Re: sg owners unite! in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

i have a red epiphone SG. i love the look and the sound of the SGs, though the neck going down can be a pain sometimes when playing gigs.
i played about 20 gigs with it and used it for some recording.

i also own a squier strat, which was my first guitar, a martinez dsh700, which is a fine guitar (strat-shaped) with a massive sound (and you can shape the sound for every music-style you want to play) but it’s just too heavy for playing gigs.

so my prefered guitar at the moment is my ibanez axs-32, which is rather LP-shaped but with double-cutaway (like the SG) and not as heavy. it has a really great thick sound cause it has thru-body-stringing … i’m really satisfied with it. and it looks killer!

Re: shameless - underrated and ahead of it’s time? in General Therapy? Topics

yep. i like quite a lot of his work. also his own band skin yard was damn cool, and his solo-records too. last one came out in 2006, it’s called “permanent fatal error” and really rocks. me favourite record that he produced is probably bruce dickinson’s “skunkworks”, great stuff.

he was deffo the right man to produce shameless, but his “style” of production and sound wouldn’t fit on most other t?-records as it would
make the songs sound too “dry” i think.

Re: shameless - underrated and ahead of it’s time? in General Therapy? Topics

yeah, i also like jack endino’s production very much. the man just has good taste and does not overproduce the records …

shameless - underrated and ahead of it’s time? in General Therapy? Topics

i must say that shameless is the t?-album i like the least but i still think
it has some great songs and some great moments. my favourites are probably “i am the money” and “stalk&slash”.

i listened to it yesterday and i think this album was ahead of it’s time. to me, it sounds very retro-rock, specially
the drum-work. so i’d call it a retro-rock-album, and then i thought, that whole retro-rock-scene got big a few months
after shameless was released. the strokes, the hives, white stripes, etc. all got big around 2001/2 …
maybe some of the songs on shameless, f.e. tango romeo, alrite, etc. would be considered a masterpiece if one of those bands
had written it … so maybe the lads were ahead of the time (once again) …

what do you think?

Re: I just bought… in Other Bands & Artists

NEUROSIS - Given to the rising
THE HIDDEN HAND - The ressurrection of Whiskey Foote

both of them are amazing!!!

i plan to order “music through a cheap transistor” online cause i didn’t find it in any shop in austria so far …

Re: Therapy? Q&A August 2007 in General Therapy? Topics

- will you please keep releasing albums and touring for the rest of my life (at least)? i’m 26 … ;-)

- where do you still find inspiration after all these years?

- was there ever a decision made, that you now consider a mistake (career-wise)?

- why don’t you release your albums in the USA on some indie-label or something like that? i can’t believe that no label would release it and i also think some bands (maybe clutch etc.) would take you out on tour there if you’d ask …

- could someone of you guys please write the “story to the song” for each album please?

cheers,
martin (vagabond)
:)

Re: “sympathy for strawberry” on youtube … in Other Bands & Artists

thanx y’all! :D
really glad you like it!

@ dennis: yeah, the solo-track is my ego-trip … haha! my band is very very democratic, even when it comes to the songwriting, so sometimes it’s kinda nice to work out everything alone without making compromises …

@ up_in_flames: that’s cool tom! glad you’re coming to our show! :D

“sympathy for strawberry” on youtube … in Other Bands & Artists

Title: “sympathy for strawberry” on youtube …

uploaded a video of my band on youtube …
enjoy!

here’s the SYMPATHY FOR STRAWBERRY - DIY-video for our song “self deception”:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQcrNbuR3fE
(the aspect ration is incorrect, it’s 16:9 originally but bloody youtube converted it to 4:3 …)

btw, there are scenes in it where i’m proudly wearing a “therapy?”-shirt … :D

and here’s a video of my solo-project VAGABOND:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V6Zp2GA4hU

check ‘em out, leave comments, etc.!
:D

Re: Novarock 07 in Therapy? Live

i’m gonna be there too!!! hellyeah! :D

the bad thing is, that “isis” are playing at the other stage just when therapy are playing. there’s just 20 minutes difference. so my plan is to watch the first 15minutes of “isis” and then allow myself 5 minutes to get to the other stage in time to support therapy?. i will run like hell. ;)

Re: Seems that therapy? are playin in austria again in Therapy? Live

yeah, heard that too.
i’d love to see NIN and TOOL at the frequency festival. but the frequency sucks. nova rock also sucks in a way, but at least they have THERAPY? :D

Re: people who will be at the VIENNA and GRAZ shows? in Therapy? Live

you’re welcome guys!

thanx for the nice words about my band. :)
the gig was going pretty good. it was the first since our 2nd guitarist left the band, so i had a lot of new/other parts to play. but it went alright, some little mistakes but nothing too bad :p
we had the audience (about 180 people) jumping and banging on a few songs, kinda hard to get the audience going there, don’t know why.
but as i said, all in all it was a cool gig. just uploaded pictures on our website: http://www.sympathyforstrawberry.com/pics.html
(rock im kino 2)

so, there you’ll see that i banged my head as hard as i could, although it was a bit painful still … :D
