Re: QOTSA - Era Vulgaris in Other Bands & Artists
sorry dude, but i don’t agree. Yes t? never release the same album twice, that’s a great thing but still they haven’t released since troublegum (except maybe SPYF) a perfect album, they seem to experiment a lot and never be good enough at any of those experiments, while qotsa is still perfecting they’r style while releasing different albuns all the time, you can’t compare per see lullabies to era vulgaris, they are very very different records, and t? sounds kinda amauterish when compared to qotsa, just compare pure t? rockers like rock you monkeys with full on qotsa like better living trough chemestry and see the difference for yourself. QOTSA is more inspiring and
techinically a much better band that t? …still i do love t?

Re: QOTSA Era Vulgaris in Other Bands & Artists
i like therapy, been a fan since 92/93, and i only like qotsa since 2000 but man…era vulgaris blows everything therapy? did since suicide pact, you may say that they completely different bands, and it’s true but man they’re both rock and roll, and qotsa is rockin’ the FUCK out
oh yeah and OCFA seems tamer and duller with each listen

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics
yeah..the guy is “messy” as hell, i think t? needs a decent drummer once and for all, someone like graham would suit fine. everytime i introduce t? to some of my friends they dig it but they always point the fact that the drummer sucks..unless of course i show ‘em SPYF ;)

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics
talking like that about “outro” is like praising a record because of the cover, i hate filler material of any kind

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics

Re: Tool in Other Bands & Artists
it’s 76 minutes of music that flow really well..when i hear it i don’t really think that the songs are that long, they don’t bore me unlike some genesis and yes songs that go on forever…let them do whatever it is they like man

yeah and pink floyd in their prime released albuns every year, it’s true. but i don’t think it makes any sense to compare t? to tool…

Hmmm, Cult of Luna released full albums in 2004 and again this year. Their albums are pretty complex too. IMO, there’s no real excuse for a band to take 5 years to put out a record.
i just said that tool dindn’t spent 5 years recording 10,000 days, and if they want to spent 10 years without releasing any records that’s they’r own business, there’s plenty of good music around

Tool take 5 years to make 7 songs
In that time, Therapy? have released 4 full length albums :D
2001 - shameless
2003 - High anxiety
2004 - Nane
2006 - One Cure Fits all .
Tool
2001 - Lateralus
2006 - 7 new songs
:D
man, do you really want to compare what it takes to make a tool record in comparison to a t? record? and as for the record..tool didn’t spend 5 years recording 10,000 days, a perfect circle released 2 records between lateralus and 10,000 days and the whole recording process took between 4/6 months.
and the reason why t? recorded 4 albuns in that period of time is because t? records are mostly straight foward rock music that could be recorded in probably 2/3 weeks and tool records are filled with complex stuff (like it or not) that takes a lot of time to complete…not to mention the artwork :P

Re: Stoner rock in Other Bands & Artists
hermano kicks ass and i don’t think no one mentioned yet the godfathers of stoner rock, MASTERS OF REALITY! i love qotsa and i think they are one of the best if not the best stoner band but masters deserves as many recognition if not more than qotsa, they rulle…great lyrics, AMAZING drumming (courtesy of ginger baker from cream on the album “sunrise on the sufferbus) and they’r amazing live
