Re: What Next gen console will you buy? in Chit-Chat

There are so many terrible games for the Wii, but the good ones really make it so worthwhile. Zelda, No More Heroes, Umbrella Chronicles, Lego Star Wars, Warioware etc. Nintendo are onto a good thing in trying to sell consoles and games to people who otherwise would not game at all, making it more social and changing the goalposts as well (WiiFit etc). But they’re also not neglecting the audience that’s already there. Lego Star Wars is a good example; I’ve heard of 6 years olds managing to get through all levels, but I’ve racked up probably about 30 hours of play and still only at 85% completion, because there’s so much more of these games than just getting through all levels. You can play at your own level which can only be a good thing.

I’ve heard too many people dismiss 360 games such as Katamari and Viva Pinata as a waste of 360 resources because they aren’t another pretty shoot em up. A lot of people just seem to reject anything unfamiliar or innovative, and at the end of the day how many times can you rehash the same scenario and same gameplay? I’ve heard quite a few times that developers are growing bored with producing shoot em ups, however that seems to be what sells.

And Dead Rising; Chop Til You Drop coming out on the Wii. Oh yes.

Re: Gracious me… in Chit-Chat

*starts to make raw toast* this may take some time. Take a seat, please.

So I take it d’s funeral and your birthday are somehow related..? Happy Birthday for tomorrow! I hope you have lots of lovely things planned.

I really shouldn’t read some of the old threads at work. I’m sat here trying not to giggle and mostly failing; so trying to cough to cover up the giggles. It really doesn’t work. I imagine it’s how a moose would sound. However I did find the Dennis Thread.

I really need some work to do. I’ve taken to teaching myself GIS mapping using a book that’s missing every other page. It’s quite… challenging.

Hello Colin, and Mrs H, and Dennis! How are you all?

Whatever happened to the Dennis Thread by the way?

What have I missed? Someone fill me in please.

We’re going to be taking a new, healthier, raw approach to GM nutritional I feel. We’re going to be having raw toast from now on.

Ok?

Re: General Happy Birthday Topic! in Chit-Chat

Many thanks for all the lovely birthday messages!

And Mrs H I had not forgotten about all you lovely people! I was otherwise engaged on my birthday horseriding through lava fields, then drinking Viking beer in a outdoor, geothermal, saltwater spa pool set in more lava fields in the middle of nowhere. But I would have preferred to be here celebrating. Honest.
