Re: What to do ..?! in Chit-Chat

“Be as goos a friend to him as you can, as in listen to his problems etc ”

Should read:

“tell him to stop harrassing you whilst you’re busy trying to do his job and get some real mates to moan at”

Apart from that you were doing ok :p

Re: General Happy Birthday Topic! in Chit-Chat

Happy birthday, my little chicken mcflurry :)

I’ll find you an appropriate gift later on. As soon as you get a job … What were you THINKING????

Re: aren’t tattoo’s brilliant!! in Chit-Chat

*rams Dennis’s teeth up Gav’s arse and then shoves them back in his mouth*

Hello children :p

I will tell you now that for all the cliches and bollocks that everyone spouts there is absolutely nothing ever no way no how absolutely under any circumstances whatsoever would I ever want to ever go back to being under 40. Seriously. I’d love the kids to go back to being babies for a little while and I wouldn’t mind losing the bad back, but other than that I wouldn’t consider it for a second. I love being the age I am, and I’ve never been happier :)

One day you’ll all agree with me, but I’ll be dead by then :(

He’s not his friend though - he’s just got saddled with him at work…

Re: aren’t tattoo’s brilliant!! in Chit-Chat

I have no idea what to say to that, on the grounds that whatever I say is going to sound really bad!

Re: aren’t tattoo’s brilliant!! in Chit-Chat

That’s disgraceful. In spite of my liberal views I believe that tattooists should be shot dead for tattoing children.

Re: Stuff on the ‘Bay in Chit-Chat

And also is that your bedroom? The orange wall is exactly the same colour as my kitchen ceiling. You clearly have impeccable taste.

Re: Stuff on the ‘Bay in Chit-Chat

You know perfectly well she doesn’t

@Tubthumper - couldn’t you have just bought a corset off ebay instead of getting rid of all your clothes? :)

Aww I missed Hanne’s birthday :( Luckily I am almost certain she will have forgotten the whole thing by now :)

Re: aren’t tattoo’s brilliant!! in Chit-Chat

nooo!!! Stay tattoo free! My bloke is covered in them and I have learned to live with it, but normal skin is so much lovelier than tattoos or scar tissue.

Re: Gracious me… in Chit-Chat

I think it’s too late for d. The horse of doom has clearly won the fathoming battle. We need to arrange a bloody funeral now!!

*decides to leave all the Happy Birthday balloons up anyway*

Re: What to do ..?! in Chit-Chat

I would normally agree with Gav, but to be honest if he is having DTs at work then his alcohol problem is already out of control. I think the guy is going to end up getting sacked whatever you do.

Re: Gracious me… in Chit-Chat

I’m pretty sure that floor length is more than a yard, but less than a fathom. Which probably explains why you can’t fathom it.I don’t think you should try and get your head around it though - that way is almost certainly riddled with peril.

Morning Gav :)

Re: This messageboard has a lot to answer for… in Chit-Chat

I’m pretty sure you are right that I wasn’t taught it at school, but I just assumed that was because I never turned up! I am interested, but we should give this thread back to the baby now and finish it elsewhere :)

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/latin/advanced/lesson02/default.htm

Turns out the french use it, but it is part of advanced latin … Now to get back on topic, what subjects do we think Orinoco should opt for in year 9?

I had a dream earlier in the week that I had to register the baby’s name… and when it came to filling in the form I couldn’t remember what we had agreed… so I wrote down the first thing that came to mind.

I woke myself (& jess) up at half 5 in the morning laughing because I had named my first child ‘Magic Venison’

I’ve only just read that! I think waking up laughing is horrible, because the shock just makes me laugh even more and I always end up truly hysterical.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that that is really sweet - it’s obviously a play on words and you wanted to call it ‘dear’ :)

@Sam - so what is the third form of the verb?

And pluperfect bloody well does exist, I remember it from school. Although now I come to think of it it is possible I remember it from French lessons.

Re: This messageboard has a lot to answer for… in Chit-Chat

So what is past perfect? and pluperfect? and how many conditional’s are there?

Re: Gracious me… in Chit-Chat

“16 empty barrels of beer”, eh? How can they be empty barrels and be barrels of beer at the same time? I can’t believe a single word you say

That’s really disgusting. i have just thought about it and it has occurred to me that this ancient monitor I’m looking at has NEVER been cleaned :S

Happy Birthday Fuzzeh :)

Re: Gracious me… in Chit-Chat

There we go then, that’s that sorted.

*gives Gimme 10 bob*

Will you nip and get some stuffing for this swan, a cake. 20 loaves of bread and stuff to put in them, 16 barrels of beer and a horse?

Ta :)

Re: This messageboard has a lot to answer for… in Chit-Chat

I’m not spoiling anything I’m just interested. So why 3rd? Is it because it has 3 distinct parts to it, or because it is sort of abstracted away from an ordinary condition by 2 levels of weirdness - like chinese whispers?

You can tell me tomorrow if you like - I’m off to see Babar Luck now :)

*waves at Orinoco Danger Lobster*

*waves lobster at Orinoco*

Re: This messageboard has a lot to answer for… in Chit-Chat

What exactly is that tense, Sam? It’s a sort of weirdy past future conditional thing that I can’t figure out. And what does “pluperfect” mean?

@Gav and Jess - this isn’t off topic, you will need to know all this soon when number one son and baby Jane Doe are doing their SATS :S
