Re: Little Britain USA in Chit-Chat
Yeah deadsetgav, ‘Jam’ is DEFINATELY worth watching in my opinion. Check out some clips on youtube first or something and see what ya think.
It does boil down to personal taste though. I know people that absolutely love it and some that think it’s the biggest pile of shit they’ve ever seen! One thing is for sure though, it makes for very uneasy viewing.

Re: Little Britain USA in Chit-Chat
Anything by Chris Morris is fantastic. Brass Eye is still funny as fuck.
Has anyone here seen ‘Jam’? Probably his most overlooked creation. It’s one of the darkest (yet one of the funniest) comedies I’ve ever seen.

Re: Best acting job ever ? in Chit-Chat
I know somebody has mentioned him already but Robert Shaw as Quint in Jaws! A great movie anyway but he absolutely stole the show. One of those rare characters that you just can’t take your eyes off.

Re: Wolf Law in Other Bands & Artists
I had exactly the same thought regarding the twin lead bit! Will definately do that when it comes to recording now.
Half the band love The Wildhearts so it’s no suprise that you can hear influence in the songs.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to listen and comment mate :)

Wolf Law in Other Bands & Artists
Title: Wolf Law
Hey. My band WOLF LAW has just put some live tracks up on our myspace page (from our first gig no less!). It’d be great to get some feedback from you guys about the songs as we’re due to record them in a couple of weeks.
Cheers. And please…be brutally honest!

Re: So whose the best songwriter? in Other Bands & Artists
Ginger and James Dean Bradfield are my two favourite songwriters of all time. But I went for Ginger in the end because he hasn’t written a bad song yet and he’s simply beyond prolific.
Andy is great at what he does but he’s nowhere near as consistent. There are at least two songs of filler on every album Therapy? in my opinion.

Re: Bands That Change Frontmen in Other Bands & Artists
It’s like with The Darkness. Can’t believe they’re gonna get that bassist to take over from Justin. He looks retarded. Eyes far too close together. Not nearly enough hair.

Re: Wildhearts 21st December wolverhampton in Other Bands & Artists
Jon is a lovely bloke.
He’s in a brilliant band called The Goddamn Whores (with Ginger on bass!) who have just released an album called ‘We Are The Lucky Thirteen’ and is also playing with Ginger & The Sonic Circus.

Forgive me if anyone here has seen first-hand the unfortunate consequences of drugs on another human but surely its time Ginge said ‘Danny - fuck off. You obviously can’t get clean and you’re ruining my business’.
I think it would be more like:
“Danny, I’m quite capable of ruining my business by myself thankyou very much…”

Re: The Feeling in Other Bands & Artists
Hahaha, nah I’m not.
I just know what I like and I really do not like those bands at all.
They’ve both got far too much ROLL and not nearly enough ROCK.
If you know what I mean!!? ;)

Re: Wildhearts 21st December wolverhampton in Other Bands & Artists
The Wildhearts are Ginger’s money-maker. I’m pretty sure he just uses the name to fund his other projects now. All he does is complain about the various band members and how depressed he is when he’s playing in the band, yet he always comes back singing their praises when he’s about to release a solo album or something. It’s not fair to the fans and it really fucks me off sometimes.
That said, Ginger always puts 100% into The Wildhearts gigs and the tour for ‘Wildhearts Must Be Destroyed’ was brilliant. Probably the tightest the band have ever sounded.
Annoyed at the constant line-up changes and changed minds. Danny was supposed to be in the current incarnation but now it’s Scott Sorry. What the fuck?? I know it seems petty but Ginger shouldn’t make announcments, that he knows will get the fans going, unless their definately gonna go through with it. I don’t know of any other band that does this. Though maybe that’s what makes ‘em so special…?

Worth buying the DVD cos it’s good.
Watched the DVD of the Scarborough gig last night. Oh, the memories that came flooding back to me:

THAT version of Geordie In Wonderland!
Fucking great night!!!

Re: James Dean Bradfield’s “The Great Western” in Other Bands & Artists
You may well be right.
My theory has always been that either when he was writing in the early days he was trying to outdo Richey (in a friendly way of course). By that I mean I think he’d read something that Richey had written and think “Fuck, I’ve gotta compete with that!?” Then come up with something amazing, like ‘This Is Yesterday’.
Either that or Richey simply ‘helped’ him a hell of a lot with his ideas, arrangments etc and added a few lines here and there.
Wire’s early lyrical style was very similar to Richey’s.

Archives of Pain live?
Oh yeah! :)
If the show proved one thing its that the man hasn’t lost it and hopefully he will convince Wire to write some really biting lyrics this time around and instead of experimenting they just rock out with some good tunes!
I’d like to hear James write some lyrics for the new album as well. Really liked his style on his solo album. No more cramming loads of obscure words in to fit a melody.
Yeah, Wire does need to be a bit more vital sounding this time around, less reflective.

Re: James Dean Bradfield’s “The Great Western” in Other Bands & Artists
I really wanted to go to at least one of the dates on this tour but I couldn’t fucking afford it. Gutted.
He played ‘Archives Of Pain’!!? Wow. Never heard that song live. Bet it was amazing!?
Looking forward to the new Manics album, apparently it’s gonna be a lot rockier (not a massive feat as the band farting into a microphone would be heavier than Lifeblood was!)
It’s gonna sound like a cross between Generation Terrorists and Everything Must Go apparently. I know every band says stuff like that regarding their upcoming album, but I wanna believe it so much!
JDB is an amazing songwriter.

Re: The Darkness Rock!… in Other Bands & Artists
They’ve already been dropped by Atlantic apparently. The day after Justin quit.
I really hope they don’t pursue the idea of the bassist taking over on lead vocals. I’ve heard he’s got a great voice but there’s just no way he’ll be able to do the songs of the first two albums justice. Unless he has his bollocks surgically removed or wears some sort of clamp on them for gigs.
Plus, and I don’t know if this is just me, but he looks fucking weird! A bit like the banjo-playing kid in Deliverence…
Not a good look for the singer of a rock band.
