Re: First Therapy? experience? in General Therapy? Topics
Mine was summer of 94 parents had headed off to the States for the World Cup. I stayed behind bunking in a mates gaff (i was only 15!!) But they left me the house keys so I could switch on lights and the radio so people would think there was someone in (…what is with that. Like a robber is going to think, feck there’s a radio on in there I better not disturb them!!)
Anyway a mate gave me a lend of Troublegum and Hats off to the Insane. They played in Dallymount Park later in the year and I had to go!!! Brilliant!!!!!
Havn’t stopped loving their stuff

Re: Exclusive Therapy? webgig now available in General Therapy? Topics
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You
Just like to say a big THANK YOU to Therapy?
Just finished downloading the Web gig, I’ve listened to some “whispers” I’m in work so ssshhhh.
It sounds perfect, but not that I needed it but this re ignites my reasons for being a fan of this band. When they say they’re there for the fans. They really mean it!!!
Thanks again Therapy?
Look forward to the next Web Gig. Fingers crossed

Re: How old are Therapy? fans???? in General Therapy? Topics
I’m 28 and have been listen to Therapy? since Summer of 1994 when a mate lent me Hats of the Insane and Toublegum while my parents were away at the World Cup over in Atlanta.
I went to see them play in Dalymount park that year too. My first Gig too (I was a late started..sniff)
And I’ve never looked back. I’ve tried to see T? every time they play here in Ireland and have only missed them once back in May of 2003 when they played in Cork. A mate was getting married that weekend and I was the Groomsman so couldn’t bail out.
*whispers*I still have to get my Motorhead Ticket though…but I will

Re: Wikipedia in General Therapy? Topics
I personally loved the entry.
Filled in some blanks and confirmed stuff I wasn’t sure on.
I liked the “intensely loyal following” ref.

Re: Where is that black troublegum guitar..?! in General Therapy? Topics
I remember when they headlined the Point a while back. At the end of the gig Andy pulled some of the stings of his guitar and threw it into the audience.

Re: which therapy? line-up u prefer? in General Therapy? Topics
I would have to say what ever Line up is infront of me at the time.
They have never failed to delivary no matter who they had.
Plain and simple all members that have come and gone from Therapy? have been pure class

Re: what is ur fav therapy? album in General Therapy? Topics
I had to say Troublegum cause that album along with the EP Hats of to the Insane that introduced me to therapy?
I got a lend of them from a friend when my parents left me to take care of the house while they were at US’94
Didn’t mind one of the best summers ever!
Saw T? for the first time that year too.

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics
Totally love the new album.
Have been listing to it for the last few days in the car, had to do a few drops for work. One being in Baldoyle (mm spelling!!)
Had it on constantly and not once did I want to switch to something else.
Dopamine I have to say is my favorite.
Just my opinion, but I think this album combines alot of the feelings that are generated from alot of whats gone before. Sort of a blend of what makes Therapy?…well Therapy? :)
Will post more when I feel I can do it justice

Re: Rain Hits Concrete - Opinions? in General Therapy? Topics
Yup I like.
Fav track at the mo is Rain Hits Concrete.
Good Head Nodding and hitting air with fist song.
Though Cocaine Eyes be a good jumpy track me thinks oh yeah.
Play On good slow number for those drives in the rain haha. Only messing though probably would fit hehe Rain Hits Concrete.
All over FanFuckinTastic!!

Re: cd singles in General Therapy? Topics
For sure.
Only learned a few months ago that record companies own the album recording. The band still own the song, but recording is property of record company. Talk about suck!”
Bands only own live recordings.
mmm…k…could be totally wrong. Just a mate was ranting at me about this so kinda believed him

Re: cd singles in General Therapy? Topics
Finished download malarky.
Happy with the final product as it’s making music noises therapy? style.
But have to agree I like opening a CD box, tumbing through the inlay card (though Singles don’t generally have one) while listing to a few tracks.
However, does more money go to the band with this download thingy? Whats the percentage chart thing of what each faction gets.

Re: High Anxiety or Troublegum???? in General Therapy? Topics
Troublegum is excellent
But High Anxiety has alot of good tracks.
Hey Satan you Rock - always gets my vote and If it Kills me is a real toe tapper (K promise not to use that saying again tis a bit naff)
But can’t really deside which I Would perfer. For most it I’d stick on TroubleGum but still have a soft spot for High Anxiety

Re: Most Depressive T? Song…??? in General Therapy? Topics
Yeah Gone is quite depressing, but at it has balance cause there is a sense of hope, both in the feel of the music and the lyrics. It sounds all down and sad but it sort of has an under tone of soothing, and the chorus Hang On, It’s Gone, says to me hey it was sh*t bit it’s over so hang in there.
Personnally my most depressing song is Bowel’s of Love, cause of the line Nothings Darker than love that’s gone sour. This is because of my break up with my ex. The weeks that led to the final curtain were sh*t (thou nohting in comparison to the actual night) and I listened alot to Infernal Love and this line really struck home.

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics
You can never for get about Fyfe he was pure class.
But in saying that, all the drummers that have passed through the halls of Therapy? have fitted the bill.
And I agree after hearing the sample of Rise Up, it was YEAH. Neil is really shaping up had is really getting to grips with the Therapy? sound but at the same time bringing something new to the band. Which is what you want.
Keep up the good work Neil!! Much appreciated.

Quote (author unknown):
They are the greatest live band ever.
So fucking through. I’ve never had so much fun any-where else. !m!
Mist them this year cause of friends wedding the day before and function was on the day of the concert which also was in Cork so was no chance of sneaking of at somestage. Plus I was the grooms man so would have been killed. THough i thinking about it, it would probably have been worth it

Re: Are Therapy Rock Star Snobs??? in General Therapy? Topics
Sorry Mate but Therapy? are by far the friendliest and most dedicated towards their fans
I’ve e-mailed them a good few times and have they’ve replied, and it wouldn’t have bothered me if they hadn’t.At the end of the day I’m just one fan amoung thousands and Therapy? have always expressed their huge gratitude towards fans at the gigs through addressing the audience and also in their preformance.
Plus in the early days (around 95) my Ex-Girlf got a christmas card one year from them.
Not to mention Free Album Pro-Mos where tons of free stuff is given away!!!

I’d choose
1, Teethgrinder
2, Meat Abstract
3, Opel Mantra
4, Potato Junkie
5, Isolation
6, Joey
7, Gimme Back My Brain
8, Hey Satan You Rock
9, Screamager
10, Tango Romeo
11, 30 Seconds
12, Trigger Inside
13, Die Laughing
These aren’t in any particular order but are some of my more favored tracks, though I could add to the list but would just end up naming all songs
