I know most of you don’t appreciate Shameless, but that’s just because you’re all deranged ;-)

^ This.

Shamelss is a great album, one of my favourite T? releases.

I’ll get lambasted for this, but I’d much rather listen to Shameless these days than Troublegum.

Re: A Brief CracK Of Light in General Therapy? Topics

Really impressed with this album.

It’s quite dark, and quite stark in some places too, so might be a “difficult” album to come back to a lot…but I think it’s great that a band that has been going so long can push forwards into different areas and still retain what it is that makes them what they are.

Liking the sense of space in this album, as much as anything else - some really stripped down moments.

Different enough from CT to be worth making, similar enough to not be a let down (CT was effin’ ace, after all!)

Yes, I like.

This.

I could listen to an entire album’s worth of his playing alone.

Re: Should Andy play more solos? in General Therapy? Topics

Andy brings many great things to Therapy?, but a knack with a great guitar solo is not one of them - and I think he’d be the first to admit that, no?

Even as a guitar geek myself, I don’t miss guitar solos from Therapy? - the music doesn’t need them, there’s more interesting stuff going on between the vocal parts anyway.

Fuck. Me…

This sounds AMAZING.

So, great, this new album will send me back to the gibbering, drooling fanboy state I was in after Crooked Timber…

Re: shameless, any good? in General Therapy? Topics

NO idea why people think Shameless is duff and/ or simple.

It’s a great album, IMO, and way better than OCFA, which is the most disappointing of the recent albums.

Though actually, that’s me as well… woohoo!

I’ve bought four tickets…do I get a larger share than those who only bought one?

In the sleeve they thank some people called Rene and Sarah. Never heard of them.

Re: So let’s pick a title for the live-record! in General Therapy? Topics

They could do a split vinyl release with that Dj fella out of Gnarls Barkley and call it:

“Therapy? - Live. And Danger Mouse”

Re: So let’s pick a title for the live-record! in General Therapy? Topics

I think they would take that as a great compliment.

“Michael Jackson - The Unreleased Final Recordings”

Fuck all to do with Therapy? but it might help to shift a few copies…?

Therapy? Live At San Quentin.

Well, it worked for Johnny Cash, didn’t it?!

Re: Crooked Timber (Deluxe Gold)? in General Therapy? Topics

“It should be a good opportunity for those who’ve yet to get the album to catch up on what they’ve been missing.”

Don’t kid yourselves, it’s the fans who bought it first time around that get fleeced by this kind of thing. I mean, that buy this kind of thing.

Nothing against extra tracks, remixes etc but reissues this soon after a release are a bit insulting, in my opinion. Might as well sign to Roadrunner if you’re into that kind of thing.

Re: Troublegum at Sonisphere in General Therapy? Topics

I think doing Troublegum in its entirety is a pretty pooh idea, personally, but hey.

Re: How influential is / was Therapy? ? in General Therapy? Topics

Therapy? seem to me to be one of those bands that seem to exist in their own space - not hugely acknowledged in the media or by other bands but they keep plugging away and doing their own thing and fair play to them for that.

Anything fashionable is, by definition, bound to be unfashionable - so thank god Therapy? have never been fashionable!

I hope he wasn’t saying anything along the lines of “I bet mrs h has brought our batting average right down on this one” or some such offensiveness.

:D

Re: HA & NANE remastered digipacks in General Therapy? Topics

I think you can make a rock album sound punchier and brighter and therefore more rock n roll in some cases through remastering, but you’re right that sometimes you can polish the life out of a record.

Re: HA & NANE remastered digipacks in General Therapy? Topics

Fair comment, but putting the albums of gold discs with little or no input from the band/ producer isn’t going to get my vote.

Whilst we’re on the subject of audiophiles, it gets my goat these folk who show off their latest flashy iPod dock and boast of the sound quality and how much it cost them. If you want HiFi quality, use a HiFi, not a fucking iPod!

That’s not to say I don’t love my iPod as if it were my own offspring, of course.

It’s very rare that an unreleased song that gets tacked onto a reissue or expanded edition type thing turns out to be anything other than a throwaway curiosity.

My thoughts too.

Pointless reissue, too soon after the original releases, with negligable extra content but slightly fancy packaging…did T? sign to Roadrunner or something?!

Just not sure which Monday.

Re: New Therapy? Fanzine to be started - You decide here! in General Therapy? Topics

I like the idea of an electronic fanzine much better than a printed one, myself.

Having said that, is there really anything you could put on there that you couldn’t post/ scan/ link to on here? I’d say the WoM was as good a Therapy? fanzine as you’re gonna get!
