Re: Andy in a US Magazine?!?!? It’s True!! in General Therapy? Topics
That’s the one.
Still prefer the sound off of his betrusted black Gibson SG though.

Vader - XXV (all the old song re-recorded - deadly :-)

Re: Web Gig video in General Therapy? Topics
Well,
I thought it was a good idea and was happy to get something from the lads at the time. Execution wise - yeah, could have been better.
Didn’t like Andy’s guitar sound on it and felt that they could have put a bit more enthusiasm in (difficult without a crowd I guess).
Was an experiment, so fair enough.
I think it would be a cracking idea if they chose a studio somewhere in Europe and invited us lot from this forum to it.
That would be a deadly jape…

Re: Web Gig video in General Therapy? Topics
There were some flat versions alright. But also some good ones. The version of Dancin’ with Manson was class.
Overall, the vids were better than the audio.

Re: Andy interviewed on The Jekyll and Hyde Show (106FM Jerusalem) in General Therapy? Topics
Well,
All songs were written at the time of the interview and gave some insight into the direction. Can’t remember it all of the top of my head, so will listen again.
Also interesting to hear during the interview that a full on 1 1/2 year world tour is planned.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
You obviously don’t drink during gigs?
If so, you must have a bladder of steel!
I have been trying to convince someone to go and see them with me in August, but no interest. With a set list like the one above, I wouldn’t mind (+ Tenacioius D as support :-)

Re: Web Gig video in General Therapy? Topics
I would say that it took up too much space to store online, had nothing to do with “getting canned”.
Think all of the signed booklets sold out.

Downloaded and listened - what a cool interview :)
Shame they bypassed NANE and OCFA in the album discussion (would have been interesting to hear what Andy thinks of them today), but loads of juice on the new album instead.
Thanks

well, or whatever kind of food stand they got. I remember using “The Memory Remains” for a long awaited piss break and beer run.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
Don’t have a log in (let me guess - sets ye backa few $), time or interest - but thanks.
I have been seeing updates (postings on Blabbermouth), and even if not identical, the setlists have been at least similar - or are we too anal to admit that?
I like the setlists because the band is pretty much submitting to the fact that the last 3 albums were shite.
Like Iron Maiden’s period with Blaze Bailey, Load, Reload and St. Anger should be erased from memory…

Is there some trick or software that you require to listen to this?
I have tried a few times, blank window pops up :-(
My internet connection is pretty good, so can’t that. (Is this an Apple thing?)

Re: Rehearsal June 2008… in General Therapy? Topics
I wouldn’t read too much into the clip - nice of them to post something after the long absence.
Sounds very experimental, but more like a jam than an actual song.
It is too early to let out negative vibes folks.

One show? They have been playing the setlist above (or at least a similar one) for a couple of months now to my knowledge.

You spam other threads with your Metallicrap too, so I am now going to spam yours.
Let me be Unforgiven III for my sins :p

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
Who are you calling fanboy? You spam these boards with Metallica any chance you get and hunt down people who express their own opinions about Metallica.
Oh and btw, UA was better than anything Metallica put out in the last 20 years period (listen to the last minute and a half of burnt ice - as a ‘Tallica fanboy you would have never heard guitar playing like that before).
I am looking forward to see if Metallica can at least save face with this album.
“My lifestyle, determines my death style!” - you know what, more than anything I pity you.
Check out the latest Testement or Exodus albums if you want prime examples of a once inferior thrash bands bitch slapping Metallica.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
It is a personal song he wrote because he never got to say good bye to his mother. It got banned by MTV when released as a single of Youthansia because some psycho committed suicide in connection with this song - resulted in it being deemed a suicide song. Dave Mustaine re-recorded and re-released to make the song his again and let it be heard.
Are you trying to compare that to 20 years of shit music by Metallica? If so, shame on you.

I think it was “Return to Hangar”.

Re: Ministry in Other Bands & Artists
What was that microphone thingy that Al had? Couldn’t get a decent look. As for the fence, at least there was a gap in the middle. The guitarrists even came out the sides, so wasn’t quite as bad as I was expecting it to be.
Ah, I had a good time, but yeah, few more old tunes would have been sweet.
Motorhead gig next :-)

Bring on Death Magnetic and let them be judged.
The less I have to listen to ‘Tallica fanboys the better.

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists
I find song sequels generally crap, didn’t really like Megadeth’s sequel to Hangar 18 either so calm down.
The first Unforgiven song was great, the second one was pretty crap, so why make third?
I was kind of surprised to be honest.
I would leave the whole comparing Dream Theater to Metallica, those boys took a song idea and turned it into a concept album - is somewhat different.

I was off for over a week, only to come back to hear about “Unforgiven III” - you guys have got to be pulling my leg…

Re: Ministry in Other Bands & Artists
Yeah, was there Friday as well - good gig.
He has been playing this setlist all tour, so I had been listening to the G.B. Bashing albums in preparation.
Am glad that I finally got to see them live, but a mixed setlist would have been cooler.
Wonder if he will “really” retire the band or not.

Yeah, part of the “Maiden Heaven” Tribute right?
Look forward to checking that one out. Shame Metallica didn’t opt to cover one of the heavier Maiden songs.
