Re: Liverpool gig! 25/09/09 in Therapy? Live

Absolutely awesome. I’m just amazed by how much vitality and passion the guys still seem to have. It also help that, IMO, they’re touring one of their best albums in years.

Re: Verdict on Never Apologise Never Explain in General Therapy? Topics

Pure fucking class, the most consistently brilliant album since Semi-Detatched. Rise Up, DLAM and Perish tThe Thought are probably the strongest opening to any T? album, and Dead and Long Distance are two of the best tracks they’ve even penned. Only weak link for me is Polar Bear, but there you go, everyone else seems to like it so fair play. One of their top three for me.

Planes Mistaken For Stars in Other Bands & Artists

Title: Planes Mistaken For Stars

Any other fans on this board? And if not, why the hell not? Go, quickly and check out the ‘Up In Them Guts’ LP - dark, twisted, messed up rock ‘n’ roll of the highest intensity, or the superb ‘Spearheading The Sin Movement’ EP. Or, in fact, anything they’ve put out. Got to be another fan here surely?

Re: Biggest crowd Therapy? ever played for..?! in General Therapy? Topics

I thought Extreme had balls for taking the gig on knowing that they’d be really up against it. And to be fair, it’s not so much that they’re a shit band (come on, admit it, Pornograffiti was alright) but more that they seem like a bunch of utter wankers.

Re: Which Therapy? lyric best defines a period of your life? in General Therapy? Topics

All of Rise Up. My life is a bit of a shambles in pretty much every way possible now, this song is my reminder that at the end of the day I can only reply on myself and it’s up to me pull me through it.

Re: Manchester 27/05/06 in Therapy? Live

Awesome, awesomw gig. Seen T? around 15 times or so over the last ten years and hand on heart this was one of their best performances yet. They seemed like a band with fire in their bellies and a point to prove. Had to catch the last train, so left the venue after Innocent X which was a pisser, but as ever respect to the guys. I’ve been a bit jaded regarding music for quite a while now, but this has reminded me just how powerful and life-affirming a good band and gig can be, so thanks guys x

Re: Worst Song in General Therapy? Topics

Gone and Hypermania amongst others just make me switch off.

Re: Graham, Neil or Fyfe? in General Therapy? Topics

I don’t really think any of them are ‘better’ as such, they’ve all had their moments.

Fyfe - Babyteeth / Nurse
Graham - Suicide Pact
Neil - NANE

What interests me was hearing Graham play Fyfe’s work, and Neil playing all of it. Graham never sounded comfortable with Teethgrinder amogst others, but gave some of the Troublegum songs a new lease of life. Neil sounded (to me) like he was still trying to make himself comfortable on HA, but delivered a monster of a performance on NANE. His Teethgrinder kicks some serious arse as well. I think from a drum perspective, Suicide Pact is probably the most under-appreciated T? LP of the lot - there’s some fucking intense stuff going on there. Neil certainly seems to have helped inject some energy back into the band anyways. End of the day, T? wouldn’t be the T? they are today without any of those three guys, so love and respect to each of them.

There are a few tracks on Nurse that are a bit.. :o

Other than that, Body Bag Girl, God Kicks or Polar Bear for me.

Welcome to the boards! Whats ur fave album and song?

Today, NANE and Rise Up. But really, it changes depending on my moood, the weather, and state of sobriety (or lack of) amongst other things.

Re: Best of the spitfire three ? in General Therapy? Topics

Only just picked up OCFA so can’t really comment on that yet. I’d say High Anxiety just pips NANE, but it’s a close run thing. I think HA has the best opening salvo of any T? record I’ve ever heard, the first four tracks are all classic t? NANE has that fucking awesome bottom-end crunch going on, Rise Up, and Neil’s drumming sounds properly integrated within the band now, the whole record sounds tight as hell.

Re: Best Ballad in General Therapy? Topics

Another vote for The Boy’s Asleep. Just makes my hairs stand up when the guitar and chello kick in for the last chorus. Though it’s a close tie with Long Distance.

Re: Worst t? album in General Therapy? Topics

Worst… that’s such a harsh word. I prefer least favorite. I’d personally have to go with either Babyteeth, which never really clicked with me, or Shameless, due to the one or two throwawway tracks (Wicked Man, Body Bag Girl IMO) that ruin the flow of an otherwise top-notch album.

Hi all in General Therapy? Topics

Title: Hi all

Hi, long-time lurker that’s decided to join up and shoot the shit. I’m 28, been a T? fan sice 16, and into a wide variety of stuff. Thought I’d introduce myself before my name starts popping up on other threads. Please be nice to me. :)
