Re: Tilburg gig 04/11/09 in Therapy? Live

They played Sister? I fucking suck all the bad ways to hell for missing that gig. Awesome though that they’re playing some SPYF stuff.. I figure the songs play well in their current ‘Crooked’ sound.

Re: Therapy live in Utrecht ,may in Therapy? Live

The Oudegracht is the venue close to the station, and yes, there is a difference. The Oudegracht is the ‘classic’ hall, bigger and with quite the history (both the building itself and the Tivoli venue).

Re: Magic Mountain in General Therapy? Topics

A nice thought, but I suppose it ranks ‘unlikely’ on the probability scale.

Magic Mountain in General Therapy? Topics

Such an evocative song deserves it’s own topic. So, perhaps you can share your experiences with it here.. I’m sure many would feel it stands out in some way.

To start off, I’ve just had a pretty strange experience as it came on.. with lots of muddled spoken word; it was quite exquisite. Turns out, the new interview videos with Andy on Face Culture finished loading in the background and I just didn’t realise it because they were much softer than the music, and they were expertly synched. Quite silly, but it seemed a natural combination.

Please don’t be distracted by that mini-tale, what do you think about the song? I think it’s ethereal and a bit trippy - a welcome addition.

Re: New album “Crooked Timber” 23 March 2009 in General Therapy? Topics

I’ve only listened to Enjoy the Struggle and Crooked Timber as of yet, having found them on the site. After listening to Enjoy the Struggle I wasn’t quite sure what to make of it; I figured it was a ‘grower’ that makes more musical sense when fronted and backed by the other songs on the album. However, after seeing the new video a single time just now, I’m convinced this is an excellent album.

The titletrack is a mesmerising tour of brilliant mayhem. I love the rhythm, the dynamic song structure, the creepy little noises and, most notably, the lyrics. Excellent. I’m thinking that the short break of battery charging was well worth the effort. I’ll be sure to pick up the album and see what it does to me.
