Re: Exclusive Therapy? webgig now available in General Therapy? Topics

Title: T? fans without paypal or credit cards

Paypal being the lousy anglo american system it is won’t allow me to use their services with my Belgian bank check account. Or maybe I’m a cunt and don’t klnow which buttons to push. I won’t be able to get a credit card soon cause I don’t have a steady income and a huge tat on my forehead that reads “never pays you back”
But how do I get this webgig thingy. I’m all too excited to be able to get as excited as the others about its supreme quality.

Re: Your Idea Therapy? collaboration in General Therapy? Topics

of lateley i’ve been digging into this mashup/breakcore scene. It would be coool to hear Sickboy or Bong-ra or Hypnoskull going fingerloose at some classic T? tunes. Definitely the early stuff from the ep’s and Nurse would go down easily in a ruff breakcore/mashupjungle stylee.

Otherwise the Melvins!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Nick Cave

Re: Drummers in Other Bands & Artists

if we’re gonna keep yacking about Fyfe, Graham and Neil then this thread should be moved to another part of this forum.

I was (forced to) listening to Virgin Suicides OST earlier this week and it struck me that the fast song(s) had pretty cool drumming, very frantic and driving. But I have no idea who that sticksman is.

I think an average drummer makes an average band worse but a good drummer makes an average band better and a good band can’t be fantastic without a fantastic drummer. Drummers are essential to rock music. A band without drummer is like pizza without cheese.

Asparagus are the bomb, apparently everything that leaves your body aferwards smells and tastes funny, funnier that is than normally.

What do I do at work, simply work. I rather enjoy my job. Too bad.

Re: Drummers in Other Bands & Artists

Brann Fucking Dailor, how come he wasn’t mentioned yet. This man seems to have four arms. Or is mastodon suddenly too hip for this forum? Let me know then.

Keith Moon the loon, the first stand out hardrock drummer ever a whacky genius behind the kit

Sami Kuoppamäki. Y’all do yourselves a favour and listen to Kingston Wall’s live album. Sami destroys, so much feeling so much power so fucking metronome tight!

Pete sandoval he invented the blastbeat and is probably the best death metal drummer

Hellhammer listen to de mysteriis dom sathanas even the drumming is eerie and threatening

Sooper Cooper of course, not just because I’m a T? fan, he is really very good and I would like to hear stuff from his former band(s) is this still out there?

Dirk verbueren Belgium’s own Dave Lombardo. Drums for pretty much every modern (death) metalband in europe I think

Brant Bjork. Maybe his drumming is not spectacular per se but he is such a great allround musician, I had to mention him. But mind you, he IS a good drummer.

Dale Crover
Mario Duplantier (Gojira)
Trym
Bill bruford
The Isor drummer
Mitch Mitchell

I don’t listen to bands with bad drummers only good or average ones

it’s a stupid sweepstake that could have you win like 100 cd’s who’d want that?

Re: voting time kiddos in General Therapy? Topics

maybe next time we should first poll the wombles and agree on 1 track and all vote for that. Bet hedging doesn’t really hold up for this list.

Here it is again vote for the lads. Studio Brussel’s annual Timeless Top 100 list. Don’t bother about the quiz questions or you might win my prizes, and we don’t want that do we?

Please do vote because the only T? track left in the list is Diane and it’s star has been seriously waning over the last few editions, and we don’t want that do we?

Re: What CD’s (or Music DVD’s) Are On Your Xmas List? in Other Bands & Artists

If somebody could ever give me a first pressing of “Electric Ladyland”
*drifts into the clouds*

As a whole I truly loathe and detest and shun the idea of presents for whatever silly occasion. It always feels a bit like they’re trying to make up with me for never being there when I get a present from someone. The biggest present anyone could give me is just picking up his/her cellphone and answer Yes if I call in for a beer or so. I don’t need any christmas hype to dictate me to feel good around my family and friends, I always feel good around them.

Anyway if you own an original copy of Electric Ladyland I can mary your sister allright?

Re: Bands That Change Frontmen in Other Bands & Artists

I’m thinking about Voivod here. I got into metal through Voivod’s Negatron album (without Snake). Probably that’s sacrilege to eighties metal fans, but I can’t help it. It does contain a couple of really good numbers. Now that I know, respect and love much of their older stuff as well, I can’t help it but like most of fairly equally it upto Phobos (second disc without Snake, and really cool spacey proggy thrash metal).

Recently Snake rejoined the band and honestly, their latest stuff doesn’t make me feel warm or cold. Pretty soulles I might even say.
The story ends sadly because over a year ago the guitarplayer died and we can’t replace Piggy can we?

Anyway interesting thread.
Other people like Voivod?

PS Napalm death have NO-ONE left of the original line-up…

Re: what was the last gig you went to? in Chit-Chat

I went to see a gig last night by an artsy bunch that has a friend of mine playing with them. They do some sort of concept-theater-song thing. It’s one big show with two leadsingers both impersonating a personage of an ancient greek myth (about Dionysos). Pretty good and engrossing actually. If you’re in Flanders and see the name Bacchant flyposted somewhere, go check it.

Re: Tool / Mastodon tour in Other Bands & Artists

Title: In Leuven (B)

both gigs were good but by no standards Mastodon outdid Tool (yes that’s a minor disappointment).

Mastodudes rocked out without chitchat, played about 45 mins. The set consisted of mostly Blood Mountain songs (I recognized Colony of Birchmen, Crystal skull, Capillarian crest, Sleeping Giant, Hand of stone, Circle of Cysquatch), five or six in total and three Leviathan tracks (Seabeast, Megalodon, Hearts alive). The soundengineer was still sleeping though wich resulted in a messy sound. Their playing was tight enough anyway. The clean vocals were surprisingly good, this means I expected them to suck really bad in a live setting.

Tool fucking rocked. The sound was awesome, the visals far out, and the lightshow ridiculously massive. Tool played a best of set, I think only two tracks of 10,000 days (The Pot and Vicarious) a lot of Aenima (including title track and Stinkfist) and Lateralus (title track, schism, grudge, parabola) Sober of course and some songs I didn’t recognize immediately.

As a whole it doesn’t live up to the ridiculous entrance fee (45€ all included) but it was a great night for Rock.
