Re: Who should support t? in Therapy? Live

QOTSA!! It’d be funny to see a bunch of young, slick poster boys get pile-drived into the dust by a bunch of straight-forward old-school rockers with no vanity to bog them down! Alternatively, a full-scale Iron Maiden collaboration would rule!

Re: “new Yrs Eve” 2006/7 in Chit-Chat

CHEER UP MOTHERFUCKERS!!!

OK, maybe the New Year’s a bit of an empty concept but personally, I think its a great excuse just to log on, wish some good/not inherently bad people all the best, drink the last of the festive spirit, and watch 2006 go up in smoke! “2006 is dead, may she rot in pieces!”. Let’s all celebrate the end to a truly shite year!

Re: Happy New Year in Chit-Chat

Title: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Oh my God!

Can’t believe that I’m only the second fan to think of posting when it’s already 2100! Hope everyone has a great time; personally I’m getting the Scrumpy & Black and festive herbal cigarettes down me, in preparation for a self-induced coma around 0001 tomorrow morning. If anyone alse out there is sad enough to be on their computer on New Year’s Eve, ALL THE BEST FOR 2007, KEEP ON ROCKING!!!!

Re: Your first Therapy? Gig in General Therapy? Topics

Title: With a Face Like This I Don’t Break Any Farts!

Did no-one see the guys in Preston’s Student Union around October 1999? (I think - memory for dates has been devastated!) I think it might have been during their year doing whatever the fuck they felt like, though ther were busy promoting Suicide Pact at the time. I went alone (I know, I know.) as none of my Uni mates were even rock fans, but I couldn’t have forgiven myself if I’d missed it. The Gig was Un-be-fucking-lievable. The boys seemed so self-affacing and casual considering I’d been a fan for ages before this! It was a tiny venue and a very intimate gig: crowd-band interaction ar its best! An awesome 1st experience and they weren’t even trying that hard! Was anyone else at Preston Uni/At this gig and know whar I’m talking about?

Re: Michael’s Christmas Diary Entry in General Therapy? Topics

MERRY FUCKING CHRISTMAS BOYS!!! Great to hear the WebGig’s finally ready to roll, I for one fully intend to but the whole thing and bag me some nive artwork, no bugger’s getting a free copy through me, that’s for sure!! Would like to appeal to all other genuine fans (surley all of you?!) to show a little solidarity and treat your sownloads in the spirit they’re intended for when finally launched. It#d be so easy to inadvertantly fuck over possibly the most undersung, hard-rocking band out there by succumbing to the temptation of YouTube and the like. It’d great for home-made movie buffs, less great for REAL bands like THERAPY?. Go rip off some Metallica vids instead, they can deal with it and probably deserve it too!! Seasons Greetings to All, Hope You All Drink Too Much And Puke!! (I certainly will!)

Must admit that I had bits by then on compilations of stuff (I hear the screams of “Neanderthal” in the background), but it was Infernal Love that got me truely hooked. Then I spent every single pound I could lay my hands on getting the back catalogue.

I’m 29 & agree with Edz comments - good quality music transends all ages.

But unfortunately not enough people in Kent appeqar to be cultured enough to know about T? But the mates (Hardy, Mason, Lucas & Smudge) I do have, truly understand the value of T?s contribution to music.

Such a relief to know we’re all still out there!! I sympathize with the Kent dilemna: I live in Shropshire and there’s a similar story here. Perhaps a more telling thread would have been “Are Therapy? fans loners by default?”. Not that I have no friends, just that none of them are really aware of Rock’s glory days in the early nineties.

Listening to T? since summer 1991, was 23 back then.

Thank Fuck for that, was beginning to think I was too old to still be listening: I’m 29 now, (just on the 6th this month) but its great to know the original fans didn’t all just get wiped out in the craziness of the early nineties!!!

Colinx

I hear ya, friend: It’s like that for me too most of the time! I often suspect I have an unhealthily narrow obsession but I think there’s a uniqueness to T?’s music that’s hard to leave for other, equally diverse and hard-working bands at times! Plus, they seem to cover the things in life that affect us the most, with the most honesty. I guess it just sums up the instability of your average T? fan!!!!!!!!!

Apart from that i’m not fussed! I would like them to do another Nurse type record. Metal meets pop with dub bass and twisted production! That would be awesome! Oh, and with the low tunings of recent albums!

How cool would that be?! Come on Cairns - get sick with it!

As an older fan, I’ve got to agree with this: For me T?’s original appeal was their stark, surreal rawness, that fear of the dark anxiety. The boys could do with rediscovering some of their old neuroses, methinks!

Title: Merry Fucking Easter Yer Old Bastid!!

SHIT!! Got so wasted in your honour last night, forgot to post you my regards! Here’s once more to the coolest rocker never to’ve sold out & gone all Motley Crue on us! No doubt you’ll still be in celebration mode right now so - from the bottom of my festering heart - CCCHHHHHEEEEEEEEERRRRRSSSSS!!!!!

I once found Fyfe down the back of my sofa.. he could have been there for months, poor little fella was slightly malnutritioned and very fluffy. But after a cup of tea and a few bourbons he seemed better, then i de-linted him using some parcel tape and sent him on his merry way.
That was about the weirdest place… who would have thought… it was lucky i was looking for change or god knows how much longer he would have been there!

Think I once saw Mike flashing the cash around a dingy backstreet orphanage with a goat under his arm, though he may just’ve been out grocery shopping.

If I was in any serious band , that fcukwit Williams would be the last one I would have embarassing me by mentioning the good name of my band.

Before you know it , his ‘fans’ turn up at T? gigs and we have a bunch of 15 year old histerical girls throwing their knickers at Andy.

Christ, or what’s [pssibly worse: women your mum’s age hoping for some kind of rat pack rendition, then jigging along to screamager thinking it’s a modern re-interpretaion of some Sinatra number! Then again, maybe the guys’re secretly into that sort of thing! Andy belts out “My Way” to a hoard of adoring 50yr olds…

Where there’s a Williams, there’s a way! Hope no-one else named Williams takes this personallly; I’m refering to the monkey-faced nausea merchant of course. Maybe collectively we could turn his face into a question mark! Less stealth, more bleed! Uh-oh, starting to sound obsessive now…

Just the thought of some coffee table saccarine arsewipe trying to espouse his musical knowledge by mentioning the likes of Therapy? makes me want to get out there and use my hitherto useless Rap T’ou on his face and testicles. ” It slices, it dices, it shreds,… ” etc.

Re: Weirdest place you’ve found something Therapy? in General Therapy? Topics

Not over;y weird, but bacl in ‘96 I was on hols in a really naff resort in Turkey, where I bought my first copy of Nurse! It was a tiny independant shop, half the size of your average garage, up a dingy alleyway in the Bazaar part of town. Apparently there’re no copyright laws in Turkey so its left to private entrepreneurs to peddle their own “bootleg” copies of albums as there’s no official music industry there as such. I was amazed that the Turks had good enough taste that there’d be a demand for such edgy rock!!!
