Flaming Lips/Therapy? vocals??? in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Flaming Lips/Therapy? vocals???

Guys, i just got The Flaming Lips ‘soft Bullet’ album. Of course I own every Therapy? album done. anyway i was reading on this forum that basically 2 guys were laying into Andy’s vocals, saying he was ‘dry’. they said the Flaming lips singer is much better. After hearing ‘Soft Bullet’ I have to wonder if they were not clinically insane.

The vocals on the album are ATROCIOUS! The singer…

1. Totally out of tune 90% of the time
2. Strains (uses throat instead of diagram)
3. Sings at a high range, which obviously does not suite his natural range.
4. Wobbles around notes.

The sad thing is, that the guy is not going for some sort of ‘effect’ (ie modulation) - he is just trying his best and failing badly!

Andy, in contrast is 98% of the time in tune, does not strain, has a decent range which he uses to the utmost.

I feel proud that I’m a better singer than the Flaming Lips!

Im very unhappy…this one rates almost as low as Shameless…actually Shameless might actually be better…

I gave it a good amount of time…just doesn’t have that usual Therapy? crack!

Oh well, the next one will kill!
