Hey there,

The This Is Menace site has been updated and has a demo clip of the song “Dead Man” on it.

Well, it’s certainly an excellent title, hehe.

…subvert essentially means to ruin or destroy, that doesn’t make much sense!

Well, I meant it in the context of reversing the original meaning, perhaps “invert” would’ve been more appropriate.

I’m not sure that I recall her covering “Hurt” anyway

She’s done it live plenty of times.

Anyway, agree to disagree, eh?

Oh wait, sorry- :D

I’m probably a bit more open-minded about music than you are. =)

Don’t think you can smiley your way out of that one, sunshine, them’s fightin’ words. I’m as open-minded as they come- you don’t have to be close-minded to realise that some piss-weak warbling bint with a piano isn’t going to do T? justice. Tori Amos doing “Hurt”? Now that’s a cover- subverts the original, puts a new spin on things, makes it a worthwhile enterprise. My grandmother plays piano and sings- doesn’t mean if she sang some T? it’d automatically be “sweet”. Get some standards.
