Anyone else been gipped over the signed webgig cover? in General Therapy? Topics
Title: Anyone else been gipped over the signed webgig cover?
Guys, I made a payment to buy the Therapy? webgig on the 12th of March this year. Been waiting for five months to receive my signed cover. Nothing. Gave my address at checkout and paid on paypal, did everything they told me to do. Still have my receipt too.
Went to check the website today and saw this :-
“We will stop selling the webgig on August 10th, 2007. Dont miss out on this exclusive Therapy? releaseorder now.* Please note: the limited run of 750 signed covers is sold out. The full set (audio + video) no longer includes a signed cover for new orders.”
It’s the last part that pisses me off. Okay, when I ordered the gig and provided my address on paypal, five freeking months ago, it didn’t say anything about a limited run of 750 covers at all!
I feel gipped and massively ripped off. This is new information that wasn’t on the site when I ordered the gig. I can’t believe that after waiting five months, I’m now seriously being told that I’m not going to receive the cover that I paid for, when it was blatantly in stock. What gives?
Just want to know if anybody else has been shafted by this, by A) Placing an order months ago and receiving nothing and B) Not being told it was a limited run and once the first 750 had gone, you wouldn’t receive anything. It blatantly didn’t say that anywhere on the site when I ordered. Honestly, truthfully and sincerely.
What a crock!

Nausea Single/Hate Kill Destroy in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
Title: Nausea Single/Hate Kill Destroy
Hi folks, two questions, if I may!
First up, exactly how much does the digipack of HKD go for? I was bidding on it on ebay recently and gave up at the £12 mark or so. Is it really quite rare these days?
Secondly, a friend of mine says he has a copy of the Nausea single from Nurse. I checked the discography on this site and it doesn’t show up there. Does that mean it’s rare or am I grabbing the wrong end of the stick?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: 60 watt bulb in Therapy? Buy, Sell & Trade
Not wanting to start another flame war but…
I could do with a copy of 60-watt bulb too, if anyone has one to spare, please.
…and please, before anyone even starts, I have a WHOCKING great Therapy? collection and yet 99% of Church of Noise copies online feature the video and suing god (the version I already have) not the 90 watt bulb version (which I personally think is quite significantly rarer)
Cheers!

Havent got lyrics for the songs yet but i’l leave that to the genius that is Mr Cairns!
Didn’t you know? The original demo for ‘He’s not that kind of girl’ was called ‘Baby pigeons’ ?
Here’s a copy of the unprinted lyrics!
Baby Pigeon
—————-
“Hey baby I dig your caw,
I like the way you waddle, but they think it’s kind of stupid,
You don’t squawk much, but I don’t care
They think you’re free range, but I think you’re kind of pecky.”
It’s a little heard version, several times rarer than 60-watt bulb. Honest!

I can’t really partake since i dont know any material from Shameless! Except I am the Money,,,,,
Shameless would have worked better as a mini album like Babyteeth or Pleasure Death, as the first half of the album isn’t too bad at all.
That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it :D

Re: BBC Sessions - music through a cheap transistor in General Therapy? Topics
Limited edition, shiny, holographic, signed, dated version only available from the website on CD please :D
Mp3’s are all well and good, but I’d love a proper CD of this and the web gig.
I’d rather the band gets all my money then itunes taking a cut from the profits!

Voodoo doll is Therapy?s worst song in my opinion!!
Have to say again i hate that song with a passion!!!!
Cool! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But remember, the song is a bona-fide piss-take of pop-punk and that’s why I like it ^^
Still, I know I have controversial opinions on things. Example - I didn’t get on with Pleasure Death AT ALL. Love potato junkie - the rest? Nah.
This is despite LOVING Babyteeth with every ounce of my being. An album with seven tracks of which five are classics. (Dancing with Manson, Skyward, Meat Abstract and such. What a CLASSIC)
I just can’t get on with Pleasuredeath. I also think the first half of shameless is awesome up until Delorean. It’s like the album ran out of steam half way through :D

I like the song voodoo doll. For me, it’s not the worst Therapy? song. It’s a good pop and punk rock sound
I agree. It’s a extremely silly piss-take of all those pop punk tunes that do the rounds. Anyone that hates it is kinda missing the point ^^

Someone’s already suggested it? The hive-mind of this community scares the crapoella out of me ^^
Still, definitely hope the guys do it. I’d buy a copy. Perhaps they could sweeten the deal with a couple of the rare tracks I’m having trouble getting hold of, like 60 watt bulb and all :D

Title: So much for the twenty year plan :) (merged)
Hi folks. Had a bit of a crazy thought the other day :)
When the compliation of “So much for the ten year plan” came out, it covered Therapy’s output from 1989 to 1999.
Since 2000, when the album was released, Therapy? have put out Shameless, High Anxiety, Never Apologise Never Explain, One Cure Fits all, The Webig, BBC sessions etc
As we’re already into 2007, it’s only two years until Therapy? hit the bit 20. Does anyone reckon they’ll put out another ten year compliation to celebrate the 1999 to 2009 period? I bloody hope so :D
Just for a laugh (and baring in mind, it’s two years until the big date, they may well release another album or two by then) I’ve put together a compliation of songs I really like from 99 to the present, as a sort of suggested compliation, so everyone can disagree with me and call me %*%$%&$%% insane for missing out their favourite tunes ^^
Here’s my working playlist for 10 year Plan - the revenge (crap working title!) Sticking to 16 tunes as that’s how many are on the first compilation, from 1999 to present.
1. I am the money (Shameless)
2. If it kills me (High Anxiety)
3. Play on (Rain Hits Concrete EP)
4. Rust (High Anxiety)
5. Rain Hits Concrete (One Cure fits all)
6. Sprung (One Cure fits all)
7. Wicked Man (Shameless)
8. Perish the Thought (Never Apologise, Never Explain)
9. This ship is sinking (Never Apologise, Never Explain)
10. Polar Bear (Never Apologise, Never Explain)
11. Deluded Son (One cure fits all)
12. Not in Any Name (High Anxiety)
13. Hey Satan, You Rock (High Anxiety)
14. Stand in Line (High Anxiety)
15. Dance (Shameless)
16. Long Distance (Never Apologise, Never Explain)
Agree? Disagree? Got a line up of your own? Post it! Or tell me why this one is ass ^^ It’s all in good fun.
Don’t cheat though. Only post 1999 albums allowed!

Welcome on board.
The seller of the HKD single is just crazy, even for Femtex you don’t have to pay such prices. The HKD single has been on ebay a while ago, for about 5 euro I think and it didn’t even got sold. It’s limited to 2000 copies.
I’ve got a spare HKD promo single, it’s got the same tracks as the single, also the same cover, difference is though that it’s not in a digipack, but just a cardboard sleeve, if you’re interested in a trade, you can e-mail me.
Glad to finaly see someone again who likes Shameless and My Voodoo Doll :)
I hope you’ll like One Cure Fits All, but if you like the RHC ep and Sprung, you’ll no doubt love the album
Well, I liked the first half of Shameless. Wicked Man, This one’s for you, I am the Money, Give me back my brain and such. The second half of the album I could take or leave IMHO.
It’s not a consistently great album like Troublegum, Never Apologise or High Anxiety, but some people make it out to be total crap when there’s some very nice stuff on there. It’s also more immediately accessible than Suicide Pact. (Discounting Six Mile Water, Jam Jar Jail, Little tongues first and such which are instant classics. As is God Kicks, for the sheer Leonard Cohen/Nick Cave-esque insanity)
That’s just my opinion though and it’s fully open to being shot down spectacularly from a great height!
Sprung is wicked. It’s the default tune at the moment on Therapy’s myspace. Love it. Love Rain hits Concrete too. Play on from the EP should have made the album though. It’s sweet!

There was a member of these boards selling HKD for £3 last year, so that’s quite a steep step up.

Aha, so he’s overcharging by £97 or so.
I thought that seemed a bit insane! ^^

Re: Hey Therapy? you ROCK in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Ah damn. I keep forgetting things and it only gives me ten minutes to edit something. BAH.
I was going to ask about about the ‘Hate, Kill, Destroy’ single off Suicide Pact. I’ve seen it on sale on amazon.co.uk for over £115 o.O
Is it really that rare? I know it was the only single off that album, but I didn’t see anything special on the single.
I could understand a high price for a RARE single like Femtex, but is this seller just being silly?

Re: Hey Therapy? you ROCK in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Oh! Forgot to ask (if anyone’s feeling helpful)
Didn’t mention, but I have lots of holes in my Therapy? collection for missed non-commercial b-sides, bootlegs, rares and such.
Does anyone have any sites with these sort of things on? I mean the rares like Evil Elvis, With or Without you, 40 watt bulb and such, nothing commercial
Any help greatfully received!

Hey Therapy? you ROCK in New Members (Introduce Yourself)
Title: Hey Therapy? you ROCK
Hi there. Signed up today. Gigantic Therapy? fan, have been for about 14 years in fact. Have and love all their albums (and yes, that includes shameless. Can’t understand why that gets ragged on so much) and several of their singles/eps and such. Only one I’m missing so far is One Cure, which I’m hoping to pick up this weekend.
Hard to pick a favourite, but I’m VERY, very keen on High Anxiety and Never Apologise, both flawless if you ask me. Those two albums are fricking amazing. Obviously, Troublegum and Infernal Love are both immense and Semi-Detached is awesome for the most part.
Found Suicide Pact patchy at first, but it’s growing on me now. Have Caucasian Psychosis in the place of Babyteeth/Pleasuredeath along with Nurse and love the hell out of all of them too. I’ve heard Sprung and have the Rain Hits Concrete EP, so I can tell I’m going to love the newest album.
Couple of questions are puzzling me though!
1) The hidden track on High Anxiety is total awesome-sauce. Why wasn’t it included in the normal track listing? It easily sounds good enough to be on the album lineup proper.
2) Play on, from the Rain Hits Concrete EP is good enough to be a single and yet doesn’t even feature on the album. What’s up with that? (could ask the same question about Evil Elvis, suing god, 40 watt bulb and such too coming to think about it. There’s so many blinding Therapy? tunes that don’t belong as B-Sides.
So anyway, hi, glad to be onboard. If you curious as to why ‘voodoo doll’, I find that song utterly hilarious and awesome. Even when Therapy? are having a laugh at a genre their tunes sound immense.
* wave *
