Re: Why was Andy left out???? in General Therapy? Topics
What Nottingham person didn’t grow up in Rock City? Either there or the Palais.
I wouldn’t actually know Six by Seven if they hadn’t supported Fugazi at the Marcus Garvey Ballroom about 7 years ago. Elusive band that they are.
I managed to completely forget the Blueprint, Twin Zero and earthtone9; all bollocking ace Nottingham bands, still see Karl Middleton in the Speakeasy from time to time when I’m back :)
Most of my Nottingham mates have grown up and on now, as have I, but it’s always still great to go back. They still play Video Killed The Radio Star on Thursday nights at city and still see a lot of the old faces there.

No. No I was not :)
Six by Seven are awesome as well, and so goes my knowledge of good Nottm bands.
Now you’ve got me reminiscing now, ah good times. Take it you’re from the fair city?

Re: Why was Andy left out???? in General Therapy? Topics
Wait.. other members of the band? Don’t be silly. (JS would kill you if he saw that)
I love psi, have done since 98, and proud that they are pretty much the only decent band from my hometown, but he is *the* biggest twat in the music industry, and I’m afraid I haven’t seen much better live (well in the past few years and the many “we’re broken up, but need more money so let’s tour for a bit” tours) or in person. I sat opposite to him in Wagamamas once and gave him evil, yet condescending, stares.
His brother’s a right sweetie though.

anyway, on the subject of the list, ggod to see JS from Pitchshifter in there, but as usual with any kind of poll, it only represents the opinion of the people who bothered voting.
JS can fit on a stage with his ego?

Re: Average Crowd Now in General Therapy? Topics
Most of the times I have seen them it’s been in Nottingham; Rock City has a capacity of 1900; for the really popular bands it’s usually overcrowded (about 2500), for T? it would have said it used to be about 1000 people.
But the last 3 gigs they’ve done have been all-nighters they’ve headlined (a fiver for a whole clubnight and about 5 bands), and the joint with the Wildhearts; and they’ve been packed.

Certaintly did when I used to read it which was about 8 years ago.

Re: We need more acoustic therapy! in General Therapy? Topics
As a matter of interest how many acoustic versions are there? From a quick Winamp search I have about 8; mainly from b-sides of singles (which are easy to come across on ebay and cheap) but I’m yet to have a good upload session.
But I don’t think they would ever release an acoustic cd; I can’t see it making much profit other than from T? must-have-every-release hoarders, it wouldn’t reach people who weren’t T? fans; it just doesn’t overlap that much with any folky-acoustic target audience.
Has there been any success for other bands making such releases? I can’t think of any :/

Re: Martin McCarrick Web… in General Therapy? Topics
Quote (author unknown):
from http://www.houseofmccarrick.com
Rico and Martin have been friends and musical collaborators since Rico opened for the Therapy? ‘Suicide Pact You First’ tour back in autumn 1999.
Does that make anyone else feel old?

No you’re not, you’re going to want to lay down in a bed of roses.
I think I’ve exhausted my (obviously extensive) knowledge of Bon Jovi songs now…

Re: T? sales figures? in General Therapy? Topics
Discussion point: Therapy? are one of the most hardworking band in the industry.
Children, discuss.
Has there ever really been that long between announcing an album, recording thw album, promoting the album, touring, and announcing another album?
It seems some bands just disappear off the face of the earth for a couple of years and suddenly leap back with another album.
I seem to spend a lot of time in some state of excitement with T?.

Re: Therapy? - A Love Interest in General Therapy? Topics
The ex Mr Hanne starting listening to them, but his music changes with his girlfriends (now he’s into McFly and Busted and all that tosh)
The first gig we went to was the Wildhearts and T?, he bounced his head and bought a My Voodoo Doll single. He was never really into them, but smiled and nodded with me.
I can’t think of one ex or potential who has really appreciated T? to even a small degree, which is a shame…
