Re: Andy interviewed on The Jekyll and Hyde Show (106FM Jerusalem) in General Therapy? Topics

very good interview!
i’m getting so excited about the new album/tour …
there’s only a few bands left where I get that feeling before a new record comes out …

First I’ve heard of the song too. It doesn’t sound like it ‘became’ anything off the album, so probably just a song that fell by the wayside.

well, that intro/verse - riff became, in my opinion, “stand in line”. rhythm and speed are different, so is the rest of the music and the lyrics of course, but there
is enough in there that reminds me of “stand in line”. :)

Re: This is the year… in General Therapy? Topics

and of course: i do think that the new album will not dissappoint. i look forward to it so much.
and i think it will be a good year for the boys.

Re: This is the year… in General Therapy? Topics

suicide pact is one of their best and it’s THE album that got me really into them and wanted me so see them live for the first time, which i did.
i’ve been listening to troublegum and nurse before, cause my older brother had the albums, and i liked them a lot already. but with suicide pact i’ve became the hardcore
fan that i am now. i didn’t really like shameless at first, except for a few songs like i am the money which i liked from the first hearing, but now the rest of the songs has
grown on me too. high anxiety was top, but it’s one of the albums i don’t listen to very often now after a few years have gone by. n.a.n.e. and o.c.f.a. are both top albums
in my opinion, especially n.a.n.e. which was, just like suicide pact, kind of an statement, it just had a special feeling to it.

Re: new stuff (Clowns Galore) in General Therapy? Topics

i like the idea of them producing.
with a good engineer involved (pete bartlett anyone?) and good mixing and mastering guys it should be fine!

Re: new label is demolition records !!! in General Therapy? Topics

i’m just excited about the fact that it’s a worldwide deal, which is a step forward.
ok, they might some cheesy bands on there (nonetheless, many of them still draw large crowds in the US of A), but i’m shure the lads know that themselves
and know what they’re doing.
besides that, demolition has also electric eel shock, and that’s a hell of a great band … also, who says that they have to tour only with labelmates?!

Re: shameless - underrated and ahead of it’s time? in General Therapy? Topics

yep. i like quite a lot of his work. also his own band skin yard was damn cool, and his solo-records too. last one came out in 2006, it’s called “permanent fatal error” and really rocks. me favourite record that he produced is probably bruce dickinson’s “skunkworks”, great stuff.

he was deffo the right man to produce shameless, but his “style” of production and sound wouldn’t fit on most other t?-records as it would
make the songs sound too “dry” i think.

Re: shameless - underrated and ahead of it’s time? in General Therapy? Topics

yeah, i also like jack endino’s production very much. the man just has good taste and does not overproduce the records …

shameless - underrated and ahead of it’s time? in General Therapy? Topics

i must say that shameless is the t?-album i like the least but i still think
it has some great songs and some great moments. my favourites are probably “i am the money” and “stalk&slash”.

i listened to it yesterday and i think this album was ahead of it’s time. to me, it sounds very retro-rock, specially
the drum-work. so i’d call it a retro-rock-album, and then i thought, that whole retro-rock-scene got big a few months
after shameless was released. the strokes, the hives, white stripes, etc. all got big around 2001/2 …
maybe some of the songs on shameless, f.e. tango romeo, alrite, etc. would be considered a masterpiece if one of those bands
had written it … so maybe the lads were ahead of the time (once again) …

what do you think?

Re: Therapy? Q&A August 2007 in General Therapy? Topics

- will you please keep releasing albums and touring for the rest of my life (at least)? i’m 26 … ;-)

- where do you still find inspiration after all these years?

- was there ever a decision made, that you now consider a mistake (career-wise)?

- why don’t you release your albums in the USA on some indie-label or something like that? i can’t believe that no label would release it and i also think some bands (maybe clutch etc.) would take you out on tour there if you’d ask …

- could someone of you guys please write the “story to the song” for each album please?

cheers,
martin (vagabond)
:)

Re: Should t? stay trio? in General Therapy? Topics

trio all the way.
though i really like martin too and it was also great when he was in the band.
but the trio-lineup has the extra-magic.

Re: Exclusive Therapy? webgig now available in General Therapy? Topics

received the sleeve yesterday. :D

i think it looks fine, the whole project had a DIY-attitude so the way the sleeve is done just fits to that.
