Mental health sounds good and Forum for Action on Substance Abuse and Suicide Awareness (FASA) seem to be what I may edge towards.

Re: The Belfast Marathon… in Chit-Chat

Was thinking Alzheimers or a cancer, heart foundation or something like that.

The homeless one is worth considering too, keep the ideas coming, and Derm, if you bother reading this and not up for the full marathon, we could do half of it each with the relay legs?

Re: The Belfast Marathon… in Chit-Chat

Feel this should be a sticky… Hooch, sort it out ;)

Right, Derm, do it this year.

Re: Squall has a new job ! in Chit-Chat

I meant people who can legally work (16 and over) and under 18…

But there are some jobs which you have to be over 18, ie. security, driving, direct credit card sales, stuff like that. I don’t know why the last one is a must for over 18 though, never understood it.

Colin, do you not have to be 18 to do bar work?!

Legally, to serve drinks, yes.
But it’s considered age discrimination if they don’t consider under 18s.
Graeme is exactly right, it’s glass collecting. Not a nice job, but it pays and once you’ve worked in one bar you can walk into any basically.

Re: Unemployment in Chit-Chat

For weddings, you can hire a suit, certainly a lot cheaper than buying one. And if you go to a decent place you know you’re getting a good suit.

mrs h wrote:

Are you serious? It looks bloody complicated to me!!

It is indeed very complex. I studied it for AS Level and compared it with UK.. can’t remember the in’s and outs, but basically, the bigger the state (population probably?), the more delegates.. a bit like proportional representation I think.

For example, California is simply massive! If Obama won by, say, 67%, that’d be awesome for him.
However, if McCain won a smaller state such as Seattle by a margin of 97% (for example), Obama would still have more delegates I think due to the size and population of Cali.

I’m pretty sure that’s how it works.. will give you a better answer tomorrow when I’ve read up a bit on it!
