Come to the Dark Side H. we welcome you with our long vowel sounds, and dirty, backward, clog-wearing Lancastrian ways.

Carmelita is up on MySpace now. It’s better than Unsung, but not as good as Understanding Jane.
I’m loving this new covers album business

Nice to see some life breathed into this tired old thread.
I have had OJE candidates fuck up by not following that advice.

Re: Gracious me… in Chit-Chat
Don’t turn up pissed. I had a kid do that for an OJE once and sent him packing straight away.
Be keen and offer to help lots. Wipe tables whilst smiling.
Try to talk to people and be nice.
Good luck.

Wow, I love this song. I’d never heard it before, but it really could be a Wildhearts song - it’s absolutely perfect. I hope the rest of the album is as good and lets get a tour going eh?

That isn’t a gun, it’s a banana. Was your lunch a bit, well, crunchier than normal?
And more metallic?
And with more bullets in?

Re: When Good Bands Do Bad Things in Chit-Chat
WIldhearts. I loved everything and then Endless Nameless happened and I was very confused.
Ginger, Valor Del Corazon was awesome, then Yoni came out and smelled like somebody’s dog had died
Ash - 1977 then Nu-Clear sounds. What a crock of shit really

Re: Newbie :] in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
I’m purely interested in the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of all employees of Gracious Me international, and it’s subsidiary companies. Sensible, sturdy and supportive footwear are a must on a slippery dockside in Grimsby.
We can’t afford another embarassing lawsuit - remeber last time? With the tipp-ex latte? We couldn’t get Taunty Dan off the ceiling for days

Re: Wrestlemania in Chit-Chat
Whilst it might lask the artistic kudos of Shakespeare in the round, directed by Olivier and featuring a naked Oliver Reed, it is a lot more accessible to many sectors of society. It manages to show people a skilled and athletic performance without intimidating and putting them off by using the term theatre.
The storylines usually are laughable and insignificant, but welcome to pop culture guys. If you offered 4 beer swilling sunburnt Texans the chance to see a piece of physical theatre, choreographed smooth dance moves on the floor, performed by several semi-naked men telling a classic story of good vs evil they’d kill you. But what I described is essentially the basis of most Pro Wrestling.

Any good wrestling school ought to show you how it’s done now. and it’s probably only 10ft, but that’s still scary enough

Re: Wrestlemania in Chit-Chat
I quite enjoyeed Wrestlemania. I even booked the day off work today so I could stay up and watch it last night. Ain’t I a loser?
I think pro wrestling is a highly skilled and entertaining performing art. Performers guide the viewer through stories via the age-old medium of hitting folk with chairs. It is physically demanding and the ability to deliver moves which look dangerous in a safe and controlled fashion is a rare talent. The fact that these guys also use their bodies and their responses to these situations to convey simple emotive storytelling is a very special balance.
Whilst it is completely accurate to say that it is not real, that should not diminish the talent, commitment and skill these guys have. When it comes down to it, on a night like Wrestlemania, where you can’t bo 100% sure who will win, it’s pretty electrifying, edge-of-your-seat stuff, even though it is all pre-determined.
I really enjoy watching a bot of wrestling, much in the same way as I enjoy going to the theatre or watching a good film.

Cowboys From Hell by Pantera’s another.
Cemetary Gates off the same album is better. It’s about 2 minutes long if you count until the main riff kicks in. Mild and pleasant strumming with Anselmo over the top of it in places which escalates into a huge power crescendo and a colossal riff that’s heavier than osmium.
Cemetary gates fucking rules man.

Re: mp3 player advice in Chit-Chat
Don’t bother with a Sony. The media player it runs from is slower than a retard in an egg and spoon race and seems to be utterly uncompatible with, well pretty much everything really.
