils don’t sound that great.Ok that’s my rant about the album.

I don’t think Lars is a great drummer.Quite boring if you ask me…the earlier stuff was cool but I think he really lost his way.

Re: Rush in Other Bands & Artists
You should get the last studio album Vapor Trails…really fucking good.I would say their later stuff is hit or miss at times but not weak…Name a band that’s been around as long as they have and tell me that every release they put out is strong.most of the bands that are putting out albums that have been around for as long as Rush all have had outside help to write their songs.See them live…great show!
