Re: First Post (Hello and which album to get next) in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Welcome Mole1985!
Since you already have “Troublegum”, I’d recommend following it up with similar-era material. “Infernal love” from ‘95 is consistantly popular, so that’s probably the best choice for you.
My favourite is 1999’s “Suicide Pact”, but it’s more difficult and claustraphobic than Troublegum. Or like Fatboy said, the recently released BBC Sessions (91-98) album would be good to get too.

Re: 1 year 1 day on! in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Happy birthday, little dude :p
Fuckin’ hell - 13!
Do you look at stuff from 1994 as strange and old fashioned? Just like how I look at 1979?
“Troublegum” for you is like “Highway To Hell” for me!

Greetings and welcome to this Great Wall of Mouths I meet Andy and Micheal once they were doing a dj set in Waterford(Ireland) and i was drinking(heavaly)in the bar and they walked in i wasn’t sure it was them so i had another 2 pints and walked up to them completly star struck(and drunk) and got there autographs it was cool and then I drank some more played guitar for the supporting band for one song and then fell around the dance floor by myself it was a great night because I remembered it.:p
I was at that DJ set in Shefflins and I think I remember you. That was the night Throat were supposed to play but no-showed. If I remember correctly, you were off your face and staggering all over the stage :p
How the hell could you remember the next day?

Re: Hell o in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Gobmosh, I do indeed remember the White Horse gig in ‘96 - I even got my mug in Kerrang! at that show. That was one crazy excellent fucking gig… the boys kicking off with Punishment Kiss, followed by Skyward. Oh, those were the days! I remember nearly passing out with exhaustion towards the end of that gig, due to 80 people being jam-packed into a tiny room.
I was also at the Red Box MTV gig, though that wasn’t so good. Andy was off his face at that show.

Re: Old fan rediscovers Therapy? in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
ShortSharpShock, Face The Strange, Opal Mantra.
Released in the US as “Hats Off To The Insane”, and in Europe as “Born In A Crash”.
Both those compilations have different tracklistings but neither include all the tracks.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on SPYF, it’s their best album IMHO :)
Yeah, same here. It’s my favourite album.
I thought it was a bit weird at first, but after a while you begin to see it’s brilliance.
After that I’d have to go with Babyteeth. Also brilliant are the 3 EPs from 1993 - they would have been superb if released as a full compilation.

Re: hey chaps in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Shitsville, apart from the albums you already have, you have to get “Caucasian Psychosis” (a combination of the “Babyteeth” & “Pleasure Death” mini-albums - they might be easier to get individually). Those 2 mini-albums were Therapy’s first releases and are, quite frankly, fucking excellent.
Also one of my favourite albums is 1999’s Suicide Pact.

Re: Hey in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Hi man, welcome and all that! :)
Yeah, Suicide Pact is a rocking album, the band made that with a “fuck the press/media” attitude. It was a deliberately noisy array of tunes.
If you’re looking for other albums, the most popular T? by far (as far as the general public go anyway) is 1994’s Troublegum. It’s more direct and punk rock/metal in it’s approach. Not my favourite album, but possibly the “safest” for you to buy, if you know what I mean.
If you’re looking for a noisy garage album - no Therapy? album sounds like ‘Suicide Pact’, but ‘Caucasian Psychosis’ from 1992 is certainly the closest noisy bastard of a record. You can’t really go wrong with that album, although the production is a little horrible.
Failing all that, their 2003 album ‘High Anxiety’ is well worth the cost of a few pints.
Whichever album you buy, you can’t really go wrong… unless you’re talking to Hooch, and she’ll tell you to run a mile from ‘Shameless’, but that’s another story for another day! …the poor dellusional woman :(

Yeah, I got the Dinah Brand album a few months ago.
It’s, uhh, ‘interesting’ in a “nice to listen and chill out to, but not really my cup of tea” kinda way!
It’s ok for what it is - a very mellow acoustic record.

Re: I never did say hello… in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
“I can taste the dirt in my mouth
I can see the nape of your neck from here
I climb the tightrope high
My only safety net is beer
I cross this wooden floor
I lie in a jaded pile
A trace of dribble down my shirt
Is that a friend of yours
Holding a two by four?
If it is, you better say your prayers”
Great band, dodgy lyrics :)
