Re: Motorhead out tomorrow in General Therapy? Topics

I thought i was the only person who loved Bastards, seems you guys and Lemmy think its the best too which is good!
I met Mikkey Dee and asked him why they didn’t play more off Bastards but he didn’t really have an answer and I was too drunk to remember anyway!

really hope the set changes…if they open with Dr Rock when I see them in Nov i’m leaving! Now what about ‘On Your Feet or On Your Knees’ as an opener. That would be mental!

I saw Blur around 2000 or so when they did their Singles tour in which they played every single they’d ever released in chronological order. was funny how fast they rushed through The Great Escape tunes (think they were a bit embarrassed by them). They had to finish up with No Distance Left To Run as well which was a bit of a downer.

They were only embarassed by Great Escape tunes?? Jesus, what about the others???

Re: Petition !! in General Therapy? Topics

Look at their website - it has all their gig dates and setlists and it looks pretty varied compared say, as someone said above, Motorhead.

Re: Petition !! in General Therapy? Topics

I dion’t think Troublegum needs a re-release but if it came out as a double with demos and b-sides and outtakes etc i’m sure i’d buy it anyway if it was at a good price!

NANE “could do with a facelift” ?! What are you talking about?!

I find the guitars a bit too “cheap” sounding - i guess that was the effect they were after and i love the songs, just the sound gets annoying. it suits songs like Panic, Dead and DLAM but Long Distance and So Called Life and a few others really could have done with a bit more refinement.

Re: Petition !! in General Therapy? Topics

Sonically at least half of T?’s back catalogue i think could do with a facelift - Nurse, NANE, and the 2 mini albums - well lets just say i can get a better result out of my pc at home with cubase and an argos guitar that was given to me! and i know almost fuck all about computers!

Troublegum is fine as it stands. I think a band should only re-release an album if the original vision didn’t come out in the end result really cos the band and fans deserve to hear it as it was intended to sound.

Re: Favourite Album song opener and closer in General Therapy? Topics

i love never ending, when I was learning to sing and play guitar that was a great place to start! I’d love to hear it live!

Re: Andy Signature guitar!! in General Therapy? Topics

i always find it weird that consumers would want a guitar with someone else’s name on it…as a muso myself i’d rather strive for finding a guitar that works for me as opposed to copying.

I’m thinking of getting an epiphone dot hollow body - anyone got any feedback on what they’re like?

Re: Favourite Album song opener and closer in General Therapy? Topics

outro is pants…just like walk through darkness.

opener - Hey Satan,,,,
closer - er…Rust

ok bias towards High Anxiety but it is a great album!

Anyone know which Chilli Pepper album this guy produced?

the first one. i daren’t listen to the first 3 chili’s albums though - the bits i’ve heard of them (the songwriting, not the production) has been horrendous!

Re: New album producer confirmed in General Therapy? Topics

i am very excited (not in a sexual way).! sounds like the dudes are going to try and make something we can believe in again. i love ocfa and Nane (ok maybe not ocfa too much ; ) but they sound like they were rushed - i want dark pop songs with massive tasty production like the old days and this sounds a bit more like it! Yay!

Re: Why do Therapy? ignore their pop side these days? in General Therapy? Topics

I think they often miss the mark with the poppy tunes… good as they are at writing them. I think Stories and Jude The Obscene are really boring, average pop tunes. We want heaviness!

Re: This new T? album… in General Therapy? Topics

Funnily enough Muskeg i know a guy who believes that to be true! He used to go to their gigs in the Babyteeth days and said he didn’t like them when they gave up the rave influences to become a ‘normal’ rock band!

Each to his own!

Re: This new T? album… in General Therapy? Topics

i cant forget the disappointment after going on about OCFA for so long then finally hearing it. my girlfriend couldn’t understand why I was so excited and after 3 listens, nor did I!
If T? take a while getting the new one together thats fine by me! 12 songs like Stand In Line would be perfect - atmospheric, heavy, brooding and with great choruses!

Re: Name the new Therapy? Album! in General Therapy? Topics

I think its about time they did a self titled album - and made it the best one of their career. Which im sure they’ll do anyway.

Troublegum is pristine. The intro and lead up to the first verse in Screamager just sound awesome. Dunno how you get that kind of clarity !

Have you not noticed the “mistake” in Screamager? after chorus one on the stop/start riff you can hear a blast of feedback that has been turned down in the mix but is still very noticeable! Good excuse to crank it up loud and have a listen!

Re: NANE - Best T? album by a mile! in General Therapy? Topics

that guitar tone MUST sound cheap for a reason - i get better guitar sounds out of my zoom fx box played through a really cack bass practice amp!

i like the tone myself, but they could have layered them on a bit more i reckon to thicken it up. i havent concentrated on it but i take it they do one on the left and one right guitar?

Re: NANE - Best T? album by a mile! in General Therapy? Topics

I love the sound of it, very raw and lo-fi but massive sounding at the same time!

Re: Old Pictures in General Therapy? Topics

wow! he goes on to say they became “a terrible pop rock band”. i take it he’s referring to the IL phase?

Re: This is the year… in General Therapy? Topics

ouch! Personally i thought SP:YF was a very different sounding record but once you get into it the songs were actually good. To be fair to gentz tho, its not a great idea to ‘come back’ with an out of tune lo-fi album that alienates even most of the hardcore following! they should have made High Anxiety at that point i reckon, released ‘nobody here but us’ as a single and cashed in!

Its when they followed it up with shameless that even I stopped bothering with them for a couple of years!

Re: Weirdest place you’ve found something Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

This isn’t that weird but I recently decided to watch Sepultura’s ‘1st World Chaos’ that i found from long ago one last time before i binned it. And there was Mr Mckeegan having a beer with Morat from Kerrap! comic in one bit. not sure if id noticed that before.
