I have a few friends who work for different labels and distribution companies and have heard a similar thing. Never heard of them myself, but the guys know what they are doing :)

Re: New Label? in General Therapy? Topics
Then i think you’re going to be very disappointed because that ain’t happening.
Sounds like they are doing the right thing, Spitfire haven’t been the greatest label and don’t seem to up date much on their website to let you know what is going on with the artists on the roster. T? still have a lot of clout and respect with there peers and in the industry so with the right backing and a Label that will work close with them and promote them properly then you never know what will happen. Bands that are just fucking shithouse have made come backs over the last few years, and as T? have never gone away and still release quality music then who knows.
Good Luck to them hope it works out :-)

It doubt it’s actually Andy.. i don’t really see him starting threads like whats your favourite T? album or song and listing his. I could be wrong but it seems a bit strange concidering he keeps out of stuff like that on here?

I think the whole thing has been a massive success, I’ve really enjoyed reading it all and Rene and Sarah have done a top job putting it all together, and respect to the Band for answering every question.
With this and the Web gig last year it’s been really cool the things that get put together for us.
:)

Babyteeth… i was obsessed with them after it was finished, i had never heard anything like it before and it was so raw and exciting. SPYF and NANE had similar effect :-)

why did they leave off the excellent versions of Our Love Must Die and 30 Seconds
Maybe the tapes couldn’t be found.. I’m sure they would have been added if they had. The multi versions of things was just because it was meant to be a complete or as complete as they could be BBC sessions cd. :)

Well the last band i did were my mates the Contortionists who are shit but in such an amazing way that they become quite good. £140 was all they could afford and they only made that after giving hand jobs down at the docks for three months… but for lack of money, equipment and talent i think the end product sounded quite good. :)
I would up my fee of course for this job… i would add Maltesers to the beer and ciggies.

Re: The Q+A replies…? in General Therapy? Topics
I would love too… and be well up for the Challange,:D. I have never had any band complain so far… critisism will always happen, I’ve always come from the thinking if the band is happy and you are then everyone else can get fucked:)
My main worry would be budget… I’m guessing they would have one.. and in the past few years I’m not too used that. The last band I did a favour for i got recorded their whole album for £140 and they just paid me in beer and Cigarettes.

I honestly don’t know… i barely remember doing it, I just had my Boss telling me off the next day because he witnessed the whole thing and it was a client party so he filled in the blanks.

I was pissed and thought he was someone else… i kept telling him how much i liked his music till he said he was from M People and then i told him how utterly shit they were and walked off.

Re: When Troublegum was nominated for the Mercury Prize… in General Therapy? Topics
I forgot all about M People winning it… makes me feel that I should have insulted Their percussionist more when i did. The Mercury thing is a load of toss anyway, the judges are always so fucking dull when they talk about the artists.

Leave it Squall, it’s old news and as the band read the site I’m sure they are bored of hearing about it too. :)

Re: Therapy? Q&A August 2007 in General Therapy? Topics
I’m personally a big fan of your darker and more noisy albums Like Babyteeth, Nane and Suicide pact.
I’ve heard Andy in Particular say that SPYF is one of the albums he is most proud of… Is there any reason why songs from this are left out of the setlist more than other albums… is not having the second guitar player or cello player a factor in this?
I know playing the hits is sort of expected, but with such a strong catalogue to choose from it’s a shame that some songs from all the albums miss getting an airing once in a while.
Cheers for your time :)
