Its pretty funny alright. Sex Pistols were directly responsible for easily one of the greatest bands being formed, The Clash.

True. And Joy Division, The Damned, Siouxie and the Banshees … They also inspired people all over the country to learn to play and to form bands, and that still goes on. Nearly every teenager I know is either in a band or has been in one, or all their mates are in one. That never happened before …

@Dan - i mean John Lydon, not Gimme!

Re: Johnny Rotten on Coldplay… in Other Bands & Artists

Well said Gimme - I couldn’t agree more! When middle baby lobster was on that reality show they spent 8 days living with another band, and you wouldn’t have recognised any of them from the edit. They all got on pretty well 90% of the time, but that doesn’t make good TV.

And Dan, I don’t think he does it to try and get attention at all - he just says what he thinks. For every time you hear him slagging somebody off you have probably also heard him drone on for an hour about how much he loves his wife even though they have been together for 30 years, but you filter that bit out because it’s not what you are hoping to hear - you want him to believe he is nasty, but he isn’t.

i DID like johnny rotten, but he’s become a parody of himself. He could still be a relevent artist and saved all this backbiting for his 60’s, but i think as far as his career is concerend now he’s shot his load. PiL are one of THE vastly underrated bands we ever had, and he could still be doing it. I think its a real shame.

It IS a shame, but not for him though! He’s getting older, he doesn’t need to do it, he obviously doesn’t want to do it and he can afford not to do it. Good luck to him, I say!

And he’s hardly backbiting - he always says what he thinks, and he doesn’t care what people say about him - where’s the harm? You say what you like about other bands, would you keep your gob shut just because you were famous?

*laughs like a drain at the thought of Dan keeping his gob shut :p*

Re: Johnny Rotten on Coldplay… in Other Bands & Artists

I don’t think PiL ever broke up, did they? They did at least 10 albums …

Anyway I just thought I should jump in and say I have tons of respect for John Lydon - he’s been through some pretty hellish times and he is always true to himself, he has real integrity and is a genuinely decent human being.

*treads on lawyer*

Oh bollocks! Sorry d, it just got right under my feet. Still, I’m sure it won’t hurt your case to have a dead midget dressed as a pastry chef for a lawyer. If you could sit him on your knee and find some way to make his mouth open and close you would manage to persuade any jury of your innocence :)

Re: Bandykoot / Legacy Rox in Other Bands & Artists

*wonders why d would defend against accusations rather than suing Dan for slander*

*looks suspiciously at miniscule lawyer*

d, that ‘lawyer’ is wearing a chef’s outfit. How much did you pay?

Re: Bandykoot / Legacy Rox in Other Bands & Artists

Actually that should have been ‘whilst’. The other one is for illiterate midgets.

Only that he didn’t approve of the company you have been keeping. And that he didn’t approve of any of the stuff you have been getting up to with the company you have been keeping. And that he didn’t approve of the financial and emotional cost implications of the things you have been getting up to with the company you have been keeping. And that he thinks you stole his credit card. And that he thinks you have used his credit card to make purchases on http://www.whistlewhileyouwank.com

Does it have a leg and an arse on the cover? I don’t want anything that doesn’t look good on my shelves.
