Re: Favourite Album song opener and closer in General Therapy? Topics

I’m always surprised when I hear people like 30 seconds. It’s one of my least favourite tracks and I think it has one of the most ill-advised, over-extended ending of any song. Give me Brainsaw, Stalk&Slash, Walk through Darkness or Potato Junkie over 30 Seconds any day of the week.

That’s a pretty good interview! First I had ever heard of “dubstep”, but Wikipedia has now enlightened me

Re: So what is the cover that you wanna hear in Therapy? in Chit-Chat

I think “Diane” by Husker Du would be a good song for Therapy to cover. I envisage it being played on three xylophones.

Hungover Housemate Awakener in Other Bands & Artists

Im a sadistic bastard at heart, and whenever my housemates are out on the lash and I’m not, I love to wake them early next morning with an great foot-stompin’ fist-in-the-air pumpin’ tune. A few years ago my “wake up everybody and make them hate me” song was Meat Abstract.

I stayed up all last night as I have an assignment due soon, so I’m a bit hyperactive. This morning i woke the sofa-folk with Complete Control by the Clash (as I dance in the middle of the living room obviously to catch a glimpse of the grimaces).

Does anyone else do this or am I the only one?

And has anyone any suggestions of good songs to use?

Re: If you could bring a dead rock star back to life in Other Bands & Artists

I’d love richey to walk into the studio one day, (nicky laying down some lyrics, james playing a melody, sean warming the stool) and go

“Where did it all go wrong fellahs? By the way guys, where’s my paycheck? I’m off to the Caribbean proper”

Richey Edwards, shake up the manics a bit if he came back. And he’s the most likeliest dead rock star to come back!

Re: Rehearsal June 2008… in General Therapy? Topics

Listen naysayers, can ye not reserve judgement until the album comes out? If you don’t like a WORK IN PROGRESS (sorry for caps, but some of ye are forgetting this lil’ caveat) then wait until the finished version to lambaste it. I’m sure it disheartens the band when people insult their work when they have the generosity to upload a film of them rehearsing.

I wish Therapy? in future don’t bother to upload anything before the release date as people attack it without considering it’s not a finished product yet. I personally like it, but if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t comment negatively upon something that is still in a nascent state. I’m not saying we all should love it like a bunch of sheep, just cease with the negative comments.

Altimerz: a mixture of being an “old-timer” and having “Alzheimers”

:D sorry…

listen to some tunes to cheer yourself up in the short term, in the long term you should talk to somebody you trust. life slaps us in the face more often than we’d like, it’s good to confide in someone

Re: Rehearsal June 2008… in General Therapy? Topics

I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an instrumental on the new album. the name Mingusisyphus sounds like the a name you would give an instrumental track, although the clip shown very likely is not mingusisyphus.

I like it, sounds like another curveball of an album!

Re: The Download Thread :D in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

I’ve always disliked Skinning Pit as a song (and Pleasure Death in general). the version from Drogheda posted by the band on this site is dire in my opinion. The version you posted Allroy actually makes me think twice about the tune itself, its much better than the album version as well

Re: New album producer confirmed in General Therapy? Topics

You can’t put a precise timeline on writing/recording/producing something. there are so many factors involved in creating a finished product that its a bit churlish to complain if it’s a few months later than you expected it. I don’t know about everyone else, but my life doesn’t revolve so much around one band that i put a red circle around a particular month on my calendar. I don’t want any of my fave bands to turn into sausage factories, churning out albums at a set rate. we should cease acting as productivity inspectors and just enjoy the music when it comes out. I hate to say it, but some fans seem just one step away from drawing pie-charts and bar-graphs detailing the band’s projected rate of output. I think Teethgrinder was spot-on in his comment, cheers for the laugh as well mate!

Re: Casey Jones Reaction Songs in General Therapy? Topics

Wow I thought they would be of much poorer quality than the first two, as they were done in the studio with Our Love Must Die. The latest three arent that bad, i think Andy was listening to a lot of Nick Cave for Marie Celeste
