Me too. And I love the front cover also so PD gets my vote. I wonder who are the people on the back cover?

Re: Stooges: The weirdness in Other Bands & Artists

You just need to give it some time. I told in an earlier post that “She took my money” is a corny song but now that son of a bitch is one of my favorites off The Weirdness :) The same thing happened with a lot of some other songs (i.e My idea of fun, Mexican guy, Free & Freaky etc). I think this album has a better impact to a listener who has absolutely no expectations of it :D

I haven’t really listened to Iggy’s solo albums (at least not the newer ones) so I can’t compare, but I gotta admit that this album lacks the mind-blowing bass sound the late Dave Alexander brought to the first two albums. Then again, “Raw Power” doesn’t have that sound either.

well done matey, someone else who actually likes the final cut. :)

Yes sir! An underrated masterpiece :) I had trouble deciding between “Fletcher” and “John” but the latter fit better with the other tracks on my compilation.

Re: Good Guitar Solos in Other Bands & Artists

“Wrathchild” by Iron Maiden has a fantastic guitar solo.

Also, “I Wanna Be Your Dog” by the Stooges. If I remember correctly, it even got voted for “One of the best guitar tracks ever”.

Does it have a song called “O Solo Mio”? I noticed some cd versions list that song as a bonus track but my copy doesn’t have it :(

Re: What’s EveryOne Listening To in Other Bands & Artists

Recently I’ve been listening to P.I.L’s compilation album and this terrible live bootleg “Raw and Live” by the Sex Pistols.

Re: Stooges: The weirdness in Other Bands & Artists

I just visited Berlin and bought The Weirdness. At first, every single song sounded boring. It was weird since the first three albums have kicked ass instantly, especially Fun House.

But after a few intensive listening experiences The Weirdness has grewn on me. Sure it’s got a couple of bad songs (“She Took My Money” and “I’m Fried” are not-that-good) but The Stooges still sound great and Iggy’s voice has improved since year 1973 :D Ain’t that a surprise.

The only thing that bugs me is the strange mix on the album. When you listen to it on the stereo, it’s difficult to hear the vocals. Although, it may be ‘cause of my pathetic speakers. The vocals are very clear when listened through the headphones.

I wasn’t expecting much from this album since these “reunion” thingies are usually catastrophic. The Stooges still have that energy on them. I like the album better than Raw Power, actually.

Three best songs are
Trollin’
Greedy Awful People
ATM

Re: One cure fits all - intentionally screwed sound? in General Therapy? Topics

The production doesn’t bother me anymore, even though at first I couldn’t listen to the album without headphones.

Now, only “Into the Light” sounds awful. It’s the only track on the album that I skip because of the bad production and the song itself ain’t that good either. But I think NANE has more fillers than OFCA.

Re: Best Bass Riffs ever! in Musicians (Gear, Tabs & Lyrics)

“I Got Erection” by Turbonegro has a wicked bassline, even though the song sucks.

Also, any song from the first two Stooges albums (well, not L.A Blues). Simple but brilliant.

Re: Your Idea Therapy? collaboration in General Therapy? Topics

I think it would be cool to hear Andy and Glenn Danzig sing “Where Eagles Dare” together with Therapy? playing all the instruments.

Re: Now what if… in General Therapy? Topics

Well, back in 1994 when “Troublegum” was released, MTV would play all kinds of music, including Therapy? videos. I believe that increased record sales and got them lots of new fans who had never heard about the band before. Nowadays MTV is all about that R’n’B / Hip Hop garbage and in my home country kids watching MTV and local music video channels haven’t heard Therapy?. So I don’t think TG would be as big a success as it was back then if it was released now. And that’s a damn shame.

Don’t know about OCFA though. I think it requires intensive listening before it grows on you. Troublegum is “easier”.

Re: Therapy song for fallin’ asleep… in General Therapy? Topics

I once passed out during “Diane” but that’s because I was drunk.

“Gone” seems to me like a fine Therapy? lullaby. Oh, and “30 Seconds”, too.

Re: OCFA what do you think? in General Therapy? Topics

I think OFCA is pretty good especially since I had no expectations towards it. I haven’t heard all Therapy? albums but this one seems to be the only one by far which I can put on to play in the background without concentrating to it. Can’t do that with the other albums.

Favorite songs at the moment are Sprung, Our White Noise and DSA. Into The Light is quite horrible.

Adam West all the way. It was quite breath-taking seeing him struggling with a killer shark on the end of a rope in the first Batman movie :D

Re: Threads with poor Grammar..?! in Chit-Chat

Hi there :) The off-topic thing sounds very familiar and sometimes it’s kinda fun to watch when the subject changes to something completely different. Yeah, I’ve just found this place and did a little investigation before registering here just to find out what kind of people write stuff here. I was immediately impressed about the content. I’ve discovered about thousands of new things about T? and their music in about two days :D

Re: T? vids on youtube in General Therapy? Topics

Hmm, I was looking for the “Opal Mantra” music video in Youtube ‘cause I remember it being the first T? vid I ever saw. Anyway, I couldn’t find it and it doesn’t appear on the DVD either. Then I started thinking if there ever was such a video?
