Exactly. And to prove Divers’ point, read what the CEO of Apple has to say on this matter, urging record companies to drop the DRM madness.

Re: BBC Sessions - music through a cheap transistor in General Therapy? Topics

what’s with all this anti-itunes shit guys? noone’s forcing you to use it! so what’s your issue?

I am looking forward to downloading the tunes from the US store once they get there, if ever…

OCFA is still not on there, thankfully got mine in the mail.

Please tell me the download will be available from the US iTunes store as well, unlike the OCFA bonus song which was only available to UK iTunes… :(

hmmmm, i’m not sure about that! ive listened to it lots more now and i still think its pretty boring. I LOVE our white noise and Into the Light now and Sprung obviously but the rest of it? Just doesn’t have any magic to it and Dopamine… i hate to say is probably my least fave T? song of all time. :( Nevermind.

aye, dopamine… is just boring as hell, i keep skipping it as well as the song after it, don’t even know the name.

and to all who think shameless is good: i’m on your side! i just love the lyrics (thogh body bag girl is a skipper too)

plus, I really tried to like the new album, as I have not found one T? album to date I can’t put on at anytime, but I found I can only listen to OCFA when it’s in the background and i’m concentrating on something else. When I try to listen to it and have fun, I’m getting bored in a few minutes!

sorry guys, hope for the next album to be a better experience for me. and next time, get someone who does the mixing right :D

and please please pretty please work more on the lyrics! I adored T? lyrics ever since the ‘masturbation saved my life’ times, and all you have on OCFA is one measy line that’s worth remembering: ‘all you optimists can kiss my ass’.

sorry, i expected more, but hey! i still isten to the album occasionally and i paid for the copy, so you get the money you need to put out the next killer record for me!

just my couple of forints :D

A subwoofer definately helps, you suddenly pick up all these driving lows that were missing.

Nah, what I was saying that there’s too much bass on it in the first place. It’s all droning without a subwoofer.

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics

Exactly. Been through the album couple of times now, and I must say I enjoy it with headphones, but I can’t play it on the stereo. It just sounds totally crappy at loud volume. A shame. I love listening to Therapy? loud :D

forgot to add that the booklet is one of their finest though (not the cover, but the booklet)

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics

OCFA finally arrived yesterday in the mail, so I promptly put it on the Stereo to check it out.

The first thing i felt was that the album’s production is not really to my liking. I am a bass player and love the sound of bass (and mikehellx, your basslines are perfect), but the whole thing seems to have too much bass on it, it basically distorts everything else, and the guitars are nice, but a bit too prominent. I mean I can’t hear Neil’s wonderful drumming sometimes. It’s worst on Into the light, I mean I can’t make out the drums nor the guitars, it’s just one big grooving distorted mess.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the songs, well some of them anyway, most will grow on me i’m sure, but I somehow don’t feel the album is as special as every T? album and single was when I put them on (yes, that does include Shameless, which has one of the best lyrical content and great musical content too). And I have all albums and singles except Bad Mother (anyone can help me out on that one) and the RHC EP, cos the US iTunes store does not have it yet.

All in all this seems to be a well pieced-together album, with songs that are put together by the book. I somehow miss the unpredictability of the Babyteeth era, the clean sound of the Troublegum era, the lyrics like on Infernal Love/Shameless and the power of HA/NANE.

Oh, and am I the only one who thinks (gosh, never thought I would say this) that T? actually managed to record a boring, shit song? Yes, Dopamine, Seratonin, Adrenalin. I keep skipping it.

Might be a bit negative, but I still listen to it all the time, just to get into it more.

Re: itunes only Therapy? song in General Therapy? Topics

nope, i don’t work for apple :D

what i meant to say was that it’s not apple’s fault that there are different regions. it would be easier for them to have one central store. but the record labels have different licensing policies in different countries (like the region codes on DVDs, whoever thought that was a good idea).

yes, they require you to download their software, as it is a software based store, and not a web based one. ok, that’s their fault, still i find it is easier to navigate and faster than a web based store.

like I said, it’s not Apple’s fault, it’s the record label’s policies.
