Re: Rock Werchter 2005 in Other Bands & Artists
I’m not gonna make the same mistake this year like last year.I’m buying that combi-ticket the moment it’s availeble and decide later if I’m going. It’s gonna be sold out anyway so it will be very easy to get rid of it if I’m not going. Last year it was already sold out when I decided to go :(

Re: Pukkelpop in Other Bands & Artists
@fiestaboy: the killers were really good. They sound indeed al lot like Franz Ferdinand. Thanks for advising them (otherwise I wouldn’t had seen them)!:) The only negative thing I can say about it is that they were playing on the wrong stage. They stood in de club, wich is one of the smalest stages and it is placed close to main stage. So unfortunately when velvet revolver started to play you could hear a mix of the killers and velvet revolver (and that is not very good combination :()
Ash was also really good. The plan was to leave a bit earlier so we could have a nice place to see the offspring. But Ash was so good so we stayed till the end.
@Allroy:Mondo Generator sounded very very much like QOTSA. There was not al lot of crowd waching them. They had a big technical problem near the end: only the drum worked. So they went off stage. Nick Oliveri was really pissed off, but to my surprise they came back on stage after, i think 5 min, and still played 2 or 3 songs.
Shame on me, i didn’t go and see the twilight singers  (I was too tired at the moment). Am i a bad person now?:( ;)

Re: Pukkelpop in Other Bands & Artists
To be honest, I ‘m not a really big fan of the music of papa roach. I went to see him because the people who were with me really want to go and see. He ask in the beginning of the set to turn the bass guitar louder (with effect, you could feel it trembling). The show wasn’t too bad:there was a good interaction with the crowd, the people where jumping and there were some circle pits. The music: it was Papa roach like I knew it from the radio: hard and shouting.

Please give a report about Soulwax. They’re playing in Bochum in about two weeks and I consider going there. The new album got good reviews but seems to have more electronic sounds on it.
Enjoy the festival.
Soulwax disappointed me a bit.:( Not the music they played, it was really good. There is indeed a bit more electronic sound in it (a trace of 2 many dj’s?). But they couldn’t get the crowd moving. When I saw them several years ago (werchter) you could see they had a lot of fun on stage. This time they all looked so serious, like they were afraid of doing something wrong (I dunno). They said they were nervous because it was the first time in 4 years they were playing in Belgium again. I really hope it was just that and that it will pass.
One little detail: they lights on the belgian highways aren’t lit anymore at night (only on the drive outs they are still on). It’s the only wise decision the government took in years to do some savings.

Re: Pukkelpop in Other Bands & Artists
Yes, I survived the three days on Pukkelpop. It was really fantastic, that sphere on pukkelpop is ten times better then the one on werchter. This was also the first time in three years there was no water in my tent!
I tried to see as much bands as I could (sitting still on a festival is not good for me :)). Here is a list of the bands I saw, if you want to know something about one of the shows tell me, I’ll let you know!
Th:the cribes, fifty foot combo, grand national, kaizers orchestra, papa roach, the killers, ash, the offspring, faithless
Fr:Silverine, bloodhoundgang, Mauro, zornik, elbow, the streets, mondo generator, the darkness, dEUS, the chemical brothers
Sa:mint, nailpin, girls in hawai, fokoffpilisiekar, franz ferdinand, graham coxon, soulwax, lambshop, the bronx, felix da housecat, the white stripes, 2 many dj’s

They really should put that guy on the main stage during pukkelpop :p
No Seriuos, just to see the reaction of the crowd and personally I think the reaction would be rather positive …
I just got some good news from a friend: he’s going to pukkelpop after all! For some reason he isn’t going to France like he said before. :)

Pukkelpop in Other Bands & Artists
Title: Pukkelpop
This week it’s Pukkelpop in Kiewit (Belgium): the best three days of my year! Half a year ago I said: I’m going even if it has to be alone. Very very very unfortunately this last one seems to come true :( :( None of my friends are going and my brother only comes on Saturday…
Anyway, I’m still going and it will be great!!
If you want some info about this festival http://www.pukkelpop.be is the place to be!
