Re: Bands of WoM members in Chit-Chat

cheers for the comments guys.
the band is getting back together anyway.
just gonna get the new space finished and work out how to record it properly.
i don’t expect to get amazing sound.
we just want to record out jams and rehearsal’s to a half decent standard.

Re: Bands of WoM members in Chit-Chat

evening all,

i’m surprised i never put any of this up yet.

an old school friend and his mate were in a band ( 2 piece) and asked if i would join about 3 years ago.
we jammed for a year then started to write some original bits.
we recorded every single jam session we played (albeit only using a mic hanging from the ceiling, so the quality is lacking)
a couple of years or so ago our practice space flooded and we have not played since.
we are now in the process of setting up new space which has lead us to re-visit old material we were working on.

so… here for you giggling pleasure are 5 tracks we were messing about with.
there are actually about another 30 or so, but if i am honest these were the only 5 that were at least 70% completed.

1) SENT BY THE DEVIL TO BILL YOU - https://files.me.com/paulpryor/m3e53f.mp3
2) THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE SERVANTS - https://files.me.com/paulpryor/dcqtzl.mp3
3) TO BE A KING - https://files.me.com/paulpryor/61ez44.mp3
4) CHASING THE VAMPIRE - https://files.me.com/paulpryor/ybumk8.mp3
5) NEON - https://files.me.com/paulpryor/qxjv0l.mp3

Once the new rom set is set up we will have the ability to mic everything up and have it all wired into Logic running on a mac. this way we can EQ and do some kind of production work on some of the rough mixes of tracks we are working on.

Any feedback will be appreciated (again, bear in mind the tracks are far from finished, vocals are really mumblings due to lack of lyrics and the overall sound is lame)

Cheers!!!

Just got in from work, Damn, i only got to sleep after 3am and had to be up at 6.30am, not fun, but the sound of lawnmowers and leafblowers made me forget that i couldn’t hear anything properly.
Really enjoyable night, great friendly pit, great venue.
Roll on the next T? gig.

Re: Special 2010 London Shows Confirmed in Therapy? Live

arrrrrggggghhhh!!!!!

i don’t know what to do.
obviously i want to go to all 3. if they are gonna jumble up their sets each night i really dont want to miss out on any old bits they have not played for years.
for example if i went on the monday and found out they played prison breaker on the tuesday i’d be so pissed off.
but knowing my luck i’ll go to all 3 and they will play the same bits i wanna hear each night!!!
i really cant afford 3 shows, 3 nights of travel and 3 nights of alcohol at the moment either!!!
WHAT SHALL I DO!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Michael’s new diary entry in General Therapy? Topics

see the way i look at it is this…

i doubt any record label would be willing to make a huge box set with loads of low quailty demo’s and rehersals. iot would be so costly.
Nirvana got away with it with the 3cd/1dvd thing a couple of years back, but that Nirvana, this is Therapy?. As much as i love T? there would be no money in it for record labels… but…
if a digital only “box set” was released with a wicked selection of stuff from late 80’s / early 90’s there would be a small cost for the initial set up and i would pay good money for this sort of thing.

i just gave 30 seconds and met abstract demo’s a listen in a moment of nostalgia, my mp3s are only 96k, how lame is that. would love some better quality ones if any ones has em!!!!!

Michael’s new diary entry in General Therapy? Topics

Anyone else he excited by this?
I’d love to think we might one day get a chance to hear some of the early stuff he as tucked away on cassette.
I’d happily pay for downloads of early rehersals and gigs, even if the quality was a bit on the pants side!!!!!

Re: Faith No More in Other Bands & Artists

The official statement from the band:

Faith No More has always stood out as some sort of unique beast; part dog, part cat—its music almost as schizophrenic as the personalities of its members. When it all worked, it worked really well, even if the chemistry was always volatile. Throughout our 17 years of existence, the mental and physical energy required to sustain this creature was considerable and relentless. Though amicable enough, when we finally split, we all followed paths seemingly destined to opposite ends of the universe.

Yet during the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we’ve experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.

What’s changed is that this year, for the first time, we’ve all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we’ve discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right.

Meanwhile we find ourselves at a moment in time with zero label obligations, still young and strong enough to deliver a kickass set, with enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present. And so with this we’ve decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff…
BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!

We can only hope that the experience of playing together again will yield results erratic and unpredictable enough to live up to the legacy of FNM.
Who know where this will end or what it will bring up…only the future knows. But we are about to find out!

FAITH NO MORE are:
Mike Bordin, Roddy Bottum, Bill Gould, Jon Hudson and Mike Patton
