Re: Social Distortion in Other Bands & Artists
Social D live! Saw ‘em locally in the last year or so. You will not be disappointed.

Re: Death Race 2012 in Chit-Chat
Dick Clark wasn’t known worldwide, I guess. He did American Bandstand and owned many media conglomerates throughout the States and worldwide. I’ve got Gibb on my list, as I assume at least a few others might.

One of my favorite of Andy’s lyrics, sarcastic and morbidly funny: “This is progress / Don’t look down”

Re: A Brief CracK Of Light in General Therapy? Topics
Got it yesterday in the post. Jewel case was shattered, (thanks to whomever, most likely USPS) but the CD was golden. Fucking awesome album throughout, particularly on a good pair of headphones. Yeah, I’m that old. :-)
It’s a bit like CT but “deeper and darker,” as Andy promised. But, Man Alive, it’s dreary in parts, never boring, but fucking downward, no? Am I maybe the only one that thinks Plague Bell may be an unapologetic “fuck you” to people that hope for Troublegum II: Electric Boogaloo? Marlow is definitely MM lite. But, I think that’s why I like it. 4 mins of wanking into guitars (with some nice choral vox as well) beats the shit outta 10+. Or, so the wife tells me.
The Buzzing is a fanfuckingtastic mindfucker. And aren’t Ghost Trio, Why Turbulence and Stark Raving Sane the best 1-2 jab and right cross anyone could ask for? Great album!

The responses sound encouraging! But it’s gonna take a while for it to get to the States, I spose. Global says it’s on the way, at least.

Re: New single? in General Therapy? Topics
You’ve definitely done better than me! Aside from “treacle” and “baggage,” I think “have got a new tour bus” might be “have got to interpret.” And “I heard it never needs your my lived life” could be “I heard it every inch of my lived life.” But I’ll wait for the lyric sheet to be certain. ;-)

Meh. (I wasn’t) ;-)
@Dermot, thanks for the kind words, but I think Lola’s still got it. Didn’t realize she had AF as well. True, I’ve got some unique oldsters that could kick, and it is winter, and “the devil sends the beast with wrath, because he knows the time is short”, but odds-wise, it’s done.

I think you’ve got it in the bag. Unless, of course, I make a trip to Detroit and pay a little visit to Aretha Franklin. :-D

Re: Metallica & Lou Reed in Other Bands & Artists
It is lyrically pretentious and impregnable; it is sonically monotonous, unfocused and unfinished. It’s like a one-take-drunk nightmare jam going nowhere, a marathon of poor vocals and second rate free form riffage. Lou Reed’s rap/singing almost never even remotely occupies the same space-time continuum as the music. I already knew Reed couldn’t sing, but what up with Hetfield? He sounds like a nursery of rabid raccoons trying to revive West Side Story.
That being said, “Little Dog” is a quietly effective and heartbreaking song. Pity they didn’t scrap just about everything else and start again from there. But it’s kinda cool they tried something so experimental. It’s just sad that it so truly blows.

Re: 10 Random Facts About Me!!! in Chit-Chat
1. I am on Facebook, but I still don’t really comprehend what Twitter is or how it works.
2. I almost never answer my phone. Yes, even if it’s you calling.
3. I write screenplays no one will read, much less buy, and lyrics no one writes music for.
4. I love vodka. No, you don’t understand. I really love it.
5. I evidently like writing sentences beginning with “I.”
6. When making a mix CD, I’ll sprinkle 4 or 5 T? tracks throughout and claim they are all by different bands.
7. If it’s overcast or rainy, I am a much more focused and active football player.
8. To be honest, I could probably do my 8 hour job in about 5 hours.
9. You will have to pry my iPod out of my cold, dead hands.
10. I would rather walk almost anywhere than drive.
