Re: Album of the year? in Other Bands & Artists
It’s either United Underworld’s “Unshackled” or Mokoma’s “Luihin Ja Ytimiin”. Cannot decide… ;o)

Obviously you are going to be there? Singing this time, maybe? ;o)
Do you know who is playing bass? Somehow I don’t see that Matti will be part of that.

Re: Joshua Tree Reissue in Other Bands & Artists
I will definately get it. Even thought Rattle & Hum was “the” album to me. I think that these king of reissues are good. I hate the ones with just 2 or 3 extra tracks. They are rip-off’s, but these kind are much greater value. Here’s the stuff about it from billboard.com

U2’s ‘Joshua Tree’ Blooms Again
U2
October 16, 2007, 10:30 AM ET
Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
To celebrate the 20th birthday of its landmark album “The Joshua Tree,” U2 is reissuing the set in four different incarnations on Nov. 20 via UMe. The album will be available as a remastered single CD, a 2-CD set, a 2-CD/1-DVD collectible box and a double-vinyl package.
The single-disc will be housed in a jewel case, but the 2-CD set comes in a hard back case. The 2-CD/1-DVD version has a base and lid to accommodate the discs as well as five portfolio prints. Band members have contributed new liner notes for the package.
The second CD in the 2-disc package sports rare material from the period, including a single edit of “Where the Streets Have No Name” and B-sides such as “Spanish Eyes” and “Sweetest Thing.” The DVD comprises a July 4, 1987, show at the Paris Hippodrome, as well as the documentary “Outside It’s America,” a long-whispered-about but never released video for “Red Hill Mining Town” and an alternate version of the “With or Without You” clip.
Produced by Brian Eno, “The Joshua Tree” shot U2’s commercial fortunes into the stratosphere. The album’s first three tracks were huge singles, with both “With or Without You” and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Here is the bonus disc track list:
“Luminous Times (Hold On To Love)”
“Walk to the Water”
“Spanish Eyes”
“Silver and Gold”
“Sweetest Thing”
“Deep on the Heart”
“Race Against Time”
“Where the Streets Have No Name” (single edit)
“Silver and Gold (Sun City)”
“Beautiful Ghost”
“Introduction to Songs of Experience”
“Wave of Sorrow (Birdland)”
“Desert of Our Love”
“Rise Up”
“Drunk Chicken”
“America”

Malcolm Young. His sound is so unique and ass kicking. Way too underated guitarist.

Re: WILDHEARTS - Where to begin? in Other Bands & Artists
Why don’t you ask this on the Wildhearts forum?
I couldn’t care less about Wildhearts, but that’s my personal opinion.

It’s not hard at all to say that definately Troublegum. Wildhearts suck… I wonder what the result would be in Wildhearts forum? :p

You are totally wrong Dennis. Tommy is masterpiece! Forget about that “opera” thing if it’s annoys you, Tommy may be “opera” but how many operas can be played by four piece band? ;)
Tommy is in my personal Top10 like Led Zeppelins first album but like it has been said many times before, another man’s shit is another man’s honey… :D

Now, that’s overrated shit. I don’t catch that “thing” Captain Beefheart supposedly has. Sorry.

Re: Blood Sugar Sex Magik vs. Californication in Other Bands & Artists
No question about it. Definately Blood, Sugar, Sex & Magik. It’s the greatest Chilli’s and there is no weak track. I think that they went downhill after that…

Re: äpäre in Other Bands & Artists
His lyrics are quite much the same as on the previous 3 albums. Hate, anger, dirty whores, death, etc. So nothing new, but Pasi Koskinen said in one interview that there always seems to be problems in personal life when Ajattara’s texts has to be made.
It is quite hard for me to read the lyrics from the booklet as they used this time old finnish style of writing (f=s, w=v, c=k, etc.) and the font even makes it harder.
Oh, and if people is wondering what Theng is speaking about, it’s about a finnish band called Ajattara and their new album; “Äpäre”.

Re: T? coverband Potato Junkies in Other Bands & Artists
Even though they played older songs and set was short I really enjoyed this alot. I think it is great the young fellas like Bloodpit appreciates Therapy?s music so much that they perform their songs live (and only their songs).
I really hope that they keep on doing this… I was really surprised how good they played the songs through, there is moments you would thought there is Therapy? playing. :D
Thanks for letting us see this Pete!

Re: danko jones in helsinki in Other Bands & Artists
You are so correct on your describe on Viikate. I like them alot too, I have all their stuff except vinyls and have seen them a couple of times live.
Here’s a few great finnish bands (well, to me)
Amorphis
They released an new album called “Eclipse” a few weeks ago and now that they have a new singer it is awesome band! They are playing on Neckbreakers Ball 2006 in europe go check them out if you can.
Verenpisara
They play samekind of music like Viikate but there is not so much “twang” in their guitars and there is an exceptional singer called Rami Raski. They sing in finnish and they have alot finnish melancholy in their tunes.
Ajattara
Cannot discribe their music, it’s quite heavy as the vocals are sung by death-metal style. They also sing in finnish but they do the lyrics in the “old-style” they use really old words and sentence-structures that is used rarely in everyday life nowadays. Ajattara also has a new album out called Äpäre (“Bastard child”).
Amorphis and Ajattara has myspace sites where you can listen a few songs…

Definately Stranger Than Fiction. There is my favourite quote in “The Handshake”;
Handshakes are nothing but a subtle ‘fuck you’

Good to hear that you like it. I don’t have it as I’m waiting for the release date. I’m too lazy to seach it from the net… Tyhjyys is also a great album.

Yes they are. Every Finn looks like that because there is only 5 million inhabitants here plus the cold weather makes your skin look like that as we have to wrestle with polarbears while on way to work… :D
No, really Lordi himself said that they are going to be in trouble as they have to perform in Athens at summer and those costumes and maskes are heavy and unbreathable. It can be really interesting…

You can hear a small snippet of the song “Hard Rock Hallelujah” here, it kicks ass and Finland will win the contest like we have so many times before… Wait a minute, Finland has never won the contest. :D
