hmmm…the way I see it, you got one kick-ass pup on the Melody Maker (P90)

or three average pups on the Epiphone.

I’d go for the MM to be honest…might not have the looks, but the sound should be very good…playability is always solved with a good setup ;)

having said all that, if you really want an SG, try and save up the extra cash and get a used Gibson SG special…or one of the faded ones with the P90s…you’ll get good pups and hardware, alongside the cool SG shape :)

actualy, I have decided to pick up some vintage Mustang parts from ebay, and put a late ’60s “Partstang” ;)

The RD series were released in the 70s because Norlin, which at the time owned Gibson, also owned Moog Synthesisers.

So their idea was to make a guitar that had Moog electronics on it…they bombed spectacularly, and even back then retailed more than a Les Paul :eek:

I like both…I got a 1967 Jazzmaster…I also got a 1964 Jazzmaster, but I’m selling it to get a 60s SG Special with P90s.

I like using guitars for different sounds, so both are cool by me :)
