Have you tried watching the PC clock and then guessing when the minute is going to change? (This isn’t nearly so much fun if you have a second counter on your clock).

You could “get the undercover agents out” to use your example, but what if those same undercover agents were just on the verge of getting the information needed to prevent some awful thing from happening? You can keep the few that know quiet, but if it hit the headlines and everyone knew then the agents might be safe, but the information would be lost …

I don’t want you to think I’m not passionately in favour of civil liberties - I really am. There’s times when stuff should be reported and isn’t, and that’s easily as bad as the other way round :)

Now THIS I know something about! :) Did you know you can declare yourself bankrupt? If you owe credit cards and loans and stuff you can get them written off. You wouldn’t be credit worthy for 5 years, but it’s got to be better than paying it all back? Student loans don’t count, but most stuff does. You should go to the CAB and get it sorted :)

It’s a Wetherspoons pub, so I’m prepared to bet that the ‘full’ plate of Christmas dinner will come straight out of the freezer, be thrown into the microwave and then delivered (still frozen round the edges but hot enough to melt your cutlery in the middle) with bad grace by surly, miserable staff, made surlier and more miserable having been forced to wear santa hats and bells round their necks or something equally humiliating!

The food is very cheap there, but it’s also usually really, really bad!

That’s outrageous! What you need to do is to take them to the European Court… I’m sure I can speak for all the woMbles when I say that we will fight your cause and wave placards and stuff. Hooch will be able to find WoMble solicitors, and I think there’s a guy from the BBC here somewhere isn’t there? We’ll organise a big campaign, and our slogan will be ‘WoMs not Bombs’, which will capture the attention of the media and gain public sympathy… :)
