The secret track off Suicide Pact. I’d pick it, if only because of its headfucking brilliance!! :D

The tracks fine, but I never count “hidden tracks”, for one thing you always have to fast forward through 5-10 minutes of dead air.

Best closing tracks are the one’s where once the song is done the CD stops and you go WOW!

For me it’s a really tough choice with 30 seconds just edging out Brainsaw. But it didn’t win all out going away, away, away, away…

Re: My N.A.N.E. dilemma!! in General Therapy? Topics

I gave up on Amazon.

Here’s the HMV link. I think the price went up a few pounds. But I also got a VAT credit (I assume that’s Value Added Tax, but I don’t know how it really works.)

Re: Scopophobia Regional Coding in General Therapy? Topics

I bought a DVD player with a PAL to NTSC converter built in for $40 at Best Buy. It was listed right on the box.

The only issue is the picture for some of the PAL discs can tend to skip a little if there is real quick movement on screen. But what do you expect for $40? With Scopophobia it isn’t bad.

Re: My N.A.N.E. dilemma!! in General Therapy? Topics

you’re right on the exchange rates, but not sure where you got the price. I ordered it a few days ago through HMV and it cost me 11.99 pounds (shipping and all), which is roughly $22 US which is roughly $26.40 canadian.

I got the shipping notice a day later, so I should be getting it any day now. Who hoo! Soon I’ll know what all the NANE related posts are all about.

Re: NANE - Best T? album by a mile! in General Therapy? Topics

I like how T? changes it up every album. Keeps them from getting stale. Sometimes’s some songs can fall a little flat, but they keep it interesting.

Granted this is my the major labels hate them because they can’t pigeonhole them.

Which is why the majors blow!

Re: Shameless or Semi-Detached? in General Therapy? Topics

Tightrope Walker, Straight Life, Suing God, Church of Noise and Lonely Crying Only, pummel anything off of Shameless. Shameless has some quality songs on it but it has some weak stuff too.

Re: American unable to get NANA, need UK help!!! in General Therapy? Topics

Hopefully third time’s the charm :D

Amazon UK didn’t give a ship date so I cancelled
Amazon US originally said 2-3 days, and now it’s pushed out to Oct 24, so I cancelled and ordered through HMV..Thanks for the Tip

This thread caused me a headache, but eventually I chose Nausea (Here I am, motherfucker).

Have to agree. Even though Screamager is a better song, Nausea is just a perfect opening song with it’s sort of menacing builing opening groove . All of my T? mix cds I’ve made always start off with Nausea.

Re: High Anxiety or Troublegum???? in General Therapy? Topics

Troublegum definitely has the highest number of great songs, so it gets my vote. But I have to say Infernal Love was their most well-crafter ALBUM, the way each song flowed into each other, setting the mood. Sort of went back to the 70’s where artists took the album-oriented approach and could care less about singles.

Re: Rare Isolation Video in General Therapy? Topics

At the bottom of the site’s video page there’s a little downloadable program for .viv files.

That sit’s got some cool rare live stuff and videos not on Scopophobia (Opal Mantra for one).

They look pretty junky, but beggars can’t be choosers.

The live clip of Me Vs You with “original” lyrics is pretty interesting, but the one for Tightrope Walker pissed me off, it ended right in the middle of the harmonized solo..my favorite part!

Also check out the making of Screamager video. It’s funny to see the babyfaced Andy..

Rare Isolation Video in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Rare Isolation Video

I just saw the alternate video for Isolation. You can download it off the Isreali T? site (see links section).

In the immortal words of Krusty the Clown “What the Hell was that!?!?!?!?”

I thought I was watching a cut scene from 8mm

I have a few questions.

How many times did that get aired?

Were any of the freaks in the raincoats played by the band?

And most importantly “Is that poor girl still alive?” if no one knows, I propose we call Nick Cage to go find her.

Re: American Curiosity in General Therapy? Topics

We may have invented crap-pop (debatable), but we had the problem under control in the mid-90 we had kicked the new kids to the curb and all was good until you guys decided to piss on our parade and send the spice girls over…EVIL!
Should have left well enough alone.

But we did give you Punk! via the Ramones. Give us credit for a good idea once in a while. Euro-(or anything for that matter) Disney is another story.

You have a point with the so-called “Reality” shows, thank god for DVDs. The only possible good outcome is the next generation of kids may be the most literate since there isn’t shit on TV! But just as much of that crap started in the UK so we can’t sholder the whole blame.

At one time I could have thrown up Star Wars in your face…but then Lucas had to go and make the latest movies which has pretty much wrecked it…

I’m depresing myself..right now The Matrix is on..another good example of something great until they made a sequal(s).

Ugh! I need a beer

Re: American Curiosity in General Therapy? Topics

I’m in no way going to say that the US companies don’t do stupid things. Especially the record companies.. But I have to place the finger of blame entirely at the Brits…

You guys have more than paid us back for the Revolution by unleashing two of the most insideous, horrible and sneaky weapons of mass annoyance ever to darken the Earth…

Spice Girls and American Idol (brought to us by Brit Simon Powell)

Nothing has done more damage to the fiber of American life then these.

But it’s backfired on you. Ha!Ha! You give us the Spice Girls and we send back a bunch of even worse Pop wannabee’s

That’s what you get!

And Yes! This tirade is completely brought on by the fact that I’m bitter that I have to import NANE!!

Hallelulya!!! Holy Shit!!! Where’s the Tylanol!

Re: Shameless - whats wrong with it?!? in General Therapy? Topics

I didn’t know there was an import version of Shameless until Disgracelands post. I decided to muck around Amazon to look for it.. For the US site their THerapy? stuff is somewhat scattered. I just typed in Therapy (without the ?) and got 70 some entries for musix. I found the import buried around item 50.

One question. Big Time isn’t a Peter Gabriel cover is it?

I see you can buy Denim Demon on a Turbonegro tribute comp.

just trying to determine if I should splurge for the import or go with the Turbonegro domestic comp.

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics

Not being a drummer myself I can’t comment on any of the technical bits. SO I’ll just comment on the effect each seems to have (to me) on the music.

Fyfe clearly had more of a contribution to shaping the overall sound of the band than the others. His rhythms were much more diverse, original and (pardon the pun) groovy.

Graham to me ,seemed much more of a steady pounding big hitter in the John Bonham vein. But I agree with sonofjaguare, the stuff on SPYF was great. Especially Ten Year Plan, the drums drove that sone more than the guitar.

Neil seems to be more of a jackhammer. It’ll be interesting to really listen to his contributions on the new CD.

Re: Most Depressive T? Song…??? in General Therapy? Topics

THe last song on the latest T? CD…because that means there are no more new songs until they record a new one…how’s that for a sappy answer.

Diane is their creepiest (funny that the Husker Du folks hate it)…but I’d have to say either “Gone” or “Bowels of Love”…actually Infernal Love as a whole is a bit of a downer.

Re: Shameless - whats wrong with it?!? in General Therapy? Topics

a little uneven. Dance, this one’s for you, gimmie back my brain, stalk and slash, are good. The rest didn’t do anything for me

Re: US release date? in General Therapy? Topics

Belive it or not, to save few bucks order it directly from Amazon Uk. ON the US Amazon site they had it for $33 (something like that), if you order it straight from Amazon UK it comes out to around $25-26 bucks accounting for Exchange rate. Plus it’s sketchy when you’d get it through Amazon (US). SO I said the hell with it and ordered directly from Amazon UK

Re: review of N.A.N.E and cover in General Therapy? Topics

Cover looks like the side-shot of a skyscraper, with one of the floors blowing up…not so much the WTC but the Nakatomi building in Die Hard when they blew the roof.

But I could be wrong… Could also look like three smokestacks pumping out smoke…

Maybe it’s purposely vague which would fit nicely as a play on the title.

Let’s See a B-Sides and Rarities Comp. in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Let’s See a B-Sides and Rarities Comp.

Anyone else out there like to see T? put out a CD of just their various B-Sides and odd compilation contributions?

So many of these are now out of print it be nice to see one for the newer fans or (like me) the older one’s born on the wrong continent.

There’s definitely plenty of great material that many of us have yet to hear…

Who’s with me!?

Maybe if enough of the WoMbats speak up they’ll do it…Like next year after the new album has been out a while and they’ve toured for it a bit..that way it doesn’t deflect anything from the new material which is still most important.

Thoughts? Complaints? Discuss…

Re: Scopophobia Regional Coding in General Therapy? Topics

Just pop it in your computer it works fine.
Also I was able to find a cheap ($50) DVD player which has a PAL to NTSC converter built in, which works good to.
