Have a good one, Grant.
Eh, you got fired from McCorporation? I missed that!
What happened? Let me guess, you spoke English too much? ;-)

Re: aren’t tattoo’s brilliant!! in Chit-Chat
Hmm, I’m never quite sure about getting a bands’ name or logo tattoo’d.
What if one of ‘em turns out to be a kiddie-fiddler or something? I mean, I bet someone somewhere has a Gary Glitter tattoo before he was busted!!

Re: Whats the next gig you want to go to? in Chit-Chat
This is what I’m up against… the Sunday line-up at Oxegen;
MAIN: Rage Against The Machine, Kaiser Chiefs, The Fratellis, The Kooks, The Blizzards, The Feeling, Eddy Grant.
2ND: Chemical Brothers, The Raconteurs, Republic Of Loose, Kate Nash, The Pigeon Detectives, We Are Scientists, The Courteeners, The Subways.
3RD: Ian Brown, The Pogues, Tom Baxter, Reverend and the Makers, Jack Penate, Alabama 3, The Stranglers, The Hold Steady, The Whigs
Plus there are a bunch of other stages not worth mentioning.
Typical Ireland - whatever’s the flavour of the month in the UK, we’ll follow suit like sheep. :-(

Re: Whats the next gig you want to go to? in Chit-Chat
Oxygen festival next Sunday. I got a ticket a few months ago when I heard Rage against the Machine were headlining, I assumed the rest of the bill would be rock/metal. I was wrong. Apart from Rage, the heaviest band playing in Kaiser Chiefs. ‘Nuff said.
Can’t say I’m looking forward to it too much.

Re: The Lisbon Treaty in Chit-Chat
I agree with KJC, if the EU truly was a democracy then they should accept the Irish ‘No’ vote with grace and move towards a solution. Is it saying something that the only country whose people were allowed to vote (‘cos it’s in the Irish constitution that we must vote on all matters; a hangover from being occupied without rights for 800 years) voted no? The EU dictators simply think we should go fuck ourselves ‘cos we’re only a small nation.
Being bullied into saying ‘Yes’ isn’t the answer - if it does go to another vote next year or whenever, it will be rejected by an even bigger margin. Bullying and threats of sanctions is not the way to get a ‘Yes’ vote from us. In the first place, if they had treated us with respect and said “look, you lose out here and there, but the gains are this…” then the Treaty may have been passed. But they treated us like submissive little kids and they got their reward!
Not that I’m political, like. :-)

Re: England Supports Holland on 2008 football championship in Chit-Chat
I was completely wrong about the Dutch team’s chances - they look fantastic. I hope they carry it on and win the thing.
It would help erase the nightmare footie ‘played’ by Greece last time around.
mr self destruct, nice that your missus is from Holland - my missus is from Poland who’ve embarassed themselves at the euro’s so far!
She’s not too impressed. She gave me a bollicking the other night ‘cos I laughed when the 57 year old Austrian chap scored a penalty in added time.

Nope. She’s not too keen on the whole internet scene. Although I did bring her to see T? supporting Motorhead a while ago and she enjoyed it and has been asking when T? are playing in Ireland next. So that’s good!

My original post is now null and void, as I’ve been successfully hen-pecked and had my spirit broken for the last two years.

Re: fantasy euro 2008 in Chit-Chat
I dunno. I had a little chuckle when the now obligatory Dutch in-fighting happened again. This time it’s Schneider and Van Persie. Although Ruud van Horseface is behaving himself so far, surprisingly.
I have a feeling they’ll be on an early flight (train?) home. And France. I have a sneaky feeling for Romania to shock everyone and knock two of the big boys out.

And happy fuck-all to those people celebrating birthdays today but are never here on the boards!
I can say that ‘cos none of ‘em will read this and abuse me in retaliation!

Re: what was the last gig you went to? in Chit-Chat
Saw Ricky Warwick (ex- The Almighty) playing in my local pub last night. Very good show, just him with an acoustic. The guys got a great voice it has to be said. Hung around chatting with him afterwards, an all round cool guy.
He’s playing in Cork tonight if anyone’s interested!

Romania topped Holland’s group in qualifying and they’re in good form - far from the whipping boys in that group! I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they progress.

Re: fantasy euro 2008 in Chit-Chat
Quim (POR), Lahm (GER), Metzelder (GER), Kovac (CRO), Carvalho (POR), Ronaldo (POR), Iniesta (SPA), Galasek (CZ), Klose (GER), Torres (SPA), Koller (CZ). SUB: Ambrosini (IT)
That team is the shizzle - you gotta look at the groups each team is in. Portugal & the Czechs are the only dead certs to get out of their groups I think. I reckon Germany could go a long way too. Holland could be a first round casualty.

Jerry, you may delete my number from your phone, and my email address from your computer.
If someone was trying to abolish television, all they would have to do to win the argument is just say one word - “eastenders”.
It doesn’t matter how many good arguments for tv there are, that abomination will squash each one. Without fail.
The worst program in the history of ever.

No, it’s definately not a banana.

Great start for me - I can’t even pick my team.
I’ve registered and I’m logged in, but where it says “play now”, I click there and nothing happens because there’s no link.
Is it just me then?
