Just wanna say I was gutted to read the news on this site.MC4 were brilliant live & on record & I’d highly recommend the first & last albums to any MC4 virgins out there.

Re: Okay, who likes oasis? in Other Bands & Artists
Title: oasis
Back in ‘94 I saw Oasis on the D Maybe tour & they were pretty crap live.Following night saw T? in same venue(S’hampton Guild) & quite simply T? blew them offstage! On the subject of Stone Roses, recently bought 1ST album which has stood the test of time.Never caught them live but recently saw Complete Stone Roses(tribute)who were pretty good.To end,Champagne Supernova is awful while Wonderwall is complete bollocks-shite song, even worse video.

Title: indie
Cant believe anyone hasnt mentioned Senseless Things,MC4,Catherine Wheel,Joyrider,Adorable & The Candyskins-all great live & on record. As for Marion,it all seemed to go wrong once Johnny Marr joined them which is strange considering he was a Smith!Great live tho’.

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics
Title: SLF
I’ve stopped buying SLF releases but like T? they remain brilliant live.Saw them for the seventh time in March when they finally came to Bournemouth & they were truly amazing.I will never tire of Jake’s between song mumblings & banter!

Re: OCFA - Best Album in General Therapy? Topics
Title: OCFA
Just wanna say I love this album & the fact that its a lot different than the previous one shows they’re not repeating themselves. The track Dopamine… is the best song they’ve written for years!I also loved High Anxiety as I thought this was a real return to form.Dont think T? have made a bad album, maybe a couple of patchy ones but I suppose its all down to personal opinion I suppose. As far as production goes I’m no expert so as long as it sounds good in the car that’ll do for me.Just wish they’d tour it further South than London.

I recently took said album in to work for my mate Ben to listen to & he dissed it outright.Says he loves rock;he’s into Trivium & Bullet - I mean, say no more!

Go & see ‘em live;one of those bands who really cut it live although not necessarily on record.Brilliant both times at B’mth Old Fire Station.

Havent played any of their stuff for years as its all on vinyl Juju & Hyaena are great albums though & a good start point.Dont really want to get into a rant about fob;the boy in the title I think just about says it all!

die so fluid in Other Bands & Artists
Title: die so fluid
Just wanna say I saw Die So Fluid at Unit22 in Southampton for the ninth time last night. As usual they didnt disappoint.Singer Grog was as approachable as ever as we chatted at the bar & she’s looking as stunning as ever.Their sound is bigger than before as previewed on some of the newer material. If you like your Rock tinged with Goth then they’re worth checking out.As for the venue, this was also great.Gothic heaven!Took me right back.

Re: World Cup thread in Chit-Chat
Just wanna say I’m half Italian,so when Erikson cocks it up again with the subs & brings on some 9year old who’s never played a premiership game before & we get knocked out I’ll just switch my allegiance!Italy always have the best kit too. Then of course Italy go all negative on us & try getting to the final with 1.0 wins & end up going home in the semis. Then what have I got to look forward to,another season of negative crap watching Bournemouth, under the tactical management of Sean O’dismal(sorry O’driscall).Any other B’mth fans out there feel the same?Think I’ll stick with my first love, music.Cooper Temple Clause wed at B’mth Opera House,it’ll be 90mins of pure heaven, unlike watching England/Bmth.

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics
Just wanna say I’m no drummer & similarly no expert but live Neil just shades it from Fyfe for me.I never really liked Graham’s live drumming but at the time I loved SP,YF.If you wanna see amazing percussion,go & see Martin Grech live, the guy in his band is on another plateau!

Re: How old are Therapy? fans???? in General Therapy? Topics
Been a fan since ‘93,first saw them live on Troublgum tour.I’m 39 now & more into them than ever & the £14 I spent on OCFA was well spent.Theyre still the best live band I’VE ever seen & I’ve been going to gigs on a weekly basis since I was 22.Just wish theyd come & play in Bournemouth (think I’ve mentioned that before somewhere)!

Thats just a matter of opinion,I dont own any ‘we’re big fish’but I once saw them supporting Sum41 & they were complete pony!Talking of all things ska,can I recommend the Jesse James album Mission-now that kicks arse.

Re: ‘a’ in Other Bands & Artists
Talking of Symposium I saw Hell Is For Heroes last month & they still rock, but show-stealers that night were a band from Cornwall called Easykill who were amazing.Cant wait to see them again soon.Highly recommended!

Title: RFTC
Back in ‘97 me & my flatmate were watching them on TOTP when my mate burst into song with ‘soap on a rope’etc!Great memories;I saw them at Pompey Wedge where they blew all the lights out after just four songs with the volume alone, then carried on as if nothing had happened!

Re: Keiko debut EP preorder in Other Bands & Artists
Just wanna say I saw you guys supporting HIFH@B’mth Opera House a few weeks back.I was the one in the A t-shirt you guys spoke to on the stairs.I actually reviewed your set for a local site;http://www.bhone.co.uk if your interested.I try to make honest opinions so dont slate me if you disagree with my view.Anyway, good luck.

Just wanted to say I was at the Pyramids that night too.I noticed it took 6 of those security muppets to take your mate out.I had a similar experience there ironically when I saw T? there last;I was wrongly accused of using substances & had the fullest of searches.Nothing was found & a begrudging apology. As for LTJ,theyre always amazing live & pretty good on record too, apart from Greased which is pony!

Re: Plan A in Other Bands & Artists
I’ve seen these guys at most of their Bournemouth gigs & theyre amazing live.As for their material I can highly recommend Just Leaving Acton,a 5-track cd.Classic Punk with hints of early W’HEARTS.Oh yeah, & I bumped into the bass player at a recent SULTANS of PING gig,top bloke!

Title: sunshine
Talking of crap bands i saw Alkaline Trio who were so lame&to really take the piss they said this would be the best encore we’d ever see;yeah right! Two songs later&thankfully they’d fucked off!But back to bands that suck, the support band that nite were called Sunshine;imagine The Bravery only a hundred times worse, crap name&crap live! This gig was at Southampton Guild;was i the only person to think this?A Trio are great on record, just not live.

Re: JJ72 in Other Bands & Artists
Title: JJ72
Theyre best song is October Swimmer but their new material is great&even harder if the two shows I went to last year are anything to go by.And yes the new bassist is hot! But,if your not getting decent airtime then you wont get heard!Theyre better live than Alkaline Trio anyway.

Re: ‘a’ in Other Bands & Artists
Title: A
I’ve been into A since Bad Idea&they were blowing the once mighty Symposium off stage.Having seen them 8 times i can honestly say they’re one of the best live acts I’ve ever seen.As for the albums I think Buildings just shades Teen Dance as the best LP.Best live appearance had to be at Reading 2002 on the mainstage, awesome! Also, they always had time for their fans, especially Jason. My ideal gig line-up would be Agent Blue,A,&Therapy? headlining,(I can dream).

Re: The indie thread in Other Bands & Artists
Title: Agent Blue
Just want to say i’ve just bought the !st album by Stoke-on -Trents finest Agent Blue;its called A Stolen Honda Vision&is the best debut CD i’ve bought in a long while. If you like a cross between King Adora,The Music,Ramones&The Ruts then this CD is for you!Its kind-of baggy-indie rock with elements of punk&theyre great live.Just wish they’d come down South!Oh well,at least 9Black Alps are coming up soon.

Wouldnt it be great if the guys did a singes only tour with ex band members coming onstage for certain songs, then an encore of the bands fave other songs! We live in hope!

Re: Wildhearts in Other Bands & Artists
Title: wildhearts
I found most of the above interesting&amusing in equal measure. The one thing that sticks out though is they tour too frequently for my liking.I saw them at Southampton Uni with Therapy and although they were good they werent great. And ,they only played for about an hour including the encore&hardly played any new material ;unlike at the Pyramids a few years back when after enduring the truly appalling Real TV,they came on for 50mins then did a 40min encore.Having said all that they cant ever be accused of being unoriginal or taking ages between albums.I do wish they’d come&play in the Bournemouth area sometime, and Therapy for that matter!Maybe Therapy as headliners this time!

Any danger of you guys playing in Bournemouth;cant ever remember you coming this far south. If so,can I suggest The Villa or Mr Kyps!Looking forward to the next album, hope its as good as the last two!!
