Re: Tribute Band in General Therapy? Topics

Misanthropologist wrote:

Deluded Sons? ;)

The problem with naming a tribute band after a song by the band is that the name has to stike an instant connection with the band, and therefore the song has to be one where you go “wow, that’s a Therapy? song”, and that just doesn’t happen with Deluded Son, cos it’s a very little known Therapy? song.

Thus if you name a Therapy? tribute band after one of their songs, the band could only be called Screamager or Teethgrinder.

Re: Average Crowd Now in General Therapy? Topics

When they played the Astoria a couple of years ago, they didn’t sell it out and they had to close to the upstairs bit. The capacity of the Astoria is about 1700 I think, it wasn’t rammed, but their must have been about 1000 people there

On Thursday at Islington Academy it was pretty much full, and I’d say it’s got a capacity of about 800.

In London, I’d say just under 1000 is the biggest crowd they’ll get these days.

The last few songs on suicide pact have the greatest energy they have ever had. I can see them jumping up and down andpulling faces at one another in the studio just listening to it. In fact all of those sonbgs give me the biggest rush ever. So pick your fave three songs off there and those are mine.

I think God Kicks has the least energy in any song ever

Re: Manchester 27/05/06 in Therapy? Live

Ah that’s exactly the same as the London set list, expect in London they did Neck Freak instead of Innocent X.

I’m glad we got Neck Freak cos it’s my favourite Therapy? song, and in the 15 times I’ve seen them, this is the first time I’ve seen them play it…Innocent X does rule as well though.

Re: what do you think the best 3 T? song are? in General Therapy? Topics

1 Neck Freak
2 Stop It Your Killing Me
3 Misery

always loved Neck Freak since the moment I heard it - so angry and demented!!! Those are the top 3, but close runners up would be Innocent X, Auto Surgery, Disgracelands, Turn, Me Vs You and Straight Life

did you see the second stage? The Wildhearts were fucking awesome! Terrorvision were great too, but the less said about Headswim and Skin the better!

in terms of the main stage:

Aerosmith - not one of my favourite bands, but they were great live
Extreme - why the fuck were they there? utter shit
Sepultura - fucking brutal
Pantera - Phil rambling like a dickhead between every song, real let down
Therapy? - FUCKING HELL!! I knew they were gonna be good, but I don’t think anyone expected a performance like that!
Pride & Glory - thought they were pretty cool, bought their album soon after after and it never fails to get me in a good mood

Re: Islington Academy 25/05/06: who’s going??? in Therapy? Live

Did anyone else notice the floor was really slippy at the front? In the middle of one song song I fell right over and ended up lying on the floor in the middle of the pit, if the girl that picked me up posts here, then thanks for picking me up and stopping me getting trampled to death!

Haven’t been at such a kick ass gig since the last time I saw Therapy? in London 2 years ago - this band fucking rule!!!!

Re: What was the first and/or last song you heard by therapy?? in General Therapy? Topics

First - Screamager, when Radio 1 played it just before it came out, loved it so I went and bought the SSS ep on the day it was released!

Last - Potato Junkie at the gig last night!

Actually Fenriz, that set list you’ve posted is a bit wrong. Rock You Monkeys and Polar Bear came after Teethgrinder, and it was Pervesonality not Neak Freak as I already mentioned.

I might have got the order a bit wrong, but it was definitely Neck Freak they played, not Perversonality.

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics

Over 65% thinks best one yet/one of their best/very good, so it appears safe to assume the general response is a very positive one.

I was listening to NANE yesterday actually, and then I put on OCFA afterwards, and I gotta say I enjoyed OCFA a lot more.

Rain Hits Concrete, Fear Of God and Heartbeat Hits are all duff tracks imo, but the rest more than makes up for it.

It’s a great song - try to find it if you can

I should be able to find the Lonely Crying Only single quite easily, I’ve got the CD of LCD with Hign Noon and the new version of Diane on, I haven’t seen the other CD around for a while, but I’m gonna track down - must own every Therapy? song!!!!

Incidently on the subject of rare stuff, I just bought the Opal Mantra ep yesterday, paid £5 for it, but worth it for a non-album single, taking my total of Therapy? singles to 15, still a few to go, but closing in on the full collection!

Dermot wrote:

I’ve made my own Therapy? b-sides CD, and before OCFA came out I listened to it more than any regular album!

The tracklisting went a little something like this:

1- Skyward (re-recording)
2- Auto Surgery
3- Totally Random Man
4- Pantopon Rose
5- Teethgrinder (re-recording)
6- Suing God
7- Kid’s Stuff
8- Neck Freak (new recording)
9- Our Love Must Die
10- Sky High McKay(e)
11- Diane (re-recording)
12- Evil Elvis

Where’s Kids Stuff from???

I’ve got pretty much all the stuff, so I should make own b-side album soon. The acoustic version of Misery definitely should be included as well.

Re: Your lips like bruised vulva, your ass like Jesus feet, worth kissing in General Therapy? Topics

I like the “bruised vulva” bit, a nice sick and pervy lyric that reminds you A Moment Of Clarity is still a Therapy? song and not some bloated stadium ballad.

Uh no. It’s not exactly November Rain is it?

Cool song though, one that fits nicely into the flow of the album, not a stand out track on OCFA for me though.

Re: Worst t? album in General Therapy? Topics

Nurse? NURSE????!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Suicide Pact - You First is my least favourite, I know lots of people love it, but it never clicked with me and always just sounded like a mess.

Re: Heart Beat Hits, Play On or Crazy Cocaine Eyes in General Therapy? Topics

to be honest, all 3 songs have B-side written all over them.

I think they should have just stuck Heartbeat Hits on the RHC ep and made it a 5-track ep, and made OCFA a 12 track album without HBH. Even without HBH, OCFA would have still been 40mins+ long, which is enough for a Therapy? album - it didn’t need fleshing out with a duff filler track like Heartbeat Hits.

Quote (author unknown):

I think they should play Screamager, Nowhere and Die Laughing at the start of every set, and again at the end (for people who arrived late and missed the start). They should then play 3 encores - Screamager, Nowhere & Die Laughing.

Are you serious? If so that’s the stupidest idea ever - if someone misses the start it’s there own fucking fault! Why not just have a set that consists of Screamager played 20 times, just to make sure no one misses it!

I agree that Skinning Pit is pretty poor though, but stick Neck Freak, Animal Bones and Black Eye Purple Sky in the set and I’m happy.
