Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists
^ Oh, had a quick spin of their second album yesterday - sounded quite promising. Max really needs to start writing some better lyrics, though.

Re: What’s EveryOne watching in Chit-Chat
Currently working our way through series 2 of Ashes To Ashes on DVD, and watched Ocean’s 11 last night too - i.e. the remake with Pitt and Clooney and all that malarky.
Went to the flicks to see Never Let Me Go on Saturday. Very good, did a good job of capturing the mood of the book.

Black Label Society at the O2 Academy in Birmingham, Monday night.
Very good - very professional band, pretty good sound. Zakk looked a little like he was going through the motions at times, maybe he’s more subdued without the beer, I dunno.
Good gig all the same.

I’m a big fan of his blues stuff.
Gutted.

LOL yeah I don’t mind a bit of The Cult meself, to be honest. I just couldn’t stand there for a whole evening’s worth of I(ndi)an Astbury’s between-song banter. The music’s good but…well he’s just a tit, isn’t he?

Given that most of a haggis is oats anyway, the veggie ones ARE almost identical in taste.
It was a veggie one I was after myself in aforemention haggis/ shop not having any/ Scottish woman on till scenario shocker.

Back to the effing burglars of doom, some of you might have seen they went on to my mum’s and my brother’s Facebook pages and posted loads of random shite. Bit stupid, as now police are trying to track them down via the IP address. Anyway, mum was worried as she also had her WoM password saved so she’s asked me to tell you in case anyone’s had a random PM or summat. I’ve locked her account for now anyway.
Yes I heard about this. Baaaarstids.
Your mum text me an alternate email address to contact her on, but like a knob I deleted the text before I noted down the address. Would you mind PM’ing me it?

Brilliant work and some great live footage.
Could have been some more Eric Bell in it.
Yes, enjoyed that a lot myself, great stuff.

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists
A bit of Disintegration - The Cure this morning. Probably not the best music for that “Friday feeling” so it didn’t last long! But at least I switched over to radio 2 in time to hear Elton John say “fucking hell!” on national breakfast-time radio.
Last night’s journey home was Depeche Mode - Black Celebration.
I have to make up cool points after listening to John Mayer lots last week. I know, I know, you don’t have to say anything… I know…
*hangs head in shame*
This is worse than when I told Dan I liked Paramore…

This.
I could listen to an entire album’s worth of his playing alone.

Re: Should Andy play more solos? in General Therapy? Topics
Andy brings many great things to Therapy?, but a knack with a great guitar solo is not one of them - and I think he’d be the first to admit that, no?
Even as a guitar geek myself, I don’t miss guitar solos from Therapy? - the music doesn’t need them, there’s more interesting stuff going on between the vocal parts anyway.

I couldn’t find any haggis in my local supermarket, and I was going to moan at the checkout but I noticed the woman was actually Scottish* and I thought she might think I was taking the p*ss..!
(*bearing in mind I’m in Birmingham)

Fuck. Me…
This sounds AMAZING.
So, great, this new album will send me back to the gibbering, drooling fanboy state I was in after Crooked Timber…

just had a long talk with my postman ,apparenly all potmen this morning have been asked to concentate on smaller parcels and xmas cards and for the rest of the day and tomorrow , they are going to “blitz” everything ,and it looks like they are going to deliver into the evening ,he also added that there is a lot in the depot but they are confident everything will get delivered ,i know im talkin about my own area ,but i would imagine the same policy will be used nationwide
That’s great, but now the idea of getting stuff sent to my work address so as to avoid being out when it arrives is now going to mean that anything that turns up tomorrow will be sent back to the depot until at least 4th January. Brilliant, Royal Mail, leave it til the very last minute, eh? Besides, if it had arrived today, it’s still leaving it tight for me to get it to the people it is for.

Re: Quitting Smoking in Chit-Chat
The idea of being able to put £5 in a jar every day from what you save by giving up smoking is great - I don’t smoke and I have no idea how anyone on an average wage can afford to, so the idea of £5 extra in my back pocket EVERY DAY is a phenomenal idea.
Another thing to remember is this: People give up smoking every day. People just like you. They give up forever. It is possible, do-able - People do it. Be one of them that does!

Re: What’s everybody reading in Chit-Chat
I have been reading a book called…I think…The Highest Tide. I am about 15 pages from the end, and have been for about a month, since I keep completely forgetting about it.
It’s a great book, very nicely written. No idea why I haven’t finished the damn thing yet, except maybe it’s because I’m not made keen on the cover…

NO idea why people think Shameless is duff and/ or simple.
It’s a great album, IMO, and way better than OCFA, which is the most disappointing of the recent albums.
