Re: Vent your spleen! in Chit-Chat

My uni is a fucking piss take, apparently I’m not a student there. Which means my landlord is coming round saying I have a massive fucking income tax bill, yet had a letter from the uni just days before!!
On the plus side, I’ve got a T? gig next month and am around the country this week :)

Re: Vent your spleen! in Chit-Chat

Dave Spikey played a comedy gig in Preston a few weeks ago.

“mixed reviews” is the generous way to put his stand up. I never seen him, so can’t comment on whether he’s any good or not :)

Re: Death Race 2012 in Chit-Chat

Not sure anybody will have had him, and not sure it’s appropriate to post in here, but;

RIP David Rathband

Re: 6 Nations 2012 in Chit-Chat

Dan Tuohy would be a good start, Lenny. Even without my Ulster bias, he’s a top player. The brief clips I’ve seen of the Ireland Wales game, O’Callaghan spent a bitt of time offside staring blankly at rucks

Re: 6 Nations 2012 in Chit-Chat

I haven’t seen enough of McFadden to comment on him. Although if he keeps Keith Earls ‘superstar’ out of the squad that’s good enough for me. On a serious note, Earls isn’t in the squad due to his daughter being in hospital - hope she and the family are ok.
Scrum half is a problem position for Ireland - and I don’t think Ireland have a solution at the moment. We’ll see how Murray goes, but I think Kidney will go back to Reddan / O’Leary. Marshall for Wolfhounds? Perhaps, but that’s too extreme for Kidney.
Munster are excellent at winning games they have no right to win.
I went to the Ulster QF last year in Milton Keynes v. Saints - great bunch of fans and a top day out, despite the result!

Re: 6 Nations 2012 in Chit-Chat

You’re right, Mr Hoppy, Cave is injured. Spence could also have played a part though.

Only seen a little bit of todays game - will catch it all on iPlayer tomorrow and give a detailed review. Heard Davis’ tackle was a shocker and that Ferris’ yellow was never a yellow!

Marshall will never get into the Ireland first XV / 22. Anyone who watched him play prior to Pienaar’s arrival knows that, although he has his little moments of genius, he’s also prone to making a few howlers and can be a little too keen. He’s matured massively under Pienaar though, and long may it continue from an Ulster perspective.

As for the Ferris / O’Brien issue - they both have their good / bad points. I think Ireland need a ‘proper’ 7 though to really compete internationally.

On a domestic POV (off topic, I know), Ulster have had some top results and were unlucky in Clermont. On the other hand, we’ve lost a couple of games we really should’ve won, considering the calibre of players we have. Leinster are absolutely unstopable. They’ll win the HEC this year.

Re: 6 Nations 2012 in Chit-Chat

Also, I’m extremely disaffected at the Ireland set up. Mainly due to the omission of Dan Tuohy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVCbUqmyvnE) and Darren Cave

Re: 6 Nations 2012 in Chit-Chat

England don’t know how to play heads up rugby. Aviva Premiership is not the prettiest of leagues.
Scotland can’t score tries.
Tim Visser won’t make a massive difference - they still won’t score many tries
No, Ireland can’t win the 6N. We’re over-rated. Wales or France for me.
Stevie Ferris has been fit pretty much since before Xmas and has been on great form for Ulster. I hope Ireland don’t flog him during the 6N
Italy are improving. After hearing about how England & Scotland played today, they may even beat one of those two teams.

As for the ‘moral victory’, it’s like saying “If my auntie had balls…” - it’s not the case. You can only play what is in front of you!!

Man points for not remembering. However, you would’ve gotten more man points if you’d have told her again while sober!

I’m angry at working 8 hour shifts, and not having the chance to eat or drink… grr!

Anyone play Operation Flashpoint: Red River?

Just got it for X-Box and enjoying it so far. A LOT more challenging than COD / MOH / Battlefield

Re: Bad Joke Thread in Chit-Chat

I just bet on three horses called Sunshine, Moonlight, and Good Times, and none of them won. I blame it on the bookie.

I just saw a Yank on the news holding a sign that said ‘America 1-0 Bin Laden’.

Looks like someone can’t count to 2752.

I was at my mate’s stag night yesterday, when him and his brother handed me a glass full of yellow, lukewarm liquid.
“Drink it” they said giggling. It was only when I smelt it that I realised the prank the bastards were trying to pull.

Fosters.
