Yes! I hate that line! I think its one of the worst lyrics ever!

Re: Rank the Manics albums from best to worst in Other Bands & Artists

i think trying really hard to recreate something they did once before by intuition is a big mistake. the other thing about the Bible is that Richey did 80% of the depressing lyrics which fir that musical style well - Wire’s lyrics are thoughtful at best (This Is Yesterday, La Tristesse) and cheesy as hell at worst (The Convalescent) so they are treading a very fine line here!

I wanted to be at that gig : (

did they do umbrella? james’ shouty voice gives a plain song a nice edge!

Re: Pitchshifter in Other Bands & Artists

Just remembered the song was called ‘Down’ that I heard.

Everythings Fucked is a good tune tho!

Re: Favourite Artwork/ Album Cover/ Packaging in Other Bands & Artists

The new Kings X is very pretty! Shame the music is very average dad rock!

Re: Pitchshifter in Other Bands & Artists

I had one of their tunes on my mp3 player and thought it was fantastic. I played it for my g/f and she said it sounded like Linkin Park. And it did! I lost interest in them after that!

http://www.pitchshifter.com is supposed to be a ‘classic’ album. Is it any good? The metal press loved it when it came out

Re: Why do Therapy? ignore their pop side these days? in General Therapy? Topics

I think they often miss the mark with the poppy tunes… good as they are at writing them. I think Stories and Jude The Obscene are really boring, average pop tunes. We want heaviness!

Re: George Carlin RIP in Chit-Chat

Fuck. He was brilliant! I discovered him through Bill and Ted unfortunately but he was very funny.

sex pistols are a talentless band. yes they helped introduce the punk genre but thats it,

Thats the funniest thing ever!

Re: VAST in Other Bands & Artists

I love this band! Ive been a fan since I heard Temptation on a rock sound compilation. They were going to be the next big thing weren’t they? Lars Ulrich was a massive fan of their first record. What happened??

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists

Their musicianship is pretty rubbish these days but i thin k the new album should sort that out. Im gonna buy it, not mad on the title yet but im sure it will make sense once the album has had a few spins

Re: Johnny Rotten on Coldplay… in Other Bands & Artists

Rotten is spot on! Nicky Wire said something along those same lines about Snow Patrol. What is it with dull plodding music? Guitars should be loud and kick ass!

Re: Metallica in Other Bands & Artists

hetfield is quoted as saying he hates ‘holier than thou’ because it sounds like their ‘old’ way of writing ie - it is vaguely thrashy. I agree with the above, ok they don’t want any thrash in their sound but fucking ‘heard-it-a-million-times-before-blues-riffing’? Yawn.

Re: This messageboard has a lot to answer for… in Chit-Chat

my g/f isnt a T? fan but i’m working on it…! I got her into NANE and she’s seen em live once so we’ll turn her into a Wom yet!

Re: This new T? album… in General Therapy? Topics

Funnily enough Muskeg i know a guy who believes that to be true! He used to go to their gigs in the Babyteeth days and said he didn’t like them when they gave up the rave influences to become a ‘normal’ rock band!

Each to his own!

Re: What’s everyone NOT watching? in Chit-Chat

Second series of heroes - lost interest now.

Eastenders which is the one programme i avoid like the plague these days - dreary crap. I don’t ‘get’ soaps in general tho - everyday life is dull and boring, why would you want to watch some fat stinking dosey fucking losers with their dull, boring lives on screen to unwind in the evening??!

you dont like em then??

Re: ‘a’ in Other Bands & Artists

they’ll be on their own label i should think (or definately signed to an indie) so the reformation will last as long as the old fans support them.

slagging ‘a’ but liking coal chamber?? its a funny old world!

Re: Lemmy-the movie in Other Bands & Artists

i thought from Bastards onwards their albums have been consistently good (with the odd lull - snakebite love). Lemmy is a legend and i think its a shame they arent bigger

Re: Wannabe Friends on Myspace/Facebook in Chit-Chat

is it just me or are people fickle with this stuff? myspace was good but people got bored and went to facebook for no other reason than its newer and then did the same over to bebo! i’ll stick with myspace thanks and check loads of great bands i wouldn’t have otherwise heard of!

Have you seen the SKOM outtakes where they are doing the rap song with Ja Rule?? These middle aged men nodding along pretending to ‘get’ whats going on lol! I can’t even entertain the thought of ol Bob Rock rapping with that image in my head!

Yeah agreed, RoboCop and Starship Troopers are great films, even without the satire and social critiscism put in which I have also found; most people don’t notice. “Starship Troopers is so cheesy” etc because they just don’t “get it” :P

Have you read Starship Troopers the book? Completely different to the movie but a great story in it’s own right.

STARSHIP TROOPERS 3 COMES OUT THIS SUMMER! REJOICE! GO TO IMDB AND WATCH THE TRAILER! JOHNNY RICO LOOKS OLD HAHA!

remember they came out when terrible bands like coal chamber were doing the rounds and in the midst of all this nu-metal angst they were poppy and happy…well, it worked at the time! i liked em for a year or 2 and Bad Idea is still a great great tune!

ps they have just got back together haha!
