Hi

I’d love a copy and would be happy to pass on to another 3 fans. Could someone help me out - looks like a great show!

Cheers

Beano.

Re: 10 Random Facts About Me!!! in Chit-Chat

1 - I went to the same Uni as Fyfe Ewing’s ex-girlfriend (Coleraine). Met her a coupla times through friends. Yes I woulda…
2 - Bought my first Therapy? CD at same Uni record fair (Pleasure Death). Haggled the guy down from £6 to £4 (this was 1994 remember).
3 - I was a drummer in a band that supported Therapy?, Mastodon, Dragonforce, Hayseed Dixie, Firebird, Nashville Pussy, Orange Goblin and Destruction & Amon Amarth (!!). Not at the same gig btw… Supported Sons of Massey with my first band too.
4 - After the Therapy? support and loaded on free Tennents lager, I sponged a few fags off Andy had a laugh and drank some more. I don’t smoke and promptly spewed all over the van on the way home!
5 - I used to do the reading each year at the St Patrick’s Day mass when I was a teenager. I don’t do church any more :-(
6 - I had my first drink at 18. I had my first hangover at 18 and 6 months. The misery hasn’t stopped since. Damn.
7 - For most of my life, to this very day, a lot of family & friends call me by my brother’s name (and even his nickname). Don’t ask me. Yes he’s still alive!
8 - Fish as a food is the devil’s revenge on earth. I can’t taste, smell, touch etc the stuff. Vodka too.
9 - Is my lucky number…
10 - I stood on a stage with Snow Patrol at an early gig where there were 11 paying punters. They invited us all up for a song. They were a proper rock band in those days.

That’s the best I can think of now with a bottle of Shiraz in me ;-)

Re: Therapy? playin Belfast Festival 15th October Mandela Hall in Therapy? Live

I got the whole gig. Had to take a feed from my Sky+ box onto minidisc but the quality is pretty much the same as DAB.

However the FM broadcast itself was a pretty poor quality mix. Cymbals high, bass low, guitar all over the place!! It’s a nice wee souvenier of the gig all the same.

I’ll get it on to CD asap, probaly a couple of weeks as I have to get a mate to do it for me.

I’ll put it up on yousendit or something & let ye all know.

Rare T?shirt…?? in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

I’ve never seen this one before. I think it’s really cool.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Therapy-Rec-Co-Vintage-T-shirt-Good-Day-Hel … 2eaf24e2bd

Just a bit on the large side for my slender frame :-((
And a tad pricey too when you add in postage to UK!

Re: Therapy? playin Belfast Festival 15th October Mandela Hall in Therapy? Live

I’m recording from DAB to MD. I’ll try to get it on to CD at some stage so if you’re patient I’ll probably have it for sharing in a week or two.

I’m also Sky+ing it as a back-up in case of mishaps!!

Re: Therapy? playin Belfast Festival 15th October Mandela Hall in Therapy? Live

I really enjoyed that, although for some reason I don’t think the T? boys really kicked into gear until Unbeliever. From there to the end was something else. Not that up to Unbeliever was bad, I just don’t think it clicked somehow - I don’t know!!

My highlights were Innocent X, Potato Junkie, Brainsaw & Lunacy Booth.

Can’t wait to hear the radio broadcast although if BBC Radio Ulster’s track record is anything to go by, expect plenty of bleeps!!!

Dermot

If you liked LaFaro way back then, well they’re ten times the band now! You’re in for a treat.

Re: Therapy? playin Belfast Festival 15th October Mandela Hall in Therapy? Live

Let me tell you something, T? will have their work cut for them if LaFaro are supporting. Awesome band - the best in Ireland at the minute hands down.

My advice is to buy their album now!

Re: Favourite UK Bands in Other Bands & Artists

Cool it Jobrok. If you’d take the time to read the original post, it said include RoI bands.

I’m Irish too & I really don’t need a geography or history lesson when talking about music thanks very much ;-)

How could I forget ‘And So I watch You From Afar’?

Kerbdog. B.L.O.W. Reef, Gun.

Re: Favourite UK Bands in Other Bands & Artists

In no order -

Therapy
Joyrider
Turn
Black Car/Headswim
Pitchshifter
LaFaro
Almighty
Thunder
Fighting With Wire
Undertones

and about a hundred others I can’t think of right now. Wildhearts, Wolfsbane…

Some great Irish talent out there at the minute - LaFaro being the one’s to watch this year. If you get the chance you can download the album from ‘I’ll Eat Your Face’ for free from bandcamp. Brilliant stuff. Don’t forget Dutch Schultz. And Jetplane Landing. Spectator. Trucker Diablo. Howling Widow.

All on Myspace folks. More to follow!!

Quote (author unknown):

How far north is derry? if its not right up the top of ireland I mauy look into getting to ireland for 2 days and going to that and dublin.

Yeah, it’s right up top, North West. Ryanair fly’s in from Luton, Stansted, Birmingham, Glasgow or Liverpool if that’s any help. 3 hour bus trip to Dublin. Do it!!

Re: Look whats just shown up on ebay in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade

I’ve looked at this 100 times on as many websites thinking ‘should I/shouldn’t I?’. So can someone confirm for me - these tracks, are they the same versions that appear on Babyteeth or earlier recorded versions?? I’ve never been 100% sure.

That’ll make my mind up in an instant.
