I wish they’d offer Morrissey 5 Million to piss off. That would make my day.

Rick rubin better not make James sing songs about Pizza Pie or do any Nine Inch Nails covers accoustically or im going to get pissed off.
He’s the producer, not the writer.

You’re right he’s not allowed to play solos anymore, at least on St. Anger.
If you’d seen the SKOM documentary, you would have seen that Kirk was the one who was campaiging for no solos.

Re: Foo Fighters - Hyde Park in Other Bands & Artists
I can see where you’re coming from with the Probot connection and I suppose you’re right actually.
1st on the bill is a bit shit for a band like MH, especially behind QOTSA, who aren’t actually that good.

Re: Foo Fighters - Hyde Park in Other Bands & Artists
Supported by Motorhead?
Supported?
Fucks sakes. What’s this world coming to, when Motorhead support the Foo Fighters? Sure enough, they’re both good bands, and maybe the fact that I see them both as headliners is the reason for my surprise. Well, that and the fact that Motorhead own the Foo Fighters…
I’m sure it’ll still be a good gig though. :D

Re: Test Icicles in Other Bands & Artists
My theory is that they thought they’d get exposure with their shit name. And surprise, surprise…they did.
They’re nothing new to be honest. In fact that reminds of the Artic Monkeys, nothing new, but everyone seems to be making a fuss.

Re: Punk/Metal gigs in Ireland in Other Bands & Artists
I’m heading to see A7X in Glasgow in March, and Against Me! up here in Aberdeen, in March also.
Finally! A decent band coing to Aberdeen, unlike that shambles of a band, aptly named Babyshambles.

Re: Music DVD’s in Other Bands & Artists
The other day I bought:
“R30” - Rush
“Bullet in a Bible” - Green Day
Both really good shows, and Peart’s solo is fucking ace to watch.

Re: Metallica! in Other Bands & Artists
That’s the thing with drumming though. You CAN make up stuff differently to how you first recorded it.
You CAN change stuff throughout songs.
It doesn’t make you a crap drummer.

Re: Metallica! in Other Bands & Artists
Yep, Rush are very cool.
Neil Peart is also an amazing drummer. He’s one of my top 5 definetly.

Re: Metallica! in Other Bands & Artists
As a drummer myself, I think Neil is the best drummer that Therapy? have had. He’s like a human dynamo, and I think his style is brilliant in terms of the music it’s being played to.
Back on topic though. I think Lars is a good drummer, I like his style of keeping cymbal hits out of time, and his ability to place fills in the right places.
Slayer drumming isn’t hard to be honest with you. It may sound immense, but all it really is is fast drumming, with toms thrown in here and there. Not rocket science. Don’t get me wrong, I dig Dave Lombardo, he’s a brilliant drummer too.
As for their diversification into Load, Reload and St Anger, I think they have made good records out of those, no matter what anyone else says. Firstly and most importantly, a band makes music for itself, they don’t need approval from anyone, apart from themselves.
I first heard snippets of St.Anger on the SKOM documentary, and I went out a bought it. What I heard was great, and I couldn’t understand why people felt it was so crap. Everyone goes on about the snare being too pingy, but to me, it sound perfect to the music it is being hit to.
/End of 2 pence.

Re: Wom Member’s Bands in Other Bands & Artists
I’m in a band.
http://www.closecall.vze.com
or the shitty Myspace page which the guitarist didn’t bother to complete before heading to halls wthout internet access here at:http://www.myspace.com/blackwidowrock
The song on the myspace page was our first ever cover, and recording was done in the other guitarists bedroom.
The song fucking sucks. But listen anyway. :D

I’ve been constantly listening to the “Blast Tyrant” album by Clutch recently. There’s so many great songs on that album.
