Re: Dublin Show 10/03/2012 CONFIRMED in Therapy? Live

Sounds deadly, the venue is great and a nice mix of old and new tunes - am fucking green with envy :-)

Feedback from my mates that were there was that it was a super gig all in all.

Kept getting calls from mates who were at the gig last night, sounded awesome. Anybody able to piece together the setlist?

Re: New single ? in General Therapy? Topics

Get your dead hand off my shoulder - simply because it is my fav off the album overall. They should do an EP and add some of the unreleased stuff from the album sessions (here’s hoping…)

Re: Looking for Dublin and Cork tickets in Therapy? Live

I will be in Dublin that week for definite and loads of mates are going - should be a done deal :-)

Re: Setlist 2012 / Berlin 28.3.12 in Therapy? Live

I was at the Munich gig - supporting act pulled out last minute so Therapy? played an extended set (made me happy).

Venue was pretty small, but full - very stress free crowd, I was standing at the very front and don’t think I have ever been that close to the band (stage was pretty low).

The guys played great, although they looked a bit tired to be honest (at some stages I also got the impression that they were just going through the motions…).

For me it was deadly - all the new songs + alot of old stuff (Teethgrinder for example). Felt a bit sorry for the band because even though the reaction to the new stuff was good, it was when they started playing old stuff towards the end that the crowd finally started going mental (don’t think they were happy about that).

Only new song they left out was Marlow (didn’t really bother me to be honest).

I understand that the band is probably sick and tired of playing the old stuff (particularly Troublegum), but I think just playing the new stuff back to back will just get a luke warm reaction - they just need to mix it up a bit more (e.g. play a song from Brief Crack of light and follow up with something old).

Then again, the fan reactions may be different in other countries - heard from two mates that plenty of folk were pissed off at the Hamburg and Berlin gigs.

Got the purple T-Shirt and was chuffed :-)

All in all, I was delighted and wish the guys the best of luck with the rest of the tour - really hope I make Dublin.

Re: Setlist 2012 / Berlin 28.3.12 in Therapy? Live

Am going to be in Munich tomorrow - hope they stick to the above.

Like many others here, love Troublegum, but have seen those songs live loads of times now (the Troublegum + More show was amazing), so for me a bit of a shake up is more than welcome.

Not sure how it will go down here (still too many fair weather observers who would prefer Troublegum only), but I don’t give a fuck about them :-)

Bit of a shame that there is no pre-Troublegum stuff (i.e. Nurse) as I usually get a kick out of that.

So for tomorrow would love this set, but for the Dublin gig (if I hopefully make it), would prefer a fine balance of the old and new (for nostalgias sake :-)

Re: Sonisphere Cancelled!! in Chit-Chat

Agree, only if it was Queen doing a set consisting of their most rocking tunes - have a feeling they would be going a bit “ballady” with this guy.

Queen is one of my fav bands ever, but most metal fans would only really care about their prog stuff from the 70’s me thinks.

I think Brian and Roger should just call it a day as far as Queen goes - only tarnishing the legacy (Brian can keep doing solo stuff - liked his two albums).

Wonder what the set will be like.

Re: Vote Therapy? (today) in General Therapy? Topics

Voted, nice to recap some of my fav Irish tunes… Screamager wouldn’t be my fav Therapy? tune, but agree that it is probably the tune of theirs that deserves to be there the most (put them on the map at the time) - good luck guys.

Love THTTTSI also - weird, but wonderful…

Re: CT songs that will survive the set? in Therapy? Live

the first 3 probably, not sure if Clowns Galore will make the cut (great tune, but didn’t make the live album either)…

Choices choices - I guess they will just have to start playing longer sets ;-)

Shite, hope Neil get’s well soon. May actually be able to make the rescheduled gig as I am planning to be in Dublin that week.

Feel sorry for all you folks who have booked travel and hope that you still manage to make something of that weekend…

Loads of my mates will be there, so just give them some more Therapy? to compensate - they are only going for you guys anyways ;-)

Wish I could get cheap flights and pop over…

Re: Movies That Are So Bad They’re Good in Chit-Chat

Haha had the (mis)fortune of catching that one also. The scene where Jessica Biel gets out of the pool almost made it worth while…

Re: Will somebody interview Neil? in General Therapy? Topics

The standard “Neil” question so far is always “What made you join the band?” etc. It would be great to get some more insight into what he thinks of the music past, present and future. More about his technique, what he makes of his predecessors, how he went about learning the old tracks and on and on and on :-)

Re: Will somebody interview Neil? in General Therapy? Topics

My guess on the second bass drum is simply that it doesn’t really fit the music. I am pretty sure that he probably uses a twin pedal.

As for playing the songs different, am just curious. I am pretty sure he could play them exactly as the studio versions if he wanted to.

Re: A Brief CracK Of Light in General Therapy? Topics

Every single snare hit on St. Anger has that sound, and it is just too much.

Beyond that, they should have just kept the songs shorter, added guitar solos and left James only to come up with the lyrics on his own (could have been great).

Anyways, Therapy? have been using the second snare since Nurse and therefore in my opinion do not deserve comparisons to a shite album which came out much later.

Re: A Brief CracK Of Light in General Therapy? Topics

Comparing anything that Therapy? does to St. Anger - blasphemy! :-)

Agree that the sound is similar, but at least Neil also has a normal snare and alternates - unlike uncle Lars who just clattered it all album long.
