Re: T? on Guns ‘N’ Roses Linup at Download Ireland in Therapy? Live
Feckin’ Schweet!!!!! :D
Already bought a ticket just to see GNR and now with T? also being there… what a day it will be.
Apparently T? will finish up before GNR hit the stage. Not sure how they will have everything mapped out, but getting a good spot at the RDS is usually not an issue.

i guess i was wrong and yeah shameless is not over produced, semi detached is overproduced in the sense that there’s to many “stuff” goin’ on at the same time, sometimes you can’t focus just on the drums or the bass…i think high anxiety is way to polished and imho a very very weak album, i love t? and almost every one of they’r releases but high anxiety sounds like it could be from 300 other bands, and i mean…crappy bands, no distinctive sound at all, and a bunch of crappy tunes: voodoo dool, last blast, watch you go ..and on and and on…shameless is true rock ‘n roll, mature rock ‘n roll, and if anyone dislikes it..well i feel sorry cause it probably gives me reason when i say to my friends that 50% of all t? fans have really bad taste in music, sorry if i offended someone but shameless is a great album that reminds me of great bands like mc5, ramones, qotsa and others and man that’s GREAT music
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion man. There is no such thing as “good” or “bad” taste in music - that is a very subjective approach.
Anyways, besides the HA tracks that you reference, I think it is a better album than Shameless. I would never change Shameless and like all T? albums, but as a Metal fan it appeals to me the least out of all Therapy? releases.

What bastards!
Somebody email the reviewer, point out all of the mistakes and give him a big “you are the biggest douche on the planet” from all of us Wombles.
Jeez…

Re: Shameless - whats wrong with it?!? in General Therapy? Topics
Well, the way I would explain it is as follows:
Therapy? for me has always combined elements of Indie Rock, Heavy Metal and Punk.
This combination has resulted in the diverse musical taste of individuals on this board (myself being more a metal head to be honest).
If you ask me, Shameless was the most punk without integrating any of the other Therapy? styles. If you like all of that kind of stuff, fair enough - probably your album.
When this album came out I thought it was amazing (nice to hear a T? album with good production after SPYF), but out of all T? albums it got boring way to quickly.
I like this album, but lyrically and musically it would finish last for me in the fine discography that Therapy? has produced to date.
I don’t dislike any Therapy? album, just saying that this is my least fav ;)

Very strange poll guys - went for Tramline, just because I think it was the weird one on SA. One thing I have to say though is that none of these tracks are really one of my favs - wouldn’t say I hate them either, but, ah whatever, nevermind *takes a scoop of beer*

Re: OCFA wouldn’t copy to my mp3 player but then it did so don’t worry about it. in General Therapy? Topics
Dunno,
What type of player do you have?
I use a creative zen and usually rip CDs from Windows Media Player otherwise - no probs at all to be honest, and trust me, have had my annoying experiences with copy protected CDs
As for the whole “MP3s don’t have the same quality” debate - guys, in a way this is true, but only at a volume that exceeds what you would pump through your personal stereo or headphones. Jeez, get over it…

Dunno,
Don’t see singles being that important - video and some promotion might help.

Re: T? sales figures? in General Therapy? Topics
Yup,
As far as I remember they lost tons of fans when SPYF was released.
One of my mates (who is just as mad about T? as I am) almost gave up on the band entirely when it came out.
Wasn’t until we saw the tunes live that we warmed up to it.
Great album, just not when on which commercial success can be claimed - don’t think it did well sales wise.
It has been a slow gradual climb upwards since HA onwards. The would need the promotional backing that A&M provided in order to get back into the public eye (haven’t seen a single poster or flyer or ad for that matter since the album has come out).
And there is no Music Video as of yet - despite that they are unlikey to make MTV, this is still a bad idea in my books as rock fans watch music channels like Scuzz, Kerrang etc. anyways over MTV.

Re: Any Irish Dates Planned? in Therapy? Live
Yeah, I second to that ;)
Dunno, in the past the Dublin gigs have always been more towards the end of touring, am sure it will be the same this time around.
Just hope they play the Ambassador again - best venue for a band like Therapy? if you ask me.
Am guessing it won’t be until Autumn / Winter until we get to see them :(

Re: Therapy? Solo’s? in General Therapy? Topics
At the moment, I have the one from “Save the Sermon” in my head - starts off all messy and indie like and then Andy just blows into that full chord attack that sounds like a bloody rocket going off - excellent stuff :)

nothing better since I was a huge metallica fan but I’m slowly losing faith they will ever release another good album.
St. Anger was the biggest load of shite I had heard in my entire life. Listen to Megadeth if you want to get nostalgic about that type of Metal. Not even sure if Rick Rubin will be able to save Metallica at this point.
Anyways, who gives a shite, this is a Therapy? thread.

Yeah, either that (good typical T? track) or DSA to try and attract a new audience.

Well the version they play on the radio has apparently all of the swear words replaced with others. Many on this board thought he was singing “Kiss my Taxi”.

Voted “one of their best”. Kind of early to tell how I feel further down the line though.
Nowhere near disappointed or finding the album bad in any way though.

Re: Best of the spitfire three ? in General Therapy? Topics
Well, I love the individual tracks on HA for what they are (with maybe one or two exceptions). It is just that as an album of collected songs that OCFA works better. On HA it sounds like they were thrown together randomly.
Was very happy also when HA came out as I remember and to think that they have grown and topped that album since just goes to show what a great band Therapy? are :)
